GT4 WRS Week 83: "Thousandths at Tsukuba"

and here it is:

25.912
49.200

I had pretty slow final sector.

P.S. - Got 25.870 one time, got so excited I went off track :-)

The last time I did this was when I first got GT4:), it should be fun to see how much I have improved:D.

oh you are probably right. i confused it with thousands but off course you don't mean 1000's but 1/1000's.
my mistake
Of?
Hehehe, cheeky bastard, I know... :sly:
So in NTSC, the TCS CAN NOT be turned off?

please tell me this is not true:nervous:
It IS true. But being NTSC or PAL has nothing to do with it. We both have to deal with it. It just adds to the challenge, try to keep the TCS from kicking in as much as possible. 👍

I've got no probs with people submitting laps from previous attempts at the licence...I guess it's to be expected that everyone has spent some time on this little fella at some point so provided they can provide a replay, it's all gravy 👍 [EDIT] This decision has been reversed [/EDIT]

So basically if nobody can beat Dans 1'25.5 on the database this week then he can win without even plugging his wheel in :dopey: ( Not that he cant go faster if he wanted to run again )
sorry mate! no offence but thats the craziest ruling I ever heard on any WRS race since I have been at GTP

would be cool for F1 qualifying that one :P ... The lap record holder (if he is at the event) gets pole by default unless it's topped on the day ;) ... but you're the boss and thats you're call 👍

cool combo anyway! will try to push for a mid 1'25 if possible for me

Laters
Ron.

I think it comes down to did they save their replay.
Because if they didn't then they will have to do the lap again.

MKI, how the 🤬 did you get such splits, on the friggin' first day? I've worked on that licence (by coincidence) since yesterday morning, and still did get near those. Oh well, looks like a new challenger has arrived :mischievous:

Wow, my wife just ran 26.1 first sector. First time playing GT4, 30 minutes spent.
I might sign her up for Division 3 - watch out guys :-)

She's very very welcome, we're starving for racers here. And NightmareHunter was the last woman to compete in the WRS... After Darren brought his wife, and you're thinking of bringing in yours, perhaps we really should do a family-cup.

New splits:
0'26.166
0'49.605
Still slower than MKI, but I'll improve some more alright. Had to lift off on the sweeper-Dunloop, because on my last few attempts (including a 0'25.9!), I ran wide. I'll have to use the grass some more. Also, on the first corner, I didn't come from the grass, as I usually do (which saves time), and didn't exit using the whole track. Had a sweet last sector though... Came close to the Pacecar on the last hairpin, and ran a couple of inches to wide, but I didn't drop below 52KM/h on the second and last hairpins...

TCS and ASM kill me... forgot how bad they hurt my driving. Just ran some laps... not anywhere near where I want to be in T times.

I'll post mine in a moment. I should get my fiance in on this action ;)

Man. I get to get myself one of these wife things....Seems like the in thing at the moment

You say "no offence" but I can think of much less offensive ways to go about making your point, such is life though. As for the submission of already saved laps, it's not something that can be policed so I think allowing any lap that has been driven by the submitting racer and can be proven if required, is fair game 👍 [EDIT] This decision has been reversed [/EDIT]

Anyway new splits for me:

T1: 0`25.824
T2: 0`48.890

I have no idea. I just...got them. brake late & not to hard on the first corner ;)

sharp splits there mate, when you jump on msn next give me a holler coz i have a point to bring up...

some new splits, finally broke into the second barrier that i wanted...

25.846
48.928

Finally had ago at this. I've smashed my old gold time from last year.

25.900s
49.298s

I stuffed up ther hairpin bad which gave me dodgy t2 but i did a killer t2 to finishish. I was .2 behind my previous t2 and beat it almost by 0.1. Now just to put a good t1 t2 and finish together.

And note. I hate this no fair. I am hopless at driving FF cars and even worse when you add traction control. Lucky that asm crap isn't on cause that would have made it worse. Anyway still fun. I'm expecting a poor performace from me this week. I will even we swallowed by a fair few d2's.

I'm not known for tactful posts at 5:10am :P I will say now that I have no real problem with it and I was just speaking my mind although a bit bluntly! again no offence ... just not used to this kind of event I suppose :dunce:

Great splits btw 👍

How are you guys getting 25.8 T1's?????

If i could get one of those then id be set!.

No dramas man, and thanks...I think this lap is pretty close to my limit, very happy with it 👍

To get the 25.8's Fryz, I'm not sure of any secret. I start accelerating just after the 1 comes up in the countdown and for the first corner I stay very wide as I come into the corner and brake just after the pace car brakes (not sure down to what speed though)

MK1
I have no idea. I just...got them. brake late & not to hard on the first corner ;)

I'm braking as late as I can. In fact, I go from the VERY outside (two wheels half on-grass), to the inside of the hairpin with full throttle, then brake during the actual inside down to ~60+Km/h, and accellerate as wide as possible (So Mr. ASM won't get upset). I've had 0'25s that way...

Man. I get to get myself one of these wife things....Seems like the in thing at the moment

Greg is out. Wife is in.

Bad news - ASM is on...

Turns out, comparing my lap to some from the GTRP board, that I even loose time down the straight . Turns out Dan started at ~5000RPM, so the TCS won't slow it down. I don't see the immidiate benefit, but that's why there are alien, as opposed to Division Slow.

You were right, Colby, this is an addicting combo. If only PD would let us drive those aids-free... You still owe us an aids-free FF. One thing is annoying me, apart from the aids: The pacecar. It's not that I hit it - in fact, the Mini is too slow to hit it while not getting out of the line. It's the lack of a ghost that kills me. I know, multilappers have no ghost too - but the lack here, especially because of the style of this combo (4 main corners, each can mess up the lap totally, 2 corners are after the last split), you don't really know how much you lost, and where exactly. At least the pacecar sounds good.

I don't miss the ghost, you can just do the math and calculate how long it takes you to get from T2 to finish.

Oops...What have I done? Racers wives thread coming to a GT forum near you? :nervous:

First splits after a very quick couple of attempts...

T1 26.541
T2 50.403

Sorry, but it was one in the morning? I'll post some proper splits up later. :embarrassed:

Darren.

It's not fair game. You can't improve your result either after the results are posted of a challenge, even though you might have gone faster by then. Same must count for times driven before a challenge starts. WRS means a week of racing, so the time must be driven in that week. Not earlier or later. People who have driven the combo before, should have no trouble coming close or improving their previous time.

The possibility you get now, is that people who want to cheat can download a replay from GTRP, change the name of the replay and submit that time. Those chances would have been slimmer when people are forced to submit a time that has been driven this week, because you can check what date the Max-file is created.

I'm a lazy guy when comes to play again the same combo twice, but I understand your points and I will not submit the time I achive 1 year ago!👍

I will return to check the next combo

Righty-O, well I've had a lot of PM's and comments in regard to the submission of previously run laps and everyone would prefer that a new run was submitted this week...as this is everyone's comp and not mine I am more than happy to make the following alteration to the Race Details this week:

Week 83 Race Rules:
As we are doing a Licence Test this week there are no special rules, simply enter the licence test and save your best effort. NOTE: Your submitted lap must be a clean run performed during the time frame of this event. Previously saved laps are not to be submitted.

Thanks to GPKart who decided to do this anyway, I suspect everyone would have re-run anyway but this just makes it official 👍

NOTE: I will be checking GTRP at submission time to ensure there are no laps submitted that match previously run laps.
