All tarmac is legal, even the wide area outside the rumble at the far end of the track and the triangle area inside that first right-hander after T1 on the short track.
During our last race here (week 10) track boundaries were the yellow lines between T1 and T2, I just wanna stay consistent with the all tarmac area allowed. And riding the rumble strip on normal tyres while keeping the car balance might be a bit challenging too.
question for cyril - how are you planning to calculate results and points from this week for the hall of fame?
I'd like to reveal it only when all 6 remaining teams have answered my PMs.

Edit : You can go chasing the cones if you like.
It reminds me of someone who had as user custom title 'Leave no cone standing'. I've always found that the best caption ever.

Flat-out you might wanna make your last post official or update it to the first post. Thats pretty important stuff about track boundaries.

Also is the tarmac on the outside of the turn after T1 legal too. The tarmac beyond the rumble strips.

might give this a go even though i missed the qualifier, infenion is a cool track, (btw i did race the qualifier but 10 hours after the deadline:indiff: managed 45.4xx after half an hour, a 44.xxx is feasable if many hours are driven though, be back sometime this week with some splits

Here's a start for everyone, about 15 minutes worth of splits. I'll improve them tonight 👍

T1 - 22.093
T2 - 45.135

Are we just writing splits, or do we write the track too?

Ok so one team member drives one car, and the other team member drives the other?
Is that right or do you mean some thing else?

22.0 / 45.1 are on the short course with normal tyres. Or else you stopped somewhere on the first sector.

Haven't raced yet and may not get a chance tonight but I thought I'd drop your new avatar off Brad:

Enjoy :)

Since I didn't race the other one, and you said the total time would be near the same, I thought maybe the T-Times would too. In hindsight I should have realised that it's the same T1 for both courses!

Oh man. You shouldn't have! That's too kind

An interesting fact, only 3 racers in the Team Event have raced on the Stock car course before in the WRS. Myself, RandyMcChicken and ROB 256R.

(Another interestng fact: I beat those those mighty D2'er that week from D3 :sly: )

EDIT: Oh Gingiba. I just saw your Location 👍 Pretty funny. Maybe I should post that picture of Cyril checking out his own profile that I've been holding very secretly for quite a long time...

here are some first t's from bigβen. i plan to publish together with teammate βen so he'd better pm me his t's and i'll incorporate.

BIG EDIT - car choice has changed
bigben racing team
steven - roadcar @ stock track - 23.622 / 47.474
βen - racecar @ sports track - 17.346 / 52.819

i suggest all do likewise so we know who we're racing against.

steven: the road car uses no aids cos it's somewhat underpowered due to p+0%. normal tyres give me headaches, but not as bad as the racer's arse that wants to come off all the time.

βen: I use no aids, and the car is damned twitchy on the first section, with the hills. No wheelspin under acceleration with RSS tyres :P . Haven't tried the road car so I can't compare.

Great Idea. However,

I'll tell you what I had in mind about keeping teams secret :
1) each team choose a team name
2) we create a new account with that team name
3) during the race each racer can post under their own name (not secret), or under the team account (secret).

In this way, we could race the whole week without knowing what the 13 other teams are, we would add some more suspense.

If you mean week 10 with the SuperBird, I raced that week too ... and I beat you :P

GP-X is already out on the track. Testing is a bit frustrating for Race 1. We just love those Road Tires, ha, ha. Who laid all the oil on the track? Well, at least it feels like it. Race 2 has its own set of problems, so the times may come down, but just don't upset the balance by over cutting corners. What a contrast in traction between the two races. Cool choice of track and cars. It is fascinating to see almost the same lap times with and without the carousel.

In my team, who-drives-what is pretty obvious. But, since I haven't tried both, and won't tomorrow and on friday (sister's birthday), Team-mate will do alone, so I'll have stuff to chase ;)

And Brad: Send me that picture.. I've got an idea for a 'tar.

Rocko and I are just going to run both races, and see which one he is closer to me in, since I am about 1-1.5 secs faster than him consistantly. Only problem is, I am having horribel luck with the new DFP I got. I can run my times or faster than DS2, but thats if I can save the car from spinning every lap.

Ah those normal tyres, you've gotta love them! Infinite drifting, and every time you go out of the corner it is inevitable not to go from one side to another ;) But it's also a bit frustrating when you miscalculate your speed :nervous:
Tommorow we'll see how does the other car handle...

Damn, maybe I should've spent 5 minutes to do the qualifier just so that I could propose the team name of "Penguin Surprise." That was my C02 car from my technical drawing class 2 years ago, when I had the fastest car...

Anyway, don't have times yet, at least that I remember. But what I do remember, is that I'm a bit dissapointed. I think the NSX race car is definitely a good car, but the high curbs & the fact that if you even consider cutting anything, you spin out. Actually no, if you think about changing directions at at all, it wants to spin. I honestly spent 15 minutes trying to nail the first left/right and did nothing but spin.

As for the Type R, it's definitely a car more suited to just abuse the track. If. Big IF. It had proper tyres, and by proper I mean sports. Attacking the course like I normally would just doesn't seem to work, AT ALL. And having to hold back a lot in order to maintain traction, just isn't as rewarding as the combo potentially could be with sports tyres.

Heck, I even tried drifting the first sector, only to find out that its extremely tricky to do because of the power, even using economy tyres. Which are actually the same tyres that are given for the RX-7 licence test at the 'Ring where I drifted myself to gold. And that car had about 20hp less, so I'm rather surprised sliding it around the place isn't working out even somewhat well.

But, I suppose in about an hour I'll post some times, if I can manage something reasonable.

Well, as in the qualifier, I am struggling in the race. That stock car course section is a real pain...

Race 1 -- 22.461 / 46.209
Race 2 -- 17.492 / 52.173

290 gearing race 2

I have done a race and my team member is doing the other.
And this will be the first WRS race that I will use my DFP.
And I have to say it helps ALOT, I can now steer the car
and I have better control with both gas/brake and steering.

Wow, we have a twitchy race 2 car, don't we? It's pretty nice actually. First splits poor for me, tons more time to cut off yet. 👍

was going to ask whether i could hit the cones before T2 but read the first post and realised that i could. the NSX LM is very difficult to drive has no grip on the rear so i suggest people try to learn the car with RS/RSS instead of RSS/RSS, i did this to start with to get some confidence up with the car, i was also using 280 gearing...

Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Race Car '02

T1: 16.974
T2: 51.484

another 0.5 left in it still...
