finally some decent time, but only just NOT enough to get me from last spot. well, anyway, i did what i could. tomorrow some more and then it's over.

43.628 - 1.22.503
35.924 - 1.15.377
35.280 - 1.13.630

if my calc is right i'm only 0.1 behind the old guy from bristol and tomorrow i WILL break that tiny little barrier.

The more I play the more frustrating it gets. Being consistent over the three laps is the hardest thing.

Fastest splits
T1-33.015 T2-1.09.0x

only to be squandered in the third lap. Consistency is really not my game sigh.

38" Plasma, from 2 - 2.5 meters, not that it helps my times much. :D

Done a few more races with some really good T-times, just not all in the same clean race. :banghead:

If I can link a few good ones together I reckon I could get at least four or five seconds off my T2 totals and obviously more at the line.

I did have a blinder of a first lap earlier with a sub 1'19 at T2 on the first lap, only to crash at the right left left bit afterwards, 'cos I was looking at the splits, dumbass. :ouch:

Shame as it had a very, very close high speed drifting overtake to get me into first place past a BTR that I would have been really proud to show off come results day. :D

Back to the grind.

Darren.

Damn you :D:D
38", 'tis huge. We have a 28" telly but that's always taken, so I'm stuck with the tiny one.

Brand-spankin' new splits. Is there a rule that the best splits have to have the best total time? Because here, I made some extreme splits (Best T2s I've ever had), but had one crappy T2-finish sector at lap two, so the total time is only half a second away from my current best.

0'43.416
1'21.183
0'35.478
1'12.959
0'35.096
1'12.219

But good splits come at a price, A high one. My GT4 file just got corrupted. I ran that combo so long, that mom got angry and pulled the plug during saving... I have a backup-save at a friend's card, which is only a week away - still almost the same, only 1000A-spec points less, and a couple of Special Conditions away.

Question: When saving the game (GT Mode --> Home --> Save), and it gets corrupted due to a shut-off, do replays get damaged? I know my "The Simpsons Hit & Run" is ok, and other than that, I don't have any games...

EDIT: By the way, I had one amazing first lap, with a low 1'20, and an average second lap with an 1'13.5, but I missed the braking on the friggin' right-hand sweeper - and lost the car.

If the file itself is corrupted, you won't be able to delete it or replace it. And because it always has the same name, you probably need a new memcard (or perhaps it'll work with a save in another language).
If the memcard has corrupted sectors, then you can fill in these sectors with a save from another game and restore a GT4 gamesave after the corrupted area is occupied.

How can I tell which of both happened? When I looked at the memcard, it showed everything alright, only the GT4 file was 1.2MB, instead of 1.45... Deleting went ok, and when I re-copied the old one, no problems occured. Now I have to wait 'till tomorrow to find out if it worked...

If the card needs replacing... Then I'll have to stick to the 240 basic arcade-mode cars for the next time.

If you could delete the file, then upload a new one then it should be ok.
I have a corrupted replay on my memcard (SuperT's lap) and the file has no known size (it only shows a ?), it's named 'corrupted data', and can't be deleted or replaced.

The same happens for my GTA San Andreas on my second memcard : no size, named 'corrupted data' and can't be deleted.

Ah, then I guess I'm fine - I managed to delete it very easily, and the new one is in. Tomorrow I'll check if it works.

Oh, What I forgot: When saving the main game (no replay), and it gets corrupted - are the replays then corrupted too?

I'm burned onto your memory card forever. Nothing I did I hope?

If anyone's interested I'm halfway through getting my shoulder length hair hacked off. I've come over all emotional?

Time submitted.

Race time sent,

I only had time for 2 sessions which I enjoyed very much.

Great combo,Cyril 👍

Time submitted.

Lap1
T1: 0'42.092
T2: 1'18.090

Lap2
T1: 0'33.180
T2: 1'09.214

Lap3
T1: 0'33.661
T2: 1'09.809

What an awesome combo! Very hard for me to get 3 clean laps!

Looking forward to the team effort this coming week!👍

Well I just got home from vacation about 30 minutes ago. And as I'm typing this, I'm also buying everything for the car so that I can at least have SOME time. Here goes nothing....

fyi... little late for most, but since this is a convertable... i gave the rollcage a whirl, made the car instantly .5-1s faster. (takes almost every corner ~5mph faster)

and i'm still getting owned. :(
At least this week is in one of my favorite cars in the game... so its fun.

submitted.
REALLY tried to improve (only .1 from last in 3xt2) but kept banging walls trying.
never mind, i LOVED this week. more of this please oh heavenly steward.

Mmm... Seeing improvements. I just smashed my older record by almost a second. I see new and better splits all the time, but on this run, I had two average flying laps (1'13.5 T2 again), but one amazing 1'20er first lap... Which made me improve my time. I haven't seen a whole 3 clean laps for a while, so the change is refreshing. No real improvements in splits.

EDIT: Currently busy fueling up with caffeine. Two consecutive almost-sleepless nights, plus school, plus WRS, plus TTA, are taking their toll.

The Super-EDIT: Yahoo, I've got a marvelous time set right now.

Lap one: 0'42.968, 1'20.577 (Both are now my current bests)
Lap two: 0'34.958, 1'12.678 (Again, my best for the second lap, which I normally screw up)
Lap three: 0'34.633 (Not the best, but very good), 1'11.945 (Yeah! Current best again)

And, as usual, a whole second-and-a-half improvement of the total time.

Reason for improvements: I finally know how to brake for the right-hand sweeper after the start-finish: On the first lap, when speeds are low, brake short and hard to make the car "listen" again. On the 2nd and 3rd laps, brake long and lightly, so the car won't be upset too much and will hold the line. ~20-30 KM/h improvement of the speed there.

Colby, I beg you... Update the board one last time...

EDIT: Gonna submit this time. Can't best myself right now, not today.

EDIT No.4: Forgot to mention I'm using a new gearing setup, but it mostly won't matter to most people, being 4 hours from the deadline.

Here's a list of my splits:

lap 1
T1 - 43.708
T2 - 1'20.973

lap 2
T1 - 34.027
T2 - 1'11.002

lap 3
T1 - 34.192
T2 - 1'11.399

Replay power= 297 (didn't find time to get the extra 3 hp)

I've seen some nice split times. Great compatition! See ya next round.

Oh, I just found that extra 3 no my last (and best) lap... NA, Racing Exhaust, Chip, Balancing, Oil.

EDIT: Also forgot: Due to my savefile corruption, the Nurb' Blue, Dark Blue and Lime Green R1s are dead, so the new one is Monza Red.

Last try

T1
41.441
33.333
33.222
T2
1.17.674
1.09.443
1.09.418

Fastest splits seen on clean laps:
L1-T1-41.354
T2-1.17.555
L2,3- T1-33.015
T2-1.08.7xx
Whenever I saw those splits I'd get too nervous and lose time someway or another. This was a great combo.
Time submitted. Off to find the max thingy.
