Like in week 34, this week is a last minute tribute to late Peter Brock, who died last week-end during the Targa West Rally when his AC Cobra Daytona Coupe crashed into a tree.
He used to drive a Holden Monaro CV8, which is therefore the car we'll use this week, and he won the Bathurst 1000 nine times.
Ok, we don't have Bathurst in GT4 (pity), but there are some similarities between this track and Deep Forest : they both turn anti-clockwise unlike most tracks, and they both feature up-and-down sectors through the forest. So here we go :

It's nice of you to remember Peter 👍
OK then, let's see what is this heavy monster capable of (it's gonna be my first time in this car...)

^To be honest with people who didn't read the Suggestions thread, I had never heard about Peter Brock before last sunday. :embarrassed:
Famous in Australia, but Australia is quite far away from France, we've unfortunately never heard his engine roaring in my neighborhood.

I've been into my motorsports as long as I've been able to talk so Peter Brock is a name I've heard before but never really seen much of (the roar of his tortured V8's must have bounced over the Alps Cyril? ;) ), as has already been mentioned elsewhere he did most of his racing domestically in Oz.

Sad news indeed that such a talent is taken away in this manner and at only (a very active) 61 years of age.

I only found out the news after reading the suggestions box so a big thumbs up for the effort of changing this weeks race at short notice to mark his passing Cyril, I'm sure his Australian fans, of which I'm sure there are many of round here, appreciate that. 👍

RIP Peter Brock.

Nice race Cyril 👍 also a fan of the no concrete slab thing too 👍 👍

Yeah, I try to allow tarmac and concrete as often as possible, but as far as this huge concrete slab in concerned I just can't allow it. It gives me a feeling that I'm cheating everytime I put a third wheel on it. :P

well he did it again. bringing actuality into our scabruse hobbies AND picking a great combo (track's super, car dono yet tbh) sounds like our all time favvie race steward. running it in a sec to see if it's indeed any good :ill:

Funnily enough I was watching the V8 supercar endurance race this weekend inbetween the bike racing on Sunday!

Heard about Peter Brock whilst watching that! I'm am sure that he will be missed especially by the Ausies.

Nice tribute Cyril 👍

Will give this week a go once I have a banker in for the JGTC.

Neil

ok nonos, this nono gave the odd aussie a spin just to get a feel of it. mwah, i think i'll stick to preferring stiffer german cars myself.

29.219 - 1.04.644

sure it isn't any good but just to keep omelettes and z-reserve awake LOL.

i was thinking during the week that we maybe should do a tribute race for him and voila the powers to be have thought the same and done what i was thinking... i will give this one a good crack this week...

after a quick 30 minute dash, here are some splits

26.883
57.728

really enjoyable car to drive, much better than last weeks, still another 0.5-0.7 left in it once i round off the rouch edges...

Grass-crete areas are legal too.

Edit :
After having read next post, I'll take a look at it tonight and will post a definitive answer then.

Some splits:

T1: 0`27.361
T2: 0`58.775

Still half a second in it at least, maybe a whole second, don't really know yet 👍

Yeah it happens a fair bit, when it begins happening a lot by the same folk, they get promoted :sly:

Board Updated

And my point is being proved quite quickly...someone move that ROB to D1...STAT!!! :sly:
STAT? I thought only Doctors used that word. I guess Teachers must be licensed to use it too.

I've actually swapped back over to DS2 and this is why my times have come down alot over the last few weeks. Although DFP is more fun i wasn't as good with it, don't really have enough room and long sessions with it really takes it out of me. I happy enough to D1 it from here on out. It's up to Cyril.

well i knew my first round was crap, so i quickly did some more today.
now it's at 28.811 - 1.01.294 so i don't have to feel embarrased anymore 💡 - or do i?
still gotta find out if some areas (like to the left before the first tunnel) are allowed or not.
don't know about the car. it feels like a turbobrick with a huge turbolag at low revs. i gather i should use MT to keep it in the higher rev areas but i'm not used to that. so if someone could guide me through that i'd be massively grateful.

thanks colb for updating all the time.

Will jump on this right as soon as I get home, Be sure to be fast this week, fun car and one of my favorite tracks!
