also to all: how the **** can you pass the idiots this week without being rammed in the back by #2 csl or gtr? tried a dozen times but everytime they come in from behind!

A) Checked, Can't find the problem. EDIT: Found it. Turns out I'm not allowed to use "s in the description of the race (makes sense)

B) Every GT Mode week is with settings...

C) With the gearing I described in the first page, you can pass them, and, if you brake right on time, they won't ram you in the back. Or, brake from the outside.

They shouldn't hit you if you're in the race line directly in front of them. If you're a little off to the side, they think they have room and barrel right through you.

I mean it. There's a huge gap to be filled in there, mostly on lap 2. I'm really enjoying this though. This is more fun that making iron sulfide. Well, it's close, but I'm going to have to say this is more fun. Expect an entry this week, and one that's not as lame as this.

Also, I would prefer this not go on the leaderboard until I get a sub 1 minute for the second and third laps. I'm still getting used to GT from playing LFS too much (*gasp*) Yeah, I know, "LFS?" I find the online races to be really fun, and I know some people would back me up. OT: I like to make fake 1 lap magic races in LFS against other people. It get's annoying when we tell people to watch, and they just grab the BF1 and start doing laps. I also found out that my router wont let me host, so I have to go on other servers or wait until my freinds make one for it.

(still doing it the way i did in GT3) but i cant get past the ai cleanly! planing on taking this car to free run and logging some hot laps to figure out the track. were allowed to do that right? i'll wait untill someone says yes i suppose.

Well, here's my times so far

I know it's mainly down to how well I know the track now, because I've got the transmission set to where it ALMOST maxes out before it reaches the end of the last straight.

Best setup I've seen for starting lineup, though, has got to be with the M5 in 4th place. Can you say "Draft"? I knew you could

They shouldn't hit you if you're in the race line directly in front of them. If you're a little off to the side, they think they have room and barrel right through you.

Exactly. Also, don't slam on your brakes IMMEDIATELY after you get in front of them, give them some time to register that you're there. But, for the most part they'll back off a bit. Just be sure to be directly in front of them! Hug the inside or else they'll think they can steal it from you and force you of line! 👍

I didn't have any splits because I'm still doing free runs trying to get the car sorted out. I spent over 30-45 minutes just tinkering with gearing, I think!

I'll do a few races to just get some splits on the board, but will probably go back to doing free runs for a bit to set the car up some more.

well thanks for all the advice but after tinkerig with the gearbox 'metar/hugo style' i still don't get past the ai, tho i tried several setups with the m5 in places 1-4. the gtr or csl still rams in from behind at the end of the straight.
otherwise the combo is great with the csl being one of my favvie prod cars.

Same here. I'm not getting anything that allows me to be in front before the first turn. My original suggestion last night about tuning the gears so you can launch in second seems to be bogus as well. I'm faster(at this moment anyway) using a tallll first and about 85% throttle at the launch then flooring it after the rpms drop a ways.

And regarding suspension tuning this week(and brake balance for that matter), I'm getting NO where. B-spec Bobby isn't getting anywhere either. He's getting slower, if anywhere...

I'mma just play on stock suspension, as I can't seem to get any improvement over it, and it's pretty well laid out to begin with. Stupid GT4.

Hmm can u post ur settings? couse i get past all the ais before first corner, and i launch in second gear. Some meters before the turn on the end of the straight i have them all..

im running gearing 8! with some mods! and start in second gear with tcs set to 1. and some fibbeling with suspension!

i saw my first 1'5,8** on first lap now

for those struggling with a decent chassis setup i would advise to use THIS as the basis of your fiddling.

I'm having a hard time with the car, not AI... My launches (Same as Kyle, 85% Throttle and floor it) + The gearing help me overtake all but one car on lineups 1 & 2 (M5 or M3 CSL), which is then shot down on the second or third corner. But the 1'07s are bad, probably down to my bad setup. Gearing is the only thing I'm good at

wow James thous are soom good splits but are you sure about your lap3/t3. A 56.958 is very fast and i mean fast, it's .800 faster than your lap2/t3?
A 57.958 would seem more right to me, i did a sweet lap and only got a t3 of 57.9##. Anyway just asking bud and have fun updating the board

Thanks. i've seen 58 second T3's sinse posting that, but nothing i can do consistantly. a setup will be most apreciated.

i'm now getting 58 second T3's somewhat consistantly after some tweaking, but this car is very tempermental with my setup.

Ahh, simvision, you're using TCS, that's why. I'm not. Hmm, I wonder how much it'll cut in if I use it? Might be worth trying if it doesn't cut into my driving elsewhere.

And yes, I can believe a 56.9 T3 for lap 3. It's possible, I've seen it once or twice, maybe better? I'm still way inconsistent, and may even stick with stock suspension this week.

Well it seems my time's are fast, well here are some new one's.

Total- about 3.4 sec's faster

This run felt very good, did have a close call on lap 2 but still clean.
