...But, more importantly than anything else, I do *NOT* feel safe with that time ... where are Steve57, Amp, Lemke and Solrac recently? How fast are they running?...

Oh! So I don't even get honorable mention!... :indiff:

It's all right though...I'll just keep laying low and running laps & we'll see who comes out on top! Better keep racing! 👍

PS: Here are my new splits....

T1: 29.660
T2: 1'02:036
T3: 1'28:109
T4: 1'49:829
T5: 2'17:676
T6: 2'46:376

**If I had hit the last chicance/S-section before start finish line more accurately, I KNOW I could have knocked a LOT more time off...will have to try later tonight or early tomorrow to try and lower my current T-Times....however as it stands now, I've been going at it for almost two hours and I'm really close to throwing the PS2 w/GT4 inside right out the fricking window...

Peace-

EDIT:...New times:

T1: 29.772
T2: 1'01:627
T3: 1'27:504
T4: 1'49:705
T5: 2'17:326
T6: 2'45:175

Hopefully I can keep taking it down a bit...would like to try and get another podium finish this week...
<Gives a nice subtle 'it's on!' look to those Div 3 drivers in front of me right now...:D>

I haven't been able to dedicate much time to race this week, so I just knocked off a second, these times really suck though

T1 - 30.021
T2 - 1'02.603
T3 - 1'29.057
T4 - 1'51.117
T5 - 2'18.619
T6 - 2'46.804

Tough one this week, I only managed one clear lap and then couldn't reach that pace again.... time submitted...

Need to take a slight break. I've figured how to carry speed into the long straight and it's giving me splits .5 off at T2, but I'm not carrying this through the entire course yet ... still working on it.

EDIT: phewwiiie ... it's one of those days ... I'm currently REPEATEDLY matching my T6 times, but this is no good when I've been .6 seconds ahead everywhere else on the track ... can't seem to get that flying finish I was getting yesterday. CURSES!

Kolyana
I heard they rock and I love their lines. Never driven one, but an associate tells me that they FLY. I need to get into the Japanese market though ... no offense to the American Muscle Car fans, but I just love the Japanese line much more.

If you:
1) Test drive an Evo
and
2) Can afford to buy it or to make payments on it...

...you'll leave the dealership with one. The car is really that awesome. You'll feel like an idiot for driving something else up to this point in your life. Luckily I only wasted 3 months after the car was released in the US before I got one. Even if you go drive the STi to compare, chances are you'll come right back to the Evo. It may be down about 25 hp, but you can't tell that, and the Evo will take the STi on the twisty roads any day of the week (and twice on a Sunday.)

Oh and as far as this week's race is going...I can't seem to run a consistently fast lap anymore, I may just throw in the towel and go with the quick time I got back on Thursday. The Bentley is fast...but when I'm used to the Pescarolo and the F1 car, the thing is a fat pig compared to those machines. And the fact that I can't tweak the car at all is driving me nuts...it bounces way too much!

Let me know if you drive an Evo and what you think of it.

Put in another 2 hours today, slight improvement for me. Still can easily see .5+ seconds after T6 but so far haven't been able to keep it together to get to T6 at a similar time with my ghost. Maybe i'll get one last shot tomorrow night. Hopefully i'll get lucky!

T1: 0'29.259
T2: 1'00.718
T3: 1'26.249
T4: 1'47.632
T5: 2'14.689
T6: 2'42.436

Lap time definitely not as fast as the T6 might look like. Probably easily losing another .5+ seconds in the final 2 chicanes on top of an easy .5+ seconds in the few turns before them.

This week has been a pretty good week for me. For a while there (W5 - W7) i thought i was losing the urge and drive to play GT  . Thankfully this week has proven otherwise 👍 . But i dont know about rally next week... doing a fast lap is one thing, doing a clean lap is another!

Well thanks for the pointers :P I doubt I'll test drive one for the next few months, I'll be saving the car payments I would have been making, but I can really see it being the next car I buy!

Damn that's quick, maybe you should take another 4 days off to let the rest of us TRY and catch up ;)

Z.
Crap. Just when I thought I was pulling away. :(

Very nice splits. Hope you didn't hit those last two chicanes as good as you think you did. :embarrassed:

Will give it another go in the morning, but I can't seem to squeeze everything into one solid lap.

Thanks, I try. Believe me I didn't think I could do it either but keep going and eventually it'll all come together!

I sure hope so. I made what seemed to be a step in the right direction today and gave myself a very nice ghost to work with (T6 @ 2'42.365), then of course I blew the final chicane. I swung out wide left and hit the sand before I could counter. Scrubbed off all my speed and finished .2 behind. :indiff:

I'm afraid I'm no threat this week folks, been busy in R/L.
You guys (D3) are posting some amazing times, for me to be competitive with you I would need to dedicate my week (24/7) to the challenge of chasing you all down :boggled: .
By the way, I always post any times that i have improved upon, unless it's by a tenth or so (dont want to keep Luxy & SmallFryz chasing thier tails all week) but anytime that I move above someone on the leaderboard i will always post 👍, what you see is what you get :).
Good luck to all in the final hours of this combo 👍

Steve

Man, I don't know how you guys are doing these times. I must be doing something wrong. I can't break 30 secs on T1. If I can do that, I'll probably break 1:02 at T2. I might get a little time tomorrow. If not, I'll have to submit my time and hope my T6 to finish is fast enough to beat someone.

Good luck guys. (I should be saying that to me)

Time submitted, Ts as posted on the leaderboard.

I have no time left to play; I have a rally to get ready for.

Good luck to all competitors 👍

Have you just posted slower T times than your previous ones? I don't get it.

Oh ... and ....

...I'd have more podium finishes, but I race in the same division as Kolyana damn it

AHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

You hype me up way more than I deserve ... heck, this week is far from decided with Rotbarsh on my tail, KLR closing fast and you starting to breath down my neck! I've never been so stressed out over a week's race!

You guys are awesome.

He did, however his final sector must of been lots better as his final time was faster, hence his sectors are of his best lap.

oic, I never bother updating to slower times, even if I then get a faster lap ... I only post faster sectors that result in faster finals. K, that clears that one up!

And thanks for the update ... it was a big one!

*Rub eyes* Holy crap, I'm there on the leaderboard!!?? :scared: :dopey:

Funny, I thought I should've been in 3rd-4th in D2 when I compared my T-times before the update... you're sure you got the other guys' times right, Small_Fryz? :boggled:

Anyway, heading back to the track, still not happy with my times.

yeah, nearly 100 posts to sort through, so many drivers improved also :D.

improved my time by .05 but i wasup by .7 at T6 but f ucked it on the last corner.

T1 28.971
T2 1'00.203
T3 1'25.946
T4 1'47.423
T5 214.443
T6 241.987 (first time i hit 2'41)

i will submit this time, good luck in the results everyone

Luxy, the time you have in the leaderboard for me is my illegal time that was slower than my other run's faster time. Here's the correct current times, I'll give it a go tonight and possibly tomorrow morning before I quit for this week. I'm looking for at least another .250 at the end, I'll stop once I get there most likely... I MIGHT want to chop more off, we'll see how long it takes.

Current fastest lap:
T1 29.543
T2 1'01.150
T3 1'26.780
T4 1'48.560
T5 2'16.226
T6 2'45.100

wow, if I look at the final times on that German site, I see I'm losing 1.5 seconds after T6... :/

Hmm, I need to check my replays this afternoon to see what I'm doing wrong there, because losing 1.5 seconds in let's say 25 seconds is way too much.

holly crap, those r some stunning splits.....alright, hold on, i am going to have to try and beat u cos i cant stand it when someone is up on me by 1 second at a split, and ur up by a second at T5

*grumble*

This is annoying me :grumpy: I managed to shave almost a second off last night but forgot to save my ghost. Can we avoid license tests in the future please CFM? Between the unrealistic racing line we are all taking (cutting corners for Africa, I honestly doubt I'd be able to race Sarthe correctly anymore without learning it again) and the fact that a botched lap can't be salvaged for practice (FAIL) the amount of time required to put in a competitive time this week is just silly. I mean, I have a girlfriend and a job! How does everyone else manage this?

Sorry if I'm ranting a bit, just getting a bit frustrated with this week...trying to control an LMP car hopping kerbs at 200 kph is NOT my speciality :sly:

NO!!!!!!!!!!! BAD INDIANAPOLIS! Sheeeeeit. I was doing freaking AWESOME. Probably was .3-.6seconds ahead of my ghost, and this guy is going FAST(Top of D2 fast... I slowed down after about this section on my previous best lap) and then Indianapolis comes up, and I guess I got on the gas a TINY STUPID LITTLE ANT's hair too soon, and I go wide on exit and hit the sand. I kept it safe, but I had lost a LOT of speed and a LOT of time, and went on to finish .190 behind my previous best. Gawd! Ok, back again for more... Hopefully I can repeat something like that but hold it ALL the damn way. Jeez.

Kyle OUT.

Almost out, EDIT: I also hate how most of the time the first chicane is chance good/bad for me... Half the time I go through it, going over the first part of it kicks me sideways and points me out left towards the sand that I always end up in...

AHHH! Lol, now my eyes are going hazy on me. Wtf. It's not THAT late yet, and I'm on fire! I was ahead of THAT ghost even, and then I hit sand and lost lots on the ghost on the exit before T3, and then overshot the braking before T4 anyway, and yeah. Ok, my eyes are better now, potty break and then back to lapping until my eyes STAY hazy(sounds healthy for me eyes, eh?). Oye.

EDIT: BLAH!!!! Chasing that ghost again, was behind it this time, but passed it where I messed up, and was ahead 1.1 at T6, but lost 1.2 from T6-end. Lovely, I did T6-end SO bad. :dunce: :dunce: :dunce: :dunce: :dunce:

This sucks ... come back after the week-end, and I'm like halfway down the field now ! Thought I had a good enough time for being top half, but now moving down down down ... Did 5 laps last night again and did the same T's but improved my overall time again by 1.6 seconds ... but this is still crap next to all the other times ...

Will put in 1 last effort tonight, but I don't think I can improve. There must be some turns that I take wrong (wrong gears), cause my lines are perfect (I think), so it must be gears somewhere.

Like I take the 1st chicance in 3rd. And take the turn before the 1st long straight in 4th, where some talk of 5th ...

@kragbees: yeah, 1st chicane in 3rd, it can actually be taken in 4th, but I find it requires a different line and I don't think it's really faster. As for Tertre Rouge (the corner before the long straight) it can be 4th or (a very careful) 5th, but as far as I can tell they equate to the same speed entering the straight.

The first chicane on the straight I can nail, but that second one still bothers me. If I jump the kerb on the left-hander, the car lifts off and gets horribly unstable braking into the right-hander, I find a more gentle approach to be faster overall. What is everyone else doing?

Mulsanne corner: faster in 2nd or 3rd? I assume everyone is cutting this to the max? Oh and I find the right-hand kink going into Indianapolis can be taken well in 6th, and Indy in 3rd, IF you get your braking and car positioning right. As for the Porsche Curves and Maison Blanche, what's the fastest approach to this section? I'm basically running under controlled throttle in 5th until the final left-hander of Maison Blanche.

Basically I seem to be running the course very effectively and putting in solid times, yet I can't seem to get anywhere on the leaderboard! How the heck are those guys running 2'42s on T6?!? :scared:

I think I'm gonna have one more short run tonight and then give up. Maybe the fact that this is the first GT4 LMP car I'm driving is hurting my performance overall. Anyone else never run an LMP in GT4 until now?
