The power has to be 1/4 of the weight. Or the weight has to be 4 times the power. Which ever way you want to look at it.

So you take the weight down to -10, then divide that value by 4, that gives you the maximum HP you're allowed to use.

Which reminds me, Cyril - according to my 10% off, then divide by 4, the Cougar should be able to use the stock 319BHP...

Edit: Kyle, great writeup on the 'Vette. Sums up what I think and feel about it.

Ran down to 1'05.5 today but I'm still running dirty (the slow kind of dirty, not the fastlap that got ruined kind of dirty).

Need to work on learning the track more as well as the Vette. My braking points are all off and my shifts are all still inconsistant (thanks to bad lapping in general). Once I manage to learn the braking points, shift points, and course layout, I should be able to get into the mid to low 1'04s (easily I hope).

For now I'm stuck with a bad view of the TV and can't race very well. The sun is punching through my window with every beam of light possible, the TV is one big reflection of my room. :ouch:
So until later tonight...

Me too, my TV is located badly in terms of lightning. I have to play after sunset, mostly...

And this 'Vetter... It's weird. It's almost "too" sporty - it brakes fast, and responds faster than what I expect - I always brake too soon, and then slam into the inside of the corner... Happens mainly on the last seaside 3-corner road. Corvette C3 Stingray in Dark-burnt Red. Pure sexiness.

My first set of splits for the board.

T1 0'32.224
T2 1'07.015 Seen a 1'05 but it was even dirtier than this lap!

Still not had a clean lap out of the ten or so laps I did last night, although although the lap with those splits was only a minor tap on the wall after some over enthusiastic throttle opening coming out of the really tight left hander where the track narows to two lanes.

Should be able to go much faster once I get used to doing the clean runs. :D

Used the Charger 440 R/T with no aids and I'm still using manual gears Ben, third WRS week in a row with a manual tranny after playing car games since the dawn of console games with auto gears. 👍

Darren.

Way to go, Darren! Did you try getting it in a low-rev 4th gear? Sounds like a tractor there...

If this was a faster track, you could stick it in 4th and not bother changing!

I was car testing for the last but one UKGTP. I drove the Charger round trial mountain, changing gear as normal, and recorded a lap time. I then tried staying in 4th all the way round, and I was only 2 tenths slower!

Same here, only 3rd gear all the way for the Charger, 2nd for the 'vette Stingray

Damn hairpins! :grumpy:

Judging by what others have said so far about the C3 I guess that'll be the car of choice for tonight's sesh. 👍

I saw the photo's from UKGTP 5, was a bit gutted I couldn't make it myself but will definately be up for the next one.....Especially as Mini drivers get indoor parking. :dopey:

Ok I got a problem. The Vette or the charger? I got this in the charger.

T1-31.886

T2-1.07.377

I have only been running about 15min in each car and I beat the Vette with the charger by a second. I don't have the time to get used to both them to see witch is faster because of work. I know Kent is doing well in the Vette and I am leaning that way. I jest want your guys opinion. Thank you:).

T1: 31.784 T2: 1'06.880 C3 'Vette. The only car that challenges it in terms of handling is the Shalby 'Stang. It dosn't just spin the inside wheel like the 'Stang though.

wow, I am using the mustang but I like it much better in GT mode. At least there you can control the wheelspin a bit more. I am having fun though! 👍

Any one using ASM?

31.797
1'07.300

Ren-Tec posting his times so far and im using the 440 charger:dopey:

T1- 30.283
T2- 1'04.339
👍 👍

I, personally like the 'stingray!

It has fantastic brakes, and 'will' turn on them too!

No splits yet, not put a serious effort in yet!

Got JGTC race, DTM, and testing commitments for S3 to do, so they are taking priority!

However splits will be forth-coming!

Neil

I tried some more cars today, went a little faster. I don't think I will do good
this week but after that gold I got last week i'm ok with that:).

Here's some new times. T1: 31.707 T2: 1'06.691 Now I can hang in my racing line much better, I'm starting to like this car more. And with the power to weight ratio at 4.0 it only spins in 1st, and only a little.

Cyril's just saying that you can't get to 320 hp using the % hp decrease, the closest legal thing you can get is 319... Not sure what all the confusion is... :P

I much as I like the shelby, it just doesn't make the cut this week. I switched to the 440 R/T and the time started shaving off... :)

31.288
1'05.867

(I wonder if Gingiba will ever change that scary avatar :sly: )

EDIT: That's a great shiny new avatar, Gingiba!👍

Well the vette handles nice but i think just can't cut it down the back straight.
The charger is much tickier on the turn in and brakes but also is hard to lay the power down. But on the plus side it is quick on the straight.
hope that helps :)

The Shelby would've been great if it had a big-block, with enough torque in the low revs, making Kyle's technique (3rd-only on the charger, 2nd for the 'vette) effective...
Try switching to the 'Vette Stingray - as much as the Charger saves some time on the straight (Not enough to make a huge difference), the 'Vette saves much more time on the braking, turning and getting the power down...

EDIT: Thanks for the 'tar comment. I didn't really like the previous one - as much as I love the show, it didn't go well as a 'tar... And that 908 looks so damn Sexy.

is there any way to look at your split times after youve done your session?
i dont wanna look at the time while driving especially after the first one, cause of that right hand corner
so far
T1: 30.7xx
T2: 1:04.7xx

the only bad thins is, i got no max drive or such device to proove or save my replays and whatnot, im doin it for fun just to see where i would come in with the best of em and am not doing that bad

that's easy. go to replay (camera icon) and hit it. you can pause the replay by hitting the SELECT button and double the replay speed by clicking the left sticky or big knob. don't forget to save your ghost before leaving the screen if you're happy 'bout the results.

im pullin a x:xx.xish so far
in wrs we're used to publishing t-times but not laptimes so you'd better remove that figure.
