Sorry to see you go SWR, it was amazing watching you get faster and faster, gl in all you endeavors mate!

Jerome

Well I guess I have the same complaints as everyone else at first I thought the this weeks setup would be promising but this is a whole diffrent thing from last week; circuits are technical sure but road courses are sure as hell demanding of you.

Those chicaines sure do come upto you like a brick wall **begs for more powerfull brakes and racing tyres**.
I couldn't seem to get a clean lap, that is so much more challenging this week
and even if you get a lil bit of you tire (if only one) it slows you down or gives a nasty spill.
Those guys in the WRS Pits stop video are right, this car sure is fast, too fast!!!

Anyways, I did somehow manage to scrape up a clean lap,

T1 - 0'36.447
T2 - 1'16.397
T3 - 1'48.155
T4 - 2'14.576
T5 - 2'47.427
T6 - 3'22.901
...with these times I doudt this week I can be a competive racer and my 3'22 compaired to 3'16/18, I might not make it in the top 20, the Div3 guys just might catchup and pass me :ouch: I thought the deadline of this weeks WRS89 might be a good omen since its my B-Day, but I guess not :indiff: , oh well I keep trying :guilty:

EDIT: BTW who is keeping track of the unoffical-time splits leaderboard

Hi there.

Why all those sad faces:) Thats what its all about i think! getting medium splits and hunger to go faster!

My first splits were 3'18 and after a while im now seeing 3'13 in some of my almost clean laps! keep trying and trying!

drive firstquarter over and over again to get that part stuck in ur fingers, then go on to next section!

👍

it seems like, track to t1 is the most difficult area on whole track, but after 2 hours of trying im at those times:

0.34.519
1.12.721
1.42.746
2.07.687
2.39.554
3.13.552

grrr:( i thought i gona had that pole for atleast a day;) good driving friend:tup:

one small thing i thought i should point out, the rules say to save your replay using the "save replay" icon wherein it saves the entire session as opposed to the fastest lap. shouldnt we be saving with the "save ghost" option? it dosnt make much difference to me as i never run more than one consecutive lap anyway, and i have my current time saved both ways. but yeah shouldnt we be using the fastest-lap-only "save ghost" option?

yepp use the save ghost option! that will automaticly save out the fastest lap for u!

yep thats what i figured. it should be changed on the first post though... meh i guess it dosnt matter if everyone already knows.

Well I'm back with some new splits. Apparently this still isn't that fast, as two D2 guys are kicking my butt. I don't see how I can get more than a half second off of this at all... I wonder how you people do it, because I sure can't wring too much more from this car! :sly:

T1: 35.046
T2: 1'13.762
T3: 1'44.118
T4: 2'09.189
T5: 2'40.667
T6: 3'14.482

Well I guess even getting a 3:14:xxx won't work anymore:(. I will work on this tomorrow and see if I can go faster.

I'll be honest...I never really learned Sarthe or the Ring..... I did a few laps and got down to a 3'18.XXX final sector time, so at least I'm in the ball park of D2, but don't expect another gold D2 finish from me again this week. ;-)

submitted the 3'11.5xx t6 lap i did 2 days ago, not much interest in this week, may aswell submit early:tup:

Alright so its been hard to get clean laps this week so SimVision said learn the track sector by sector, okay thanks for the tip I try that out.

Well I tried something after my last post I did a few runs in R34's little sister, the S15, it was a real fun and pleasant drive from her POV I saw the track in a whole new light and she shed some light on certain aspects of the track (she's a bit more considerate/forgiving than her big brother :sly:).

Then I had a go at another run with R34, and cut off 2second on my 1st lap in the session!!! (usually it takes 5-10 laps for me to get into the groove of things) My lap from the start to the end of the straight was pretty solid (from start to T4) with entries & exits, but the second half of the course I braked too early here and there, even still 2seconds chopped off !!! :)
I am so excited to get back on and give it another try because the S15 showed me where I could go faster, even though she gave out a 40sec slower laptime than her big bro. I go and fix that second half of the lap, but it will be hard to mimmic that solid first half (T1, T2, T3, T4)

Now I've done a whole 180 on the outlook of the WRS89 race, I think I am much more confident about T6 - 3'18.XXX :P (thx SimVision I'll tryout your advice)

Oh yea here's my new splits:

T1 - 0'35.539
T2 - 1'15.646
T3 - 1'47.463
T4 - 2'13.333
T5 - 2'46.303
T6 - 3'21.092
L7 - ;)

Edit: Oh I just came back to this thread because I just remembered what I was going to ask.

On the Sarthe circuit there are red(brick red in color) patchs at some turns, that look like the track compound for a running track for like olympic athletes, stuff made of rubber same as the running shoe. is that considered tarmac thus part of the track?

"2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times" - what is vertically inline with the track mean exactly?
Does it mean the immediate airspace of what is considered the "TRACK" (tarmac+rumble strip)

And I thought I was doing so good, too.... :yuck:

T1: 41.361
T2: 1'27.260
T3: 2'04.332
T4: 2'34.875
T5: 3'13.308
T6: 3'53.477

Using a DS2
...and using the Nissan version of this week's car. Using the Mine's version, I got the following splits.

T1: 0'36.909
T2: 1'17.123
T3: 1'49.090
T4: 2'15.686
T5: 2'49.174
T6: 3'23.751

using a DS2 (still)

Yes, you can use the red stuff, BUT, if there are rumble strips, you can't have 3 or more wheels outside/inside of them. At least two wheels have to be either on the rumble strips or on the center of the track at all times. When there aren't rumble strips, you can go up to two wheels on the red and two in the grass, if you really want. Just never have 3 or more wheels on the wrong side of a rumble, and never have 3 or more in the grass/sand/dirt.

And of course, don't hit any walls! 👍

This won't change my rank but here are some new spilt's.

T1-34:791
T2-1:13:422
T3-1:44:001
T4-2:09:272
T5-2:40:945
T6-3:14:708

Still more time left so I will try again tomorrow. And one more thing,
is there any way I can help with updating the Luxy leaderboard because
some time's people are busy and if I could help I could update the leaderboard
when no one has time to do that. Just thought I would ask.

i wanna try & improve myself a bit before tue, but since joey/inferno is 5 seconds faster than me at t6 i gave up trying to win this week. maybe if i still learn to go round the track with tcs off i might win 2 or 3 seconds but 5 will be too much. never mind, loved to go round the track so often and learned a lot from this overpower/undertyre combo which could come in handy at another occasion.

hmm.. after busting my balls on getting to know all the corners and all the braking points finally got to scramble a decent time.. still some time for improvement though

t1-35.879
t2-1.16.066
t3-1.48.563
t4-2.14.925
t5-2.47.561
t6-3.22.849

Bigracer.. very close times compared to me

well done mar! finally got yourself through the last leg of the track in decent time.
i took a deep breath and switched off tcs. my first lap was a miracle (-5 secs) up until the final bends and then i got scared.

36.392 - 1.16.638 - 1.48.391 - 2.14.572 - 2.47.561 - 3.22.666

don't improve anymore mar cos otherwise i can only blame myself for loosing from you :) no just kidding i like it this way 👍

Haha, nice T5s guys!!! I hope to possibly get a start on this combo tonight... And actually come back with some splits!

Just had my first session...

T1 0'35.402
T2 1'14.665
T3 1'45.473
T4 2'10.899
T5 2'43.446
T6 3'18.291

Not happy with my T6 - Finish...I feel like I'm going waaay too slow through all those long curves. Couple'a days till the deadline so I might be able to knock a second off here and there.

Darren.

Thanks, that just meant my first set of splits are dirty cuz I had 3 wheels on the red stuff on the turn after the T1; no matter this time I didn't try to go 'in' the turn instead 'wide' on the outside and got a faster exit :)
here's my new times, chopped off another 2seconds off the lap time

T1 - 0'35.452
T2 - 1'14.969
T3 - 1'46.365
T4 - 2'12.248
T5 - 2'44.608
T6 - 3'18.798 (whoohoo!! I did it)
L7 - :)
Next I concentrate on those long curves near the T6 marker, like SuperT said.

P.S. This could be my final WRSweek for a while (:scared: been only my 2nd week since I joined) , I going on a hiatus cuz my college will be starting again during the next week, but I'll still check GTP with my e-mail regularly. 👍

Well, I know I'm slow as all hell through alot of different sections on this course, but I'm very pleased to see how well this time actually is. The second chicane on the straightaway, I always seem to brake way too early, no matter what, and the slow second gear corners (that the fast guys are taking in third) are killing me, I also don't seem to know T4-Finish very well at all anyway...

T1 34.067
T2 1'13.811
T3 1'44.248
T4 2'09.869
T5 2'42.047
T6 3'16.985

(looks like this puts me right in the middle of a big time gap on the leader board)

Very fun combo, good pick. It forced me learn Sarthe, and I don't hate Skylines quite as much anymore....

PS, flying out of corners at a 45 degree angle in 3rd and 4th gear with the tires smoking under acceleration, is mad fun...not too fast, but mad fun.

T1-33:913
T2-1:12:189
T3-1:42:658
T4-2:07:596
T5-2:39:216
T6-3:12:970

Not quite happy with these...
I've seen 33.660 on T1 and 11.7 on T2 but I seem can't connect it to the whole lap... For my first entry on WRS I'll go with this, since I'm not going to have time to try some more till deadline...

Time submited...

You are not alone in that gap Sean. I'm running some mid 3'16s now after finding out my only 3'15 lap was not clean :-(

Edit: Wow these are awesome splits Fizio. I guess those 24 hour races are paying off :-)

Bigracer
36.392 - 1.16.638 - 1.48.391 - 2.14.572 - 2.47.561 - 3.22.666

Look at that T6:scared:(.666). Well I tried this again and I'm done now.
I know I can go faster but my head hurt's so that's all for now.

T1-34:417
T2-1:12:622
T3-1:42:963
T4-2:07:962
T5-2:39:667
T6-3:14:020
Total- I'm much happier than my last time I posted.

So I will send in my time after this post. And no one has answered my
question about the leaderboard yet, hmm.

New splits!!! :D

T1: 34.888
T2: 1'14.396
T3: 1'45.298
T4: 2'10.814
T5: 2'43.094
T6: 3'17.750

Complete with some tail out action for extra flair. haha

I finaly managed to master (for me) the back section of the track and i'm VERY happy with the results. I'll most likely submit tonight.
