a ****ing miracle just happened over here in unwintery holland.

i had tcs already changed from 1 to 2 because launch slightly improves that way. but then i set asm understeer to 1 trying to eliminate some of the strange steering in this great car, especially while braking. also i changed lsd to 7/17/7 (lucky numbers?). otherwise i'm using james' settings with metar's gearing.

asm=1 is saving me 3 seconds at the finish - and a first sub 1 min t3. more to come hopefully!

Great splits James and may i ask one thing because im loosing one second to you on every lap by T1. Can i ask how you are getting round turn one and your gearing is no faster on the straight to mine? Cheers

move auto to 2 and then back to 1 (important)

I definitely have some work to do on this track (either that or my Div-2 qualifier was a fluke):

1-T3-1:08.921 (I definitely need to be less of a leadfoot right off the line, and it would be worse with the DS2)

Some quick work using AngelCreator's setup as a baseline for my unique driving style helped me finally crack 59 seconds on lap 3 (times not posted because lap 1 was dirty).

I'll have to come back to this either late tonight or tomorrow (church, then the NFL playoffs, then "24").

James, some of your settings are helping the car rotate a tad, but I'm not agreeing with other parts. Which I already mentioned.

But as Ren-Tec mentions, you're going much faster than I can manage anywhere. My BEST T1 is 13.1, and I can't find anything under a low 57 by T3, EVEN in practice mode.

Are you 100% sure that you do not have a wing on your car(either that you put on it, or from the factory in the M3 GTR...)?

Yes I was wondering this my self, because I can't beleave that I'm that fast.
I have double and triple check my setup and the car checks out to be good.
I am on Sport Soft front and rear, it has 398HP in the garage(373HP in replay),
no wing, no NOS, nothing that the car should not have. But I will check again
tonite and make sure I have the car setup right. So I will return soon.

Ok I went and check it again and I have the car setup just like the rule's,

BMW M3 CSL '03

Port And Polish, Engine Balancing, Sport Exhuast and Stage 3 Weight Reduction
Sport Soft Tire's(or Harder)
No NOS
No Wing

It all checks out. I can not say why I'm so fast this week, the only thing I can see
that would have helped my lap is I pass 1st place at the 2nd corner.

Are you using the DFP or controller? I tried your setup and wow it did not fit my driving style. Could barely get in the 58's with it. I'm thinking maybe it's best for the DS2 or something.

Na i don't use any of Jame's setup either, as it don't feel right for me and the way i drive and i use a Ds2. Can't wait to see the vid of Jame's run if sphinx will post one plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

For the first time this week I've started to feel like I can see a way to quicker times - the problem is still stringing a series of mistake-free laps together. I actually saw a 20:5 lap 1 T1 but was so fast out of the turn that I completely blew turn 2 .

This is my best so far - despite missing the hairpin apex badly on lap 2 which cost me at least .750.

Life For Speed, a PC Racing-simulation which some consider better than GT4. Certainly not because of the amount of cars (Demo has 3, full has about 30) or graphics, but because of supposedly-superior physics. I didn't like it too much, though, even with a wheel.

THANKS, played Forza, TOCA. and GT but havent much use for computer, seeing I only have a laptop and no place to mount dfp. Wheel for Forza is not as sturdy, only turns 200 degrees, wears out fast and is same price as dfp.

The main point of that post though was to remind people about my thread. If you don't know, it's to re-race old WRS weeks and post new times or discuss it. That way you can still have fun on things that aren't running anymore.

Well, it's finally time for me to give this a go and come up with something to submit. Not happy with settings this week, very dissappointing things can turn out in GT4 sometimes.

Anywho, I haven't had a chance to really try and get a time to submit yet, all my 3-5 hours playing has mostly been spent trying to tune, or trying to get around the track as fast as James, but no cigar.

So, here goes, I hope I'm happy with my settings to go at it for a while. Well, happy enough.

The results are probably not going to go along with the leaderboard, as the last section of the track is pretty important... We'll see what happens.
