Aimed at me I see...
Lol, actually, it wasn't... There's someone else who actually was rude and disrespectful, you weren't. You are perfectly able and allowed to state your opinion, and I took your post as such. Someone else's though...

Also, when I first sat down at this combo, I immediately regretted already submitting my wk74 time and starting on it. I didn't like the combo at all at first either. But, since I already submitted the other time in my excitement, I just kept at it. You eventually get the hang of it, and you definitely increase your skills. Don't give up too soon! 👍

Then I am deeply sorry for what I said. I wasn't actually personally attcking you, so it's all good 👍

I don't understand why no one likes Hong Kong. It's one of my favorite tracks! (haven't run it much in reverse though) It also looks great in 1080i by the way.

There's no doubt that I will take the Shelby Mustang on this one. I have been running that car a lot in GT mode lately. It's just a blast to drive! 👍
are you already using the gt4 hd version? if so, how is the game different from the normal one - i hear something about bonus tracks and cars ...
and if so, i'll have to start figuring out an excuse to my family to start saving for a 1080 tv set 💡

to ben and kyle - i haven't figured out yet if this thread has become a hugging competition or a competition how fast you can get your post count up by 100 in one evening :)

In the 440 I assume?

1080i is an option on NTSC verision GT4.

1080p is the option on GT HD.

another second in it at least i reckon... quite a nice challenge this week, didn't enjoy last weeks race but this one looks promising

i bet cyril was dreaming of either one of his heroes king-kong or donkey-kong when deciding for this week's wrs race. but if he really wanted to tribute richard the hamster why not pick his '69 charger so we don't have to decide which car is the all-but-worst understeerer? :)

anyway, i thought the cougar was the least worse car when i tried first, but apparently the superbee is even less worse (is that proper english gentlemen?) 'cos i improved my laptime by 3 seconds. won't get much better 'cos i refuse to spend too much time in a car that sucks on a track that does the same ... (also no offense cyril).

dodge charger superbee 1656kg/412hp -3%: 32.953 - 1.09.779

ps i do need to say something positive about these cars: the engine sound is so fantastic that when i put on the headphones and turn up the volume big time, the grumble gets to my intestines and i get very excited and ... :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed:

Did you try to make, just for the fun of it, a run on Week 74, 6th gear, 10KM/h? Listen to that high-pitched whiiiiiine. Supercharging at it's best :P

Added your Superbee percentage to the list.

EDIT: Added some more percents.

Tried some cars around, and I have to say, out of all the places for a Musclecar, this is the most unfitting place ever.

I guess, Steven, you'll be ahead of me this time. I don't think I'll even submit. Oh... and until when is the virtual-pizza/beer challenge?

Well, can you think of a more fitting place for a normal tired muscle car? Maybe Seattle, but that has all those bumps and jumps as WELL as the rumble strips, so I'd say it's even worse for the cars. There's just no place for these beasts in stock trim, so why not Hong Kong? :sly:

Just to save some of you time, the Charger 440 R/T is the faster of the cars I drove, and it actually oversteers too. There are faster cars out there I suppose though, we shall find out.

Well, they do well on Laguna, or any smooth-curved track. Heck, I even started thinking about Motegi SuperSpeedway, since a couple of them are (were) NASCAR cars... But a stop-and-go 90-degree course?

i tried out a few, including hammond's r/t, but the super-b was the lesser understeerer to me.

Do they do well on Laguna? I guess they might, but would run out of gearing. But we've had Laguna more often, and this was just a quick throw up of a race, so... I see your point with the 90 degrees. But they ARE best at point and shoot, lol.

Yes, but not at handling those 90-degree'ers smoothly - while others might do them less "stop-go'ish"

Has a shot, 0'33.6 and 1'09.161. Steven, I'm running.

And Kyle, the Superbee didn't run out of (manual) gears for me there... Drifting a bit is the way to move them.

EDIT: Stingray just beat my old lap by 3 seconds. New fastest car for now...

To Steven - Neither :P !

I may give this a go none the less, as I'll be on the PS2 asap to do some photographing :P.

photographing - i wonder what that could be for ...
don't forget about our last track change friend!
at least we share a common use (classic) car dislike, if nothing else.

The Stingray manages the T2-finish section best, which leads me to think it has something to do with the airodynamics and handling at higher speeds. Kyle, your "3rd Gear only" works on this car, too, only it's second gear - the gears here are long enough so that even 2nd doesn't spin, and is sufficient for most of the track.

The Stingray, I think, is like a beautiful woman. Curvy and sexy, but not too sporty ;)

I'm racing this week, and that's final. Now I know the track better, and Kyle's technique really (really really) helps. I guess I've been driving in the low gears for too long, since both the Caterham and the Muscle this week both need high gears to be effective...

Would it be wrong for me to say I lurv you, Cyril, for giving the chance and excuse I needed to drive my Charger again? ^^

I'll post splits later. I'm recording a song at the moment so it'll have to wait! But only for a minute or five.

Duh! Stingray is always one of the primo muscle cars in the GT series :D The shelby 350 is always a strong car. I hope you take atleast a few laps here Curtis muhaha c'mon muscle cars!

Jerome

The Stingray also has the coolest names. Fishnames (Cuda?) don't work well when the character of the car doesn't match.

The Shelby is quite a good car, but the wide gearing and narrow powerband won't enable the 3rd/2nd gear only tecnique.

Right now my t2 is a really loose 1'07. I mean REALLY loose. I'm still finding the lines and learning the car with it's nice new tires. I love the way it handles, but the braking is a bit tricky as well as the massive torque. Throttle control isn't TOO difficult; at 90% it seems to shift well, 100% once in gear again.

Some splits for me, a car that comes in Green & White, my favourite combination, won't be the quickest, but I'm sticking with it! Finally got a clean lap out of this thing, and threw away at least 3/10ths in the last bend alone. :dunce:

Plymouth 'Cuda 440 Six Pack '71 1418kg/352HP (353HP on replay screen)

T1 30.742
T2 1'05.440

Whew, that's pretty quick, considering all the splits until now were either low-end Div3 or top-end Div1...

And concerning your sig, Smallhorses: Div1 is Blue, Div 2 is Orange... So either Division Blue, or Division 2 - not both :P

EDIT: Some fresh splits from the oven, using the Stingy

0'32.3
1'08.215

Chopped 4 seconds off my previous laptime. This Stingray has this wonderfull howling whine... I'm finally starting to use the whole width of the track. RedWolf, I'm on your Red tail.

*Watches RedWolf from his windscreen and Steven from his Mirror*

New splits from me

30.843
1'04.393

Still in a lime green Charger.

Only knocked 4 tenths of my final time. I ran wide in the last corner.
