Hi;

I will start running this WRS now that I am qualified (div 2). There's alot of good tips here on how to get around the AI. And some ideas for flying over the hill top. This will really help, so thanks and I'll see you in the rear view, soon.

BTW, this track is in my back yard.

Another 1.5 seconds knocked off:

T1: 0`42.022
T2: 1`18.585

T1: 0`33.303
T2: 1`09.835

T1: 0`33.190
T2: 1`09.703

Maybe another 0.5 for me? Fairly happy with this anyway

This is my latest times

T1- 42.541------T2- 1'19.863
T1- 34.080------T2- 1'10.753
T1- 34.061------T2- 1'1o.935

I have my last T times.

lap1
T1-43:137
T2-1:19:817
lap2
T1-33:749
T2-1:10:034
lap3
T1-33:829
T2-1:10:395

And yet again I have hit my limit with the DS2 controller, hopefully I will
the DFP soon so I can get the car to steer.

I did another quick try this morning, but I didn't better my time. That's enough, time submited.

Good luck guys 👍

3 times submitted so far, 1 per division.
I'll have a final session this week-end to crack one last second barrier. (Already improved my very first time by 18 seconds)

i feel screwed, retarded and handicapped.
great car and best track of the lot (albeit in reverse) and still, after a good deal of tries, i am not only last on luxy but also 4 full seconds slower than the next guy.
maybe if dan will publish his settings i might give it another shot.
if you need me i'll be the guy in the corner weeping.

Starting from tomorrow, it's full-time racing. I expect to manage at least one 1'11 T2, as well as start getting no more than 0'35.999 from now on... I didn't race full today - just went through different lines and gear-combos without the AI. Found a good way trough the turn before T1, enabling me to pass it almost full throttle after a short brake and a downshift. RedWolf, I'm on it. No-one will steal my gold this week.

Oh, and Cyril, where the hell did you bring that Week 72 Qualifier? If I want to drift, I'll learn to drift... But this is forced drifting! Couldn't you at least give us a couple of S2s? It's harder to keep clean than Week 67.

^ Covering most aspects of the game is the goal of the WRS.
Since this qualifier is a short race, it was a good opportunity to post something a bit different that would have been too specific for a whole race.
If you don't want to drift, just drive as if you were on ice : one thing at a time. I mean, when you brake or accelerate, don't turn the wheels at the same time. And brake earlier than usual.
I ran 12 laps so far and only had 2 dirty ones :)

he's right. this poor devil slid and slided all over the place at motorland, but then i figured out what to do. try to drive real slow, get a feel for the strange car behaviour (it only steers if you dont break and dont use the gas) and think about your raceline. that is: early braking, gently hit the apex, try to come out of the corner quickly. and what happens: seconds fly of your laptime altho it feels like you're slower than before.

Don't be disheartened BR, you're still enjoying it, right? I bloody well am. I don't know how I survived without the WRS.
No new splits for now.

I ran 30 laps so far, 4 were dirty, 3 were clean AND fast, and the rest were really slow. I'm getting the hang of driftin, the last 190 corner isn't that slow now. At least 2 seconds to earn, right now...

My target this week is gold. And with what I'm seeing now, supposing RedWolf won't improve much and Filizola doesn't decide to jump in, I'll have it.

New splits:

T1: 0`41.765
T2: 1`17.991

T1: 0`33.105
T2: 1`09.694

T1: 0`33.436
T2: 1`09.657

Came super-dooper close to the wall in my second lap:

Cost me half a second easily but I was still able to smash my old race time. So in theory there is still 0.5 out there to find but my first lap was so far out left field I'm not likely to replicate it again.

That's also one of the walls I'm touching a lot. I had a pic where the car was actually in contact with the wall. It didn't cost me much time, but I deleted the replay. :(

Personally, it's the other wall I touch most. I mostly enter the down-screw part in a semi-drift, and have to countersteer and rip the car violently away from the right wall...

For some reason I can go Flat-out (please excuse the unintentional pun) over the bump and not drift too much there. Which is nice 👍 .

I can, but when I'm in a good lap, the drift is, well, because even on such a car, grip has limits. I mainly try to rip the car forward.

And your pun reminds me of something I had in mind. Anyone played the Arcade racer "Flatout"? The qualifier kinda reminds me of the handling there, only slightly less oily.

I might not turn in a time this week I'm not having fun this week.

Thank god. Another step towards assuring a gold...
But really, how comes you don't like this week? It's one of the best combos ever concievable... It made me want to try to do the whole Tuning Car Championship in a regular/street-tuned S2000.

Gingiba who is that in your avatar.

That is Rowan Atkinson, in the BBC series "The Black Adder". This one is from Black Adder the third. Extremely funny series, you should watch it. I almost wet my pants every time I see one episode...
EDIT: Just wait. 8 more posts (I'm trying not to spam), and I've got myself a nice Blackadder quote below my name...

I have a question about week 72, do we get assigned a team or do we have come up with a team? Does anyone know thanks

Hey great news, i have a action replay max drive evo on its way :) :)

We get assigned.
EDIT: Good news...

Say, how do I customize the title? I'm over 500 at the moment...

same here!

how can anybody coming from the uk NOT know who this guy is? i'm not even from it and i have known him all my life, off course as mr. bean but also as blackadder 1-2-3. the guy is one of the funniest i have ever seen.

EDIT gingiba, cheers on your #500, i still need 171 posts before getting there ...

First attempt at this combo tonight. Quick little set of wheels ain't it?

T1 0'45.750 T2 1'24.093
T1 0'35.380 T2 1'13.389
T1 0'35.472 T2 1'12.129

Was using Colby's tuning guide to get up to 300 HP but the replay showed 283 HP....? Dammit! Forgot to put the NA stage 1 tune on so I'll expect these times to fall quite a bit more with the extra few HP and a few more races, (only done three so far).

The set-up I'm using is almost completely stock race suspension settings, just lowered it a bit, ride height 70/75. Got the fully customisable LSD fitted but haven't touched the settings on that yet. Just strengthened the race brakes up a couple of clicks with an extra one at the rear, 5/6.

I am using the chassis strengthening/rollcage on my car. I haven't tried it without but the car does handle nicely with it fitted so I guess I'll be sticking with it.

I'll give it a couple more goes before bed tonight, I'm shattered though after spending six hours in a recording studio with a bass hangin' off my shoulder...and my fingers hurt. I think that's the longest I've ever played in one go!

Darren.

T1 0'42.452
T2 1'19.136
T1 0'33.779
T2 1'10.217
T1 0'33.784
T2 1'10.224

setup I used

8.2 7.2
69 72
6 6 (bound)
6 6 (rebound)
1.8 0.6
0 0
4 3
Auto 1 Final 4.040
lsd 5 10 5
bb 3 3

Sorry Colby, more times. ;)

T1 0'43.168 T2 1'20.360
T1 0'34.064 T2 1'11.584
T1 0'34.532 T2 1'11.852

Total time was miles faster too. :)

I've taken the customisable LSD off and the standard one back on, the diff's usually the first part of the set-up process I 🤬 up anyway. The only other thing I've changed is the gearing, now auto is set to 8 and the final drive at 4.300.

I've taken the some of your Nurb blue paint off that yellow wall too Cyril, it's now black. :D

Now I've got my set up down I'm off to buy a new one and chisel some more time off those splits.

Darren.

P.S. I may not be sleeping much for the rest of the weekend, I'm really liking this combo now. Wish I'd started it sooner. :dunce:

Darren.

What was it using to hang-on with, a combination of it's dorsal and pectoral fins? ;)

Was it a good sesh buddy?

Used to play guitar in my youth(in a band too), and my fingers still remember the pain!:ouch:
