Yeh, I dont mean to go off topic but I just found out that the shop that sells the DF is closing down before i can save up enough money so i've looked around briefly and found this wheel:
Here's the link
I'm not getting my hopes up yet but I would love to get into the top 20 on my first race. I wont get the chance to focus all that much on the next 3 or 4 races coz I have exams so i'm making the most of this one before I need to start revising again.

Peace Out!

Good luck with the studies ! I won't go for any other wheel than the DFP if I was you ... all the other ones are not nearly as good as the DFP, or so I've seen on many sites on the internet. Rather find another shop to buy it !

Yeh i'll have another look. It wasnt the DFP that I was saving up for before though. It was the original Logitech Driving Force wheel. Same thing as the DFP except it has paddle shifters rather than a stick shifter and it doesn't have 900 degree rotation. Anyway, im off to try and beat your Ts lol.

Well even the DF is better than anything else I would say ... DFP has paddle shifters and the stick shift, but who can drive with one hand ... And to use 900 degrees you have to be crazy in any case ... but it's better than the 200 degrees of the DF I'd say. But I bet you no-one turns the DFP lock-to-lock on 900 degrees ... you'll have to have like 4 arms for that or somethin' haha.

And that's what I get for helping you ! Trying to beat me ! :) hehe, I'm leaving for home in a hour ! 👍

Hey Vtec

I have just upgraded to the DFP from the DF wheel, What a difference!

The df was great, as good as the logitech DF for the pc..........That is until i tried the DFP!

By comparison the DF is noisy, inprecise, and the analogue paddles are a right pain in the .........fingers! To change gears you have to pull the paddle 70-80% up, and to do a rapid 3 gear shift it takes to long as you have to let the paddles go ALL the way back before pulling in again.

In short.......get the DF pro!

Well my DFP is noisy as well ! I thought everyone's are ? Have to turn up the surround sound to not hear it !

True, but nowhere near as bad as the DF!

👍

Did not know that, never heard the DF, but I'm glad I'm not the only one with a weezing sneezing wheel ... one gets used to it though.

So how are you going this week dude ? Think you can improve on your times still ?

Have only done one session so far, Tues evening. And that was a determined effort to get a gold.
Gonna give it a go today tho, so watch out, flying scouser riding the tidal-wave of victory coming thro!!!!!

:) :) :) :) :)

But I bet you no-one turns the DFP lock-to-lock on 900 degrees
Eh?!? You mean you switch your DFP into 200-degree mode? Why would you want to do that? You rarely use the full 900 degrees, in fact the most I've ever turned mine under normal racing conditions (i.e. not including trips to the beach) is 180 degrees either way (so 360 in full) and that's in very slow, tight hairpin corners.

Rallying is another matter of course, but I won't go there... :)

No no, I'm just saying no-one will use the full 900 degrees in a race ie. turn the wheel so far ... agreed !

@VTEC , hehe good going dude, getting into Div. 2 times now ! Well ... I hope I can better my times, I'm sure I will lol

Ahh 👍 Okay, I was about to have you expelled from the DFP Brotherhood ;)

I wont put my new T times up yet as im sure I can improve on this but i'm now less than 2 tenths behind your T6 time Kragbees.

Wheezing/sneezing! That's great. To my wife the DFP gear sound is like fingernails on a chalkboard. She can hear it upstairs while I'm downstairs. It really cuts into my time playing. When she's around I have to use the DS2 which is now junk to me unless it's just to control B-Spec Bob.

BTW, I wear a good set of headphones to drown out the noise...

I really can't see the fuss with the DFP noise' ... mine makes hardly any noise, except when calibrating itself when first turned on, but even then it doesn't need surround sound to drown it out.

Maybe I've got a later version or something? But mine's a quiet little puppy and I'd never give it up for a DS2 except for Rallying events (where the DFP is fun, but I'm sooooo much quicker with the DS2).

I'm back Kragbees, temporarily put this in your pipe and smoke it:
T1: 0'30.191
T2: 1'03.095
T3: 1'29.498
T4: 1'51.581
T5: 2'19.584
T6: 2'48.484
I think I could make 1 more improvement on that before I pm it to CFM

Kung Pao
Oh my GOD!!! How in the hell do you guys get these times?!

2:50 is so far out of my reach...I'm like, Division 86 I guess

Hi and WELCOME!

The times are intimidating, but don't be disheartened. I'm quicker now than I used to be 7 weeks ago, purely because I'm chasing these guys (which makes me faster than I ever thought possible), getting a huge amount of practice, and picking up all sorts of hints and tips along the way.

And when you do run that lap and can get no more ... I can guarantee that you can ;) It's really surprising how much the envelope can be pushed.

I agree with Kolyana, yesterday I was in the High 26s for an overall lap and since then i've sliced more than 10 seconds off my time. Everyone here is really helpful and I wouldnt have been able to get the time I have now without their help. And the 200 and something laps that i've done.

Since this is a license race, I'd normally just barely get the gold and quit. My job is done. But with this, I've got a time I'd never expect to get. And this is all thanks to the WRS and to everyone that helps with tips. Not to mention friendly rivalies. This is an extra push.

My DFP makes noise especially when I yank the wheel for a countersteer, but not enough to bother me. I figure it as this, "I need some power steering fluid, but to lazy to get it." :dopey:

Sector time update :
T1 - 30.611
T2 - 1.04.041
T3 - 1.30.666
T4 - 1.52.763
T5 - 2.20.353
T6 - 2.49.196
Only marginally better, but a :censored:load better at the most important place :P

BOMP BOMP --- CHICKA CHICKA --- (RESTART)

Been practicing the track in the audi R8, which 'out-of-the-box' gives the same gearshift and brake point, terminal speed at and of the straight's is very similar and laptimes are on par.

Knocked well over 4 secs off whole lap in 5-6 laps with 2,46.9 at T6 (only 1.8 faster)and a further 2.4 secs faster at the line!

Finally getting some practice at the final chicanes, been getting similar times in the bentley for real, but keep buggering up the final section(mainly the final chicane).

so i'm fairly confident of 2,45.5's later in the week..........maybe?

How are you lot getting on?

Neil

Oh yeah and my DFP wheel's only really noisy enough to intrude when going lock to lock in the chicanes, must have worn out the df in the four weeks i used it coz there is now at least 5mm of play in the bearings!

That's what I'm shooting for. I can see three corners where I'm losing speed, with the potential for two others gaining me perhaps as much as .5-1.0 seconds just in those 2 (I've been through both faster on previous runs).

I'm purposefully setting myself a higher target than normal this week and HOPE to get it.

@Vexd mate!

Calm down,calm down! :scared:

The 'oh my got i suck at this' with no splits kid's at it again! :banghead:

Really happy to be a scouser, and having fun!

Fun fun this week :D

I am loving this - great choice Todd, you won't be seeing any hate mail from me 👍

At least, not until what you said here...
CFM
Hope you feel like getting your car really dirty next week. (hint hint):sly:
...becomes true :nervous: :( ;)

Gave this race a quick go this morning... managed to be well under gold times in the first section of the track, but the last one killed me (I don't know it as good, yet, since I haven't driven it enough) and I missed Gold by a few seconds.

Will put more laps into it as the week goes by...

The Wizard.
