GT4 WRS Week 8: "Licensed To Ill"

This week's race is a blast to run. Thoroughly enjoying it and I'm amazed at how lax that gold time now seems now that I've beaten it and seen how much faster others are going than I am.

Gotta say that I'm junk on the DS2 on this race though. DFP is a dream!

T's for my second clean run... All I need to do now is get a feel for how fast I can take the sweepers towards the end. I lost a HUGE amount of time through there.

This sounded like fun so I thought I'd give it a few laps.. Pretty much instantly found 4-5 seconds from when I first passed the licence.. 👍 Quite happy with the laptime but I'm losing HUGE amounts of time in the chicanes.. The second one in particular..Haven't found a proper breaking-point yet, but I will.. Anyway..

T1 0'30.768 (seen 0'29.xxx -> failed)

This lap MAY be dirty but I don't think so.. Might have touched the wall after T5 in that right-hander. But a quick check didn't reveal anything.. Will have to check more carefully though to make sure..

Did some really silly mistakes in my vain attempt at driving faster.. Spinning out under the dunlop sign for example.. Oh well..

After playing twice today. 1st time was nothing but failed frustration. Took a break and went to it later. 2nd time was pure delight, improving by 4 seconds overall.

There is room for improvement at the beginning of the lap. Not sure about the end though. I'm trying to take the Porsche curves flat out. Haven't been able to yet but I think you can. And the right turn after Indianapolis corner is really making me mad. I either brake to late and run into the wall or brake to early and turn into the grass.

Ah man was it ever a great fight, That Manfredo (SP?) just would not fall down! Sergio kept hittin him with 5 punch combos while ON THE ROPES and he just wouldn't drop, just amazing, man I'd drop dead before the first round was over unless I ran aournd like a checken with his head cutt off...lol. Good times, definately woth not racing 2more hours IMO...

That was a great fight! And the running around like a chicken with its head cut off, well I would have to join you on that one. Forget 7 rounds, I want to make it through the first one. I wont forget that fight for a long time.
The fight for the bronze was also very good. Jesse just got tired at the end and Alfonso just kept coming back. Both were great fights.

i dunno if this is legal according to the WRS rules but are people allowed to state there times so long as the seconds after the point aren't included? If so i'd like to see the the kind of times Natalie and some of other top 20 div 3 runners are doing.

Vtec ... no, you're not ... but feel free to PM people. Some may tell you, some may not.

And if by "Natalie" you mean me, "Natalya", throw a PM my way and after tonight's run (I'm in Pacific time) it may be half way decent enough for sharing, but typically I never discuss times for the first two nights (I'm always learning the car and track it seems and lag behind everyone else), then around Thursday and Friday I start getting faster.

CFM doesn't do the leaderboard, it's Luxy (or at least it's hosted at his site.) You don't have to ask to have it updated, as Luxy vigilantly scours the race thread adding all times he finds.

How are you all staying so consistant?! Comparing my times to veilsidebr, I'm faster in T-1, but by the time I reach T-6 I'm almost 15 seconds behind. Somewhere between T1 and T3 I'm losing all that time. I need more practive with that last chicane and the hairpin , maybe then I won't lose so much time.

I'm only posting these because my initial splits are pretty quick and I'm happy with them. I've also managed to push a faster time deeper into the lap and shaved .4 off my final time. If I could just get the last couple of T's down, I think I may be set to drive a nail into this one this week.
