I'll post a lap guide. Because I have nothing better to do.

  1. Turn around, go back to the overhead bridge, then start the lap. Hit the S/F line at about 130-132MPH
  2. Keep on the outside, brake exactly where the grassy bit comes back across and meets the actual track (If you understand), but make sure you're braking towards the apex
  3. Once you're going about 50-55mph, it's safe to get back on the thottle if you've remained tight, balance the tail so you don't understeer off to the right, but you should really be balanced by 60-65mph, otherwise you're losing too much speed up the hill.
  4. Over the hill, flat-out, should be up to 4th gear pretty easy. For the next right, there is no need to brake, just a quick life off to induce a slide where you touch a very late apex. Hit the apex too early and you'll get yourself in a **** for the next corner.
  5. You should be in the middle/middle-right of the track in 4th gear, brake towards the concrete, the more you can cut this off the better. I run things pretty fine, so I just leave two wheels on the rumble and two on the concrete. But you have to at the very least have two full wheels on the concrete, or you'll lose too much speed for the next corner.
  6. If you've got yourself in position properly, you should be able to take the next with a tiny slide in 3rd gear, again, cut the exit fine, you should have to use the extra road in the tunnel. Again, don't slide do big extravagant slide, or you'll lose too much speed. If you've ballsed up the corner before, you'll have to take this corner in 2nd gear.
  7. Keep it in 3rd (Or move up to 3rd), in the tunnel, turn in towards the center of this right hander, brake just enough to go down into second gear. Power out early, you should position yourself to fly over the apex on the left on the exit of the tunnel.
  8. 3rd gear over this back section, unless you've had an unbelievable exit of the last you shouldn't need 4th. Cut the first slight kink slightly, then chuck the car slightly sideways for the next left. Not enough and you'll understeer into the wall on the right, too much and you'll lose too much speed. Try to end up on the edge on the right hand side.
  9. If you've taken that last corner fast enough you'll need to brake ever so slightly for the uphill left. Brake early though, so you can drive through without oversteer. It'll understeer towards the wall, but that's ok, because you've judged it perfectly!
  10. Full throttle up the straight (Duh), use the bricks on the inside because it's a slightly shorter route. Brake in a straight line just as you exit the tunnel. Use 3rd gear to power you around this tricky left. You'll have to hit the inside of this corner, or you'll end up in the wall on the right. LOADS of time can be made here with the perfect line!
  11. Last corner is pretty easy, just brake slightly and slide the front over the bricks, should hit the apex at ~ 105MPH, exiting at ~110.
And that's how it's done.

Welcome to the WRS Mullen. :)
I'm sure you'll enjoy iy in here :D.

Nice guide Cas, very nice. I seem to have been doind what you have all along...!

well thanks to cas' i got eager to follow the right race lines and came up with

28.335 - 1.00.667

it's getting better all the time using more of the width of the track. actually my fastest lap felt rather slow. i finally got below a certain lap-barrier i really needed to take.
AND it looks like there's even more in it, especially just before t1, in the second tunnel and the lefter just before the mountain straight. IT'S FUN.

now WHERE ARE ALL THE OTHER DIV3 GUYS ???

after my first short session:

0:27,026
0:57,842

:)

edit:
had a 26,6 and 57,4, but i was very close behind the rumble :( ...

anyway, new time:

0:26,908
0:57,566

Nice splits there Steven, but here am I, with splits after 3 laps...

0'28.223
1'00.314

We'll be fighting tough this week, won't we?

hey, spent another hour and finished up with 26.577/57.209

struggling to catch ur t2 split hotboi, any gearing tips for the lap u did?

read casios walkthrough, seamed reasonable but i use gear 2 on right b4 T1, seems to work ok, its a bit of a toss up between the 2 actually....

really wanna know what omelettes and z-reserve will be doing this week. there could be a huge difference between t2 and L performances ...

Ok here are my splits and a clean lap yay, but with a bit of a tank slaper in T1. Should be interesting to watch if this is by best time lol.

T1 27.065
T2 58.179
👍 :)

Its a close one this week, the biggest gap is just over 3 tenths all the way down to 16th so far:bowdown:

I wonder if Casio's lap guide will help me, I guess i'll give it a try:).

Edit:
I tried the guide that Casio put up and it did help:).
Here are my T times.

T1-27:022/-.114
T2-58:263/-.667
Total/-.489

And when I was driving the car I was thinking of a of
a different driving game, NFS HP2:D.

Here are my splits. I thought I did pretty good. I keep passing my ghost, bit by bit. Thanks casio for the play by play:
Div2
T1 - 27.528
T2 - 58.982

Some more presure for div.2 ;)

27.030
58.144

And a nice finish.

New splits from Thursday night, not done any running since then, I've been ill. :yuck:

T1 27.618 (fractionally slower).
T2 58.640 (.8 faster).
FL 1.5 seconds faster. Yippee. :D

I suppose should thank Ben for the improvements as I switched over to manual transmission and found the improvements almost straight away.

 Ben.

After reading Casio's track guide I realised I can't be doing too much wrong as I could've written that myself...Watch your back Cas ;) [SuperT's ego]Dream on Darren[/SuperT's ego]

After 15 lap session i finally ran a quicker lap (.3 faster)...even though my new splits don't reflect this improvement, so i wont bother posting them.

Is it just me, or is there a mistake in the main post concerning the deadline?
"deadline is tuesday 17th september"...shouldn't that be the 19th?

Actually, buddy... Turn down the heat. I've got a trip for the next two days, and today's PS2-less, so I'll only run again on tuesday. Here's a hint: Our splits are close, but my finish was really bad..

lost my maxdrive while running to catch a train, so from now on i will supply videos untill i get a compatibale usb key that works with the max drive software (i need a usb key anyway) time submitted

Its not just you, i can see it too. Cyril you made another typo, maybe someone should write a book on WRS typos, week by week.

No new splits, think ive maxed. So ive uploaded my PAL replay which i will send at request to anyone who may want it. Dan(holl01) helped me solve my maxdrive problems yesterday, i was trying to view his lisence tests (whoa, but thats a different story) and the maxdrive as usual wasnt loading in my PS2, so i started trying different things to see what effect it had on loading the disk. First i tried turning the PS2 logo sideways  this didnt work, and i was out of ideas so i consulted dan. His first suggestion was to wash the disk gently, but alas, still not working. Next he suggested putting the PS2 in the upright position, and instantly it worked. Ive loaded it 3 times in a row now with no problems, so i can only assume he isn't only a GT4 god, but also a ps2 magician. This works also when im playing blue/purple bottom disks, they will only load with the ps2 in the upright position. So not only have i saved 40mins a week trying to get the infernal disk to load, but now i can play mashed with my mates, the second best racing game ever imo. :D Cheers dan! +rep

I've improved a bit, but my first corner was horrible! But never mind, who said it had to be a perfect lap?! ;)
T1 - 27.002
T2 - 57.939

submitting my time... don't think i'm going to trim too much more off.
26.887
57.878

Another quick go last night...

T1 26.930 Been faster but not much.
T2 58.484

I was regularly getting into the 57's at T2 but developed a habit of ****ing up the final turn. :ouch:

I'll have to see what a last minute Tuesday night session will bring? :D :sly:

Darren.

 Yeah, do a Casio and you can't go much wrong. :sly:
I'll be having a go today, haven't tried since my other splits.

The Division splits are looking quite cool, Nearly all div 1, then 2, then 3.
With the exception of Weary of course :P :sly:.

I got some catching up to do :indiff:

T1: 0`27.055
T2: 0`58.346

I'm a million-monkeys kinda guy I'm afraid and I've only had a few running laps this week. Oh well...better start planning my new 'tar Brad :sly:

Ok i'am going to put a little presser on div 3. I ran about 35 laps and this is what i got.
T1-27.990
T2-59.792
I ran a couple 27.5 T1's so I can get still a good half second off my time. I'am looking forward to a good race this week.

Decided to drop in after a long break...

Splits after two 30-min sessions:
T1: 28.046
T2: 1'00.350

I hope to get under that min.marker before time's up.
