GT4 WRS Week 8: "Licensed To Ill"

I pulled a pretty impressive lap and finally golded it. Well, I am not recording any but T6 and lets just say I am around 2:47.

Oh, and on the leaderboard it should be Kolyana not Koylana. Not nitpicking. Just wanted to point it out.

Just checked my spot in Luxy's board too.... I am right in between amp and Kolyana. Oh no. I need to improve. Just a few hundredths!

lol me! I got a 1 second lead over my current best and then lost it all in indianapolis. On a couple when i was really going for it I cut the grass a little bit on the right in that last chicane and got 'failed'. Why it has 'OH YEEAAHHH!' in the failing music is beyond me. nd it's the Duffman song.

Of all the chicanes on this course, I've never messed up on the last one. It's the other three I have problems with.

I did that this morning on my last lap before work, two seconds ahead of my ghost at T6. So I've been sitting at work all day waiting to get to try it again.

Countless times last night. If there was a zone to be in while running the lap, I was certainly not in it. I'd say I restarted 30 times or so (was getting tired, but my friend had better splits and i wanted to overtake before i went to sleep) before just giving up. Should've done that in the first place, though.. woke up and completed my first lap out front.

Yeah, I bet my Failed to Finished lap ratio is about 30:1.

Have some new T times. However, my T6 is ~.468 slower than my last fastest, but total lap time is ~.600 faster overall. T6 to the finish line can definately make or break you. Could make for some upsets this week.

I still have tons of time to make up. Just can't seem to string it all together yet.

You're telling me. I just (literally) saw ~.2 exiting New Maison Blanche (to last straight bit) and saw another ~.3 because of my conservative line into Ford Chicane and boom (ironic, your user name).. took it too fast in excitement and let it all go to waste. Perhaps you jinxed me.

Been 3.5 seconds up at T6 and then sat ONE Wheel (right-rear) in the sand on the exit of final chicane!

Bloody well span me like a top into the right-hand wall about 2 foot from the line!

What's required to unlock it? I haven't looked yet (will tonight). I finished 7th in last week's WRS event in D2, so I'm obviously doing something right, yet I'm only 36% in GT4 and have only gone so far as the IB license (I don't bother doing licenses until I want to race in an event that requires it).

But if I haven't unlocked the S license then according to you I'm not qualified to participate this week? C'mon 👎

Come on, you know what I mean - I'm saying that if by now you haven't been ABLE to unlock or finish the S license then you probably aren't going to snatch a podium. I wasn't talking about people who haven't got around to it yet.

After looking at the leader board, it seems about right... less radical than last week.

Last week though. I was a stupid one who bought the N1 when I got the game and drove probably 1000 laps on Twin Motegi getting it tuned and just having fun. I did that and went through a few of the cars.

^^ All of that seems unbelievable but I got bored real quck and did that.

I guess it must have been me and the early version GT4 then. My replay is all messed up as well, it's cut-off'ed a couple feet before the finishline. Too bad, I can't even compare my times on the L-board.

There's another second in this, for sure, but I'm really unsure about the entire last half of the track and I'm not picking it up quickly. I either lose a second on the final half or lose a second on the first half ... if I can combine them together, there's a mid 2'45 to be had at T6 for sure.

Oh, and crossed the line a WHOPPING 1.7 seconds faster than my previous best. I'm chuffed.

BTW, Luxy, Fryz, Jump_Ace is NOT D3, k? I almost had a heart attack when I saw that in the leaderboard.
