Back with the Charger 440 R/T and dragged myself from the ranks of the D3'ers, for now.

Not a bad finsh either, I cut over two seconds off my total lap time too! :eek:

Using TCS now though. My throttle thumbs not sensitive enough for these overpowered RWD's. :(

Got all of tomorrow free, I'll probably spend an hour or two on this 👍 .
After all said and done my splits are after only 2 laps.

Finally! Did a clean lap aboard a Stingray, and just try and guess where this puts me for this week! :sly:

T1: 0'32.347
T2: 1'08.010

hehe, superb game, 1 point! i was actually playing this combo on an off during it, and that lap was the first time i hit a 1'02.xxx at T2, i saw -1.006 at that sector and couldnt believe it, thankfuly i kept my composure and did the last sector relatively faultlessly:) oh and i might have been a little harsh on page 2 of this thread when i started swearing, i take that all back as its a pretty addictive combo especially with the loose rear of the stingray:tup: time submitted

will see if i can muster anymore time out of the Stingray, dunno if i can though...
 
Wow! You guys are fast. I'm new here and recently qualified in Div 3. i've given this race a decent bit of effort this week and know i'm still leaving some time out there on the track. can't seem to string together all the sections for one lap. So far I've got T1 30.797 T2 1:04.930


Have a couple of questions though: All the curbing is legal to drive over, right? Not just the rumble strips? So basically this week the only dirty laps would be ones where you hit a wall? I hope so or I just wasted an assload of time. Also, i really didn't plan on placing in any of these races so I don't have any way to submit replays. I quess what i'm asking is, looking at my splits, do you think it's a good idea to buy one of those replay things? How much are they?

Hi and welcome, yeah those splits are good for Div3 and a Action replay max drive is worth it if your interested in running every week. £15 UK and around $25 US i think maybe more.

seriously man, how r u guys even getting in the 29's i need to se a replay, if you guys can upload it somewhere since i cant see those .max files and stuff

indeed, i used ds2 btw, never tried it with dfp but i can imagine that to be a difficult task so well done to u shockwave for achieving that time with the wheel, and looking forward to seing ur replay:tup:
 
If I had not already sent in my time maybe I would have try the DS2 as
I have found it hard to go around the hairpin with it.
 
I can't seem to get back into the 1'04 area. I did, however, improve my laptime by an exact 1.000 seconds since last time :lol:

Now I need a bit of magic and some luck. I managed to pass my old ghost on T1, hairpin, and exit out of the straight, but **** up braking later.

sacrifice turn two so you can carry more speed through turn3 onto the straight.

this is the line I started using today and was eating my ghost for lunch.
drag racing diagnal toward the second corner and just railing on the brake into the apex has been much faster overall than trying to finesse and carry speed at half throttle.

T1 - 30.000 (Have seen 29.5)
T2 - 1'04.000 (Have seen 1'03.5xx)

I swear these are true! I just seem to like this combo more than I thought, mainly 'cause the Stingray is nice 👍 .
More to come yet, as you can see by my 'Have seens' .
 
time subbed. with such a poor combo (to me anyway) and such a great for next week (which is out now) i'll draw the line and get to the fun department.

Lopped off around 4/10ths at the line. Won't win me any prizes for the fastest lap of the week, but it'll most likely be the only entry that isn't a 'Vette or a Charger! :P

I haven't had a session with this combo since i posted my original sector times, looks like im going to get another bronze this week lol.

I also started following some more of Dan's tips, and started using 1st gear for the 1&2nd turn, too. Now using 1st on the hairpin, 1&2nd, and final turn.

Such an addicting week. And to think I almost gave it up on the first day...

i've tested the last corner, you cross the finish at almost exactly the same speed using 1st or staying in 2nd. So IMO its just better to stay in 2nd all the way to the line, so you dont' have to worry about wheel spin.
+ you don't lose that tenth from the 1-2 shift.

I noticed a pretty big difference on that corner - probably because of different approaches. I get to cross it at 130KM/h.

About that line - I did manage to get (very) low 0'30s (still, a Div3), and I did manage low 1'04s, but I still mess up something else when I do. I tried to merge the lines Holl01 and B-spec Bob recommended (basically the same) for the double-left, and it finally helped me - I'm regularily getting within 0.3 seconds of my best time, but sadly, I still can't beat it.

I've already overwritten it with a slightly faster lap, with slightly slower splits.

PimpF - you're running the wrong power/weight figures. The C3 Stingray Corvette should be run at -5% power (333HP) and -10% Weight (1341KG), which is both better (improved PWR), and won't disqualify you (because the 1341KG can't be confirmed, you could be running 351HP and 1341KG, which is above the needed PWR of 4).

Ben - That's alright. I didn't run any ARS this week, so we're equal :sly:. Can't stand the combo, actually.


I'm absolutely killing myself on this (WRS) combo. Love it. I haven't done anything but biking and running this combo for the past days. I just wish I'll get a blazing lap tomorrow, like I usually do the moment before submitting. I've gotten a 1'04.3 today, and seen a couple of 1'04ers, but I still can't manage to get those together with a beautifull finish. Or perhaps Cyril will be kind enough to make the cut-off just below me, not the usual above me...

They're actually slower splits, but I did the last few corners a lot better than before to give me a 0.4 advantage over the line.
