Well after all the talk of FF cars in the suggestions thread, I stumbled across this Licence Test. It's an FF car that handles well, it's a track we haven't used for eons and it's a facet of Gran Turismo 4 that has only been used in the WRS once before. I know it's a lower-powered car again but I promise we'll jump into some higher-powered vehicular action next week 👍 I've gotta say, while testing I found this HIGHLY addictive so hopefully you'll enjoy it too.

Ha-ha! I've got a head-start, I've been trying to gold this one since this morning... Nice one. I'd prefer one of the more interesting pacecar tests, but this one's good, too. Thanks for the FWD, too!

First splits:
0'26.257
0'50.150

EDIT: And again:
T1: 0'26.220
T2: 0'49.770 :scared: Two aab-splits in the same lap!
And 0.950 quicker over the line.
If only those bastards gave us TCS-less licences...

And that car next week, is it going to be sticky?

Looks good, i know i have achieved gold on this licence...though i dont remember doing it

Now i wish i saved the replays from all the licneses. But then again i golded all the licenses before joining the wrs.
Well replay checking for this track will be easy. All i hate about these license tests is that you fail if you overtake the pace car which really does suck.

You won't overtake him this week, you may come close to touching him on the hairpin after T2 but it should be a pretty trouble-free run 👍

Hmmm, this may interest me...

Oh, and really sorry that I gave your hopes up for a photomode entry and a submission, just really ran out of time to do it, too much school stuff, and I also wasn't really happy that the cappuchino got all the attention instead of the Beat. :grumpy: Ah well, I'll enter this week maybe. ;) Not too fond of the car...

No dramas MINI 👍

My first splits (mind you I did put a few hours in testing it last week...just found it addictive):

T1: 0`25.890
T2: 0`49.210

Board Initialised

first splits from me. nice combo colby!

26.513 - 50.175

braking points are pretty easy this week, but gearing points are tricky. don't know yet if the mini has enough power in high revs to keep it in 2nd before the first lefthander, and what the proper 2-to-3 change rev number is. any suggestions?

are we allowed to discuss the gold border this week or is it off limits to discuss anything related to laptimes as usual?

 I'm still shell shocked from Clubman Rt 5 ....I'm apparently not that good in wimpy cars, but I'll get an early start and see what happens.

After a few initial warmup laps:

26.309
49.664

**NEW:
**26.087
**49.407

Mister Weary: Not that it matters, but my wheel is DF (Driving Force) not DFP....
This is an 'Old School' operation. Thanks

I'm missing from that update

BTW, does saying stuff like "I finally Golded/Silvered" (I hope nobody has trouble passing it in the first place...) count as laptime-related?

Sorry bout that Metar, updated now 👍

I think we should refrain from discussing what medal was won for the race, the results will be close again I suspect.

Next week I'm still not sure on a race so feel free to add to that suggestions thread :sly: 👍

Here's my splits. The best I've ever done on this license :D

T1: 0'26.111
T2: 0'49.840

I'm not much good at corner 2.

Had a few goes. Suck at T1 and last sector.

26.212
49.319

Try some more tommorow

Edit..

Next lap.., improved by .17 at the line (with slower T2) now I only suck at T1, figured out last sector.

26.264
49.348

No, contacts are not allowed... they are AI cars, stupid moving objects but still... objects

I try this some time ago, should have the replay somewhere and I will check the splits latter 👍

What about Fiat Panda next week???

Well... I disappointed with it... What's the difference 'twen week 82 and week 83??? Driving less then 100hp cars on a short circuits now with stupid sc on a track... Thousands of advantage at finish line... Nothing new...

Just my opinion... but there's a little time before GT HD will appear, so we have several weeks before it will happen. GT4 is great racing simulator with hungreds of amazing cars. Many of them present only in this game, so why we still driving mini, key cars or so??? I can't understand it. Just incredible Le Mans cars, JTCC 300, JTCC 500 cars, DTM cars, racing legends like Corvette '63 rc, Ford GT 40, so and so on... We've got great stock cars: muscle cars, japan turbo cars (like skys, supras, nsx, gto....) and many others... Why don't we drive them? We can perfom a great finish of GT4 simulator and PS2 era...

Another thing that makes me feel sad is tyres... Why do we always compete in enormous conditions? If tyres are racing - always racing super hard, if car is stock - normal tyres... Why? Since when sports, racing soft and medium tyres are not allowed???

And finally I think that reriding several laps (3-5 laps) races in GT mode with setups will be much better. We should perfom stability in race during laps. Every week we found out something new, but in license tests there's nothing new. All you need - just watch demo and do it a bit faster here and there... Nothing to learn. I hope this won't appear in the future...

Improved by a tenth over the line. I was so much faster by T2 already, but that gorram hairpin... I got a sweet line through the first and second hairpin, and the sweeping left. I can beat the example-car in any of the corners - but on that last hairpin, I just keep ****ing it up. Grr...

0'26.394
0'49.866
I've seen 0'49.5s already, and judging by the name of this week, I'll improve even further.

It's addicting alright, just like you promised. By why is the TCS/ASM on? I friggin' hate it. And Charger - if you don't like the week, don't race it - and if you want something else, write it in the Suggestions thread.

I enjoy racing slow cars as well as fast cars but yeah, we do need more of a balance.

to the russian brothers: nobody is forcing you to play wrs in gtp. you are very welcome to join other olr events within or outside gtp - there are so many. check out the paris site (forgot the name but search and find) for a complete list. i am using gtrp as a welcome alternative to wrs myself.
cyril before and now colby are trying to balance - to perfection imho - the combo's between fast and slow, race and city, gt mode and arcade, wide and narrow etc. etc. a bit of respect for that would be appreciated.
also, driving slow cars let you learn to follow the correct racing line even more than with fast race cars, so if you're a bad driver (such as myself) then it will show better in slow combos than in the fast ones.
and:
if you read the suggestions box well you'll find that a lot of guys have been asking for a kei-car combo. all you can say is that colby is reading the suggestions box too well?

colby, you have my support in this :) 👍 :) 👍 :) 👍

I agree with C-H-A-R-G-E-R as well, for times to times to try some stock cars, that would be ok... but for racing there is cars that fits better that porpouses, I can't understand why so much people even care to try to race with non race cars...

Why race cars are use in real races?
What is suppose to do with stock cars? Shopping... go from Point A to point B, not really racing! I can't understand the logic of trying to call a race using stock cars, sorry!

Uh, I was hoping for License test in WRS but why this one ??? :scared:

Just kidding, I'm sure I'll have fun just like last week.

Well... You guys are somewhat "new" to the WRS. You just happened to come in at a time where this is what we're doing right now. Next week we'll have some sticky. Look at the past weeks and you'll see that we recently did a muscle car race that covered pretty much every muscle car out there. You'll also see that we do race race cars as well. Just wait for next week! 👍

Well, I can certainly see the point in it! It's fun to race around in something that's not always meant to be raced around in. I drive a Volvo, I love to drive it aggresively, I'd love to autocross it, I'd love to turn it into a race car. It's fun! Using street cars can bring us the fun of driving our own car around a track, as opposed to racing around some multi million dollar car that we'd never have a chance to drive in real life. Granted, that's what makes using those cars fun as well! There'll be a time, there'll be a time. Just patience. I must say that I do enjoy the street cars as well though!

There's usually a lot of variety guys, don't worry. 👍
I remember one week it was a caterham, the next week a corvette. One week a high HP Audi with undrsteer, the next a bunch of oversteery, low HP Kei cars. Next week we'll probably have a contrast. Still no splits though, not even started yet.

Am I allowed to change my time? Just I've gone & set a better lap but I've already PM'd MisterWeary like I do every time I do a lap but I usually only try once.
