I'm curently slow on the main straight ... slow even by my standards ... my eyes are tired and my brain numb, but I'm running the final of the track faster than I ever have. Now, if only I could combine the two!

Puck927

Crap. Just when I thought I was pulling away. :(

Very nice splits. Hope you didn't hit those last two chicanes as good as you think you did. :embarrassed:

Will give it another go in the morning, but I can't seem to squeeze everything into one solid lap.

*gasp*

Okay, my hands are slightly raw, my back hurts, and my eyes are unfocused...finally some times worth posting, though I just can't seem to bag that elusive perfect lap :grumpy: Hopefully some faster times tomorrow if I can fit something in before the GP

T1 - 0'29.681
T2 - 1'02.131
T3 - 1'28.188
T4 - 1'50.013
T5 - 2'17.805
T6 - 2'45.835

Off to the press conference...err...bed 👍

Real similiar times here:

T1 - 0'30.056
T2 - 1:02.160 (This could have been a 1:01, but I made a boo boo)
T3 - 1:28.246
T4 - 1:50.040
T5 - 2:17.753
T6 - 2:46.136
Final Lap Time: :sly: Wouldn't you like to know :D

Btw, I think this week's event has really brought out some of the best competition yet 👍
Nobody's giving in :irked:, everyone seems to be really giving it thier all  , and helping each other with advice to go even faster.

Way to go peeps

Bad splits, don't even bother looking at them ... I'm really struggling to keep up with my own damned ghost at the moment ... but made it up on T6 and finally broke into the 2'43.xxx mark :)

T1: 29.733
T2: 1'01.884
T3: 1'27.706
T4: 1'49.231
T5: 2'16.093
T6: 2'43.992

I think you need to take a break. No-one in Div3 is going to touch you now. Unless you meant going for first OVERALL, you have it in the bag.

Yeah... I guess she did mean first overall... Lol, maybe not, but yeah, she's got it for sure. But now, I think she's just pushing herself to see how far she can go... GO FOR IT NAT! 👍

Update:

T1 29.487 (have seen 29.1s)
T2 1:01.945 (have seen 1:01.1 GRR!)
T3 1:27.684
T4 1:49.445
T5 2:16.889
T6 2:45.532

Based on the segments on completed laps, I can go at least a second faster, but I should be able to do even more if I can get one of those magical 1:01.1 T2s!.

Drive on!

-SHig

bet my time by .240 with a reckless finish, the splits arent even worth mentioning. i'll probably submit this time (done with DS2) but i might have one last go on tuesday.

Jezus Christ you guys are fast!

And I who was thinking I could get a div.2 podium by getting a T4 of 1'52.036 and beating the gold by 3 sec.

Damn....

Cheers,

Tonight I will get back into the top 10. I'm gonna spend at least 3 hours on it and then have one massive powerdriving session on monday night. Maybe also an hour or two in the early hours of tuesday.

The problem is, I also have some final exams tomorrow and wednesday, so I don't have much time to improve my laptimes... Maybe I'll try to beat Z.'s and Puck's time tomorrow when I have a little bit of time, since they are my closest oppponents right now (even if they are Div. 2 :P)

*pulls hair out* as much as i am enjoying this test, myself & it just aren't bonding, ah well, i'll be submitting a very slow time this week, lol, but hell, it happens, i claimed to enjoy GT4, not be good at it! *chuckle* :) looking forward immensely to the rally next week! Unless its charmonix then CFm can burn in the fires of hell :P

well geee guys thanks.

i'm happy that your all doing so well, but it was three pages back i asked for some advice and your all so busy flying round the track that no one replied.

what do you have to do on here to get some help and advice to be able to compete with a reputable time??? :banghead:

CFM
Yes we're doing rally next week. It's been two months now,so it's about time I'd say. For those of you that hate rally just skip out a week and work on your completion percentage.:) We'll have plenty of rally monkeys from around the net popping in for the week I'd imagine.(Including myself):D

Rally, thats NICE 👍

:)

Don't take it personally, I don't think anyone is ignoring you on purpose. Posts just get overlooked at times with so many different conversations going on at once. Vexd posted a very thorough write-up earlier in the thread that could be helpful, so check it out.👍

actually i think it was in the D3 thread that his writeup was posted.

EDIT, found it in the D3 thread, i knew i saw it there :sly: :dunce:

Here's a naughty cos i shouldnt be here run thru:

Le sarthe:

Flat thru the first corner, near the last M sign on the right (100 or 50M?) hit the brakes down to 3rd, then turn in and floor it for control, the car steers better under acceleration.
thru the chicane, up to 4th, round the blind right near the grass, into 5th, then back to 3rd for a second to balance the car into the next left/right, as soon as you hit the left, hit 4th, then right over the crest, using all the track.
into 5th.
as you approach the first main turn onto the straight, hit 4th for the steering angle, and aim to just miss the grass on the right hand side of the course, well over the kerbs with all 4 wheels.
Down the straight, flat out.
When you get to the first chicane, count one metre marker, then brake in between it and the second metre marker, down to 3rd, or 4th if your line is perfect.
Miss the sand, and floor it asap back down the straight.
Second chicane, use the 2nd metre marker, and AFTER you pass it (immediately after) brake down to 3rd.
Use all the kerbs, and red bits, go thru as straight as possible.
Back to flat out.
As you approach the right at the end of the straight, use the second marker on the left, and brake just after it, bring it down to 4th, then 3rd as you get near the end of the wall.
Turn in to miss the WALL in 3rd, and floor it.
Flat down the back straight.
Past 2 right kinx.
As you approach the end of the fast bit, use the second marker to bring the car down to 5th, but floor it immediately to balance the car round the right towards the sand, then brake hard again, down to 3rd if youre fast, or 2nd if youre sensible for the left.
Up to 4th for the very short straight, brake well early for the right, down to 2nd again.
flat now round the next left sweeper, and as you start to go right, down to 4th and floor it to hold the car, then floor it again round the following left, flat round the next left, back to 4th for the right again, then get your line right (in early, use the whole track) for flat thru the next left.
Approaching the start finish now, here the fast boys/girls are using the whole course and hotboi is flat thru the final chicanes, so u know what you have to do.
I brake down to third for the first one, then back up to 4th and flat thru the next chicane, and over the finish.

Good luck.
Dont tell anyone i was here.

As much as i'm enjoying this race, I cant wait for the rallying. Judging by how much my driving has progressed in this race I reckon next week's race should be a good learning curve for me.

*hugs EXelero* I know you're having a hard time babe, don't worry i am too, i know its really hard to do it sometimes and this weke aintbeen kind to me either, just so you know you're not alone! :)

thanks guys. almost smiling now!!
you'd think knowing vexd personally would help but he wont give me that kind of information verbally!

scared i may get the upper hand maybe *oops choking now!!*? :scared:

lets see if i can just stay on the track once round now. really dont wanna miss any weeks racing, even the courses or cars i dont like. need to perfect them all to be a true gtp master.

Whew! I must say this is a rather enjoyable test! I was rather frustrated last night but now that I have rested up I have been able to shave a clean four seconds or so off my times last night. Really in the first sector im up to snuff but every sector after that just kinda falls off. But where i am improving the most is on the last third of the track. I think why I am falling off soo much after sector one is because I kept doing the first chicane over and over again (100 times easy), but I neglected the rest of the track. Id like to make a top 15 this week but I may just be dreaming.

Kepp trying man,
This is my first ever race in the WRS and I was hoping for a top 20 finish and I am now 12th. I reckon I could easily get into the top 10. You just need a little motivation that's all.

after i watched the f1 race, which i stayed up for at 4:30am pt till now 10:42 am

i was determined to improve my time, i was away from my ps2 for 4 days!!!

update~~!

Well my finishes are typically slower than they should be, and I honestly expect KLR to start breathing down my neck - or overtake me - at some point today or tomorrow, but mostly this is personal ... I can shave time off this, I can feel it.

If I rested on my laurels now I'd not only be banking on a weak ending, but also you, KLR and Rot not catching me (and all of you are capable of it), I'd be banking on the guys who haven't posted splits as being slower than me , and I'd be stopping when I know I can actually go faster.

I haven't had that lap yet where I go "PHEW! Can't beat that!"

But, more importantly than anything else, I do *NOT* feel safe with that time ... where are Steve57, Amp, Lemke and Solrac recently? How fast are they running?

they're fantastic times.

i'm truly not worthy your almightyness.

how the hell are you doing them??

Ugh, my brain hurts. All this hard effort going into this and I'm not happy with my time. I know I am faster (I've seen it) but I keep ******g up. So frustrating. :banghead:

Well, I just spent the better part of an hour chasing my ghost... Nat, I have no clue how I did it, and I can't repeat it, but I FLEW through the first chicane on the straight... I can match myself pretty decently if I don't go off at or before the turn right off of T1 and into the first straight(1/10 times). Then I lose a half a second through the chicane, then I gain it back and am about even by T4 or T5, and then I can probably pick up a little bit of time at the end, not as much as I'd have liked, maybe a half a second, but so far I haven't been able to keep it on the track that long... Now I'm off to work, more tonight(maybe) and tomorrow for sure. I'll find a half a second at the end, I have to. For me.

Inspired by today's F1 and Indy 500, I shaved another .7 secs at the end. :D

BTW, nice splits ... a full second ahead of me at T6. I wonder if I can muster something like that now I've had a nights rest and a full morning off?
