GT4 WRS Week 86: "T Minus 10-9-8..."

Mullen, how the heck did you get such similar Laps on 5 and 9? You've beaten Andy by a second, that's quite a feat...

the times he posted are his first lap, and his fastest 2 laps...

Actually they are not my two fastest laps, they are laps 5 and 9. I was just lucky that lap 5 and 9 on that particular run were fairly close to each other. Those are a bit above my average but still not my quickest in that run. I was surprised to see I am in front of some Division 1 racers at this point in time, considering I don't feel the time I posted earlier was that fast. I will check to see if I have all the settings correct tomorrow afternoon, but I positive I have run the right settings.

getting the tail out slightly on the entry is helpful in getting quicker turn-in in this car, so you can get a little more speed as you come out, so in short yes it is quicker, but you can be doing massive drifts coz it will cost you time going for the glory drifts...

Had a long session before, but couldn't put a whole race together. I think it's definitely possible to run consistent 40.2's throughout the race, even quicker for the D1 guys.

I've seen a 40.0xx on one of my runs, but as usual I stuffed up near the end of the race. Manged a clean 45.2xx on one of my opening laps too, which I was happy with considering that's 1.5 seconds quicker than my original opening lap posted, but I have only managed clean opening laps like that twice. Also, I think I've found the best A.I line up for me, which is +10 on Sport Mediums, I re-lap last and second last on lap 8 or 9 and the rest stay out in front.

All I have to do is put a whole race together and I'll be happy, which is a lot easier said than done. Might give this another shot tomorrow...or maybe now!

new splits after many many restarts in every conceivable mix of ai stupidity and tyres. almost impossible to pass ai cleanly and make acceptable laptimes.

49.943 - 43.671 - 44.191

doesnt seem like a great improvement but total racetime is a massive 6 seconds faster.

this combo with ai at -10 them using s1's. mt (3rd gear except final corner) and no aids.

Also, is meaningless contact with AI cars aloud, them coming down and bumping your side when you pass them, or something like that? The contcept of no AI contact is great, but sometimes the AI bumps you in a way you can't control, and it doesn't benifit your lap time in anyway....

Well, it's the usual Tough-combo scare that comes upon Div3 once in a while.

EDIT: I resign from this week. Too long to run, and not that interesting, IMO. Mostly, it's like an Oval Race, but with a slight twist...

If I missed the total time after I finished the race....how the hell do I find it again? I saved my race, but when veiwing the replay, the total time keeps ticking even after the race is finished.

Also, since any street sport tires are allowed, are we allowed to change this up between the front and rear, IE, mediums in rear, softs in front. etc....

I would easily participate in this race if this game wasn't so crappy. Yes, I love the game, but sometimes it gets me so frustrated I can't bring myself to play it for days or weeks. I hate waiting for it to start every time, saying, "full throttle" or "Get ready to start." What's the point of watching the lineup when it tells you before the race, and why so long? The AI kills me, literally. I'm no king of passes, but when I'm spun out in the middle of the road I assume you should go arround, not ram me? I'll be racing this and last week's races long in the future, but thins will be in time trial mode, and the Scooby one withsome AI. This race is too hard and frustrating, and last week's too boring and frustrating. Until I find a race I can enjoy for a while and be competitive in, I'll race, but this week, I haven't managed to finish it once yet without hitting someone or restarting.

With this problems at the begining of the week and being a hard race, it seems to be very unpopular wrs... AI just makes me crazy, but I remember completing Mission 34 1.5 year ago and waiting damned 118 sec there was really awful, so waiting for restart here is not SO borin'!))

pff. i'm going to submit the times i posted earlier.
I managed to be .5 seconds faster in total on another race, but i couldn't figure out for sure if i briefly scrubbed against an AI car or not, so i dismissed that one.
On another race i was couple of seconds faster, but i also hit an ai car.
I had to gamble on that one, because if i stayed behind him i would also lose time.

Well I can't seem to figure out how guys are doing 46's on the first lap.... Are you blowing by AI, or are they pulling ahead of you....because I just don't see a 46 on the first lap when fighting in traffic....

When I have fiddled with this, I am getting high 47 to mid 48 normally. So don't feel bad about the 46.

The WRS can be a very humbling experiance if you are use to just use to winning against your friends. No one I know in person can keep up with me, but here, I am just middle of the pack You learn alot, and you'll push alot more. Its amazing when I consider how I was driving a couple of years ago compared to now. You improve alot in this enviroment, so just stick with it a bit.

My advice would be just fiddle with the AI setting till you find a pack that you can easily slip around. Everyone does things differently, so you might prefer to pass differently than I do, so just fiddle with it till you find something you like.
