GT4 WRS Week 99 : Caught doing 99 in a 40

I am using stock settings for tranny (and always have been) and I have a slower T1 but a faster T2 and lap than first post.

Took "Finals" advice and finally broke 1' at T2. Unfortunately I proceded to take out three walls a flower pot and two cats before reaching the finish so tomorrow will have to do as I've had it for tonight. I do however see the very real possibilities! 👍

edit: not that it makes a difference but, I've been running 340 the whole way!

It probably does...

I'm running 320, I'll have to try 330 now that I have my braking points down well and I can do multiple laps in a row that are consistent.

New times:

T1: 24.290
T2: 57.347

Apparently I have a superb T1 and a sucky T2, so if any of the faster guys would like to explain how they are manuevering through the multiple 90 degree turns inbetween T1 and T2 in detail, it would be most appreciated 👍

Well, looking at the splits posted so far, I'm doing pretty well (for me) through T1. But I'm losing a lot of time through T2 for some reason... Got to figure out why I guess... This is the first set of splits I have that are clean, and T2 is under one minute...

Will see if I can dust off the ole dirt and turn a few laps before deadline this round, and still maintain something for D3. Then again might need a old timers division for me to be competitive.

A whole second?? wow, I'm really glad to have been of help. you might also want to seriously consider atleast trying 330 or 320. And if you do, make sure you give them a full 3 or 4 laps each. Many people make the mistake of trying a new setting and then giving up on it too quickly. I'm personally running 320 but others are having a lot of sucess with the 330. I guess it boils down to whatever butters your muffin :)

I don't think I'm going to be getting a time in this week. i haven't run except for the first session and I didn't get a clean laptime. Since then I've been unsure as to whether i would even still be here. Today when I got home from the bar, I saw something on my MSN that stopped me from racing today. i'm still not sure but I'd rather not waste my time until i know my run will count. Driving around pointlessly isn't my idea of time well spent.

Damn, I hate deliberations. And why the hell am I still using capital letters?? The jig is up already :lol:

I think you should still race anyway. Even if your time is going to be disqualified... Because it still shows that you put in the effort, and you still submitted. If people want to believe you did the lap, good, if people think you didn't, oh well. Hopefully sometday you'll snag a maxdrive, but until then, most of your stuff will probably be disqualified because you're probably going to be that much faster than the people in the division that you qualified into.

I lost a bit of time from T2 to the end, so you may still be ahead of me. But I should be able to knock a few tenths off in my next session :)
 
I have more respect for somebody who races anyway, knowing their time will be disqualified; than for someone who chooses not to race because they can't prove it.

Personally, if the lap is dirty, I prefer someone who mentions his lap in the thread, plus replay, rather than submits it.
 
hey fellas, i never wanted anything that was dumb and shouldn't have been posted anyway ending up being a conversation piece :lol:

i had not been running because i was unsure if i was going to be banned from the site again, not because my run isn't clean. i know now that i won't be banned again as long as i keep my nose clean (which i have every intention of doing), but i still don't know if jerry will allow my run because of some personal differences he has with me. fyi, i've come to the conclusion it doesn't matter if it's counted or not, i'll be getting a time together tonight and tomorrow.

i've also come to the conclusion that my chances of having my run counted are pretty good because i don't think jerry would disallow my run simply because he doesn't like me. he's just a bit pissed off at the moment and he's a bigger man than that.
 
You might want to edit that last part out, as Jerry can do whatever he damn well pleases, and that is pushing your luck a bit. That being said, everyone's times should be submitted into the results if it has been sent on time, and if no replay is posted when it's been requested, then the time will be disqualified and made unnofficial and not count towards the leaderboard.

I'm glad to hear you're going to continue working at it and submit anyway. So when're you going to get a maxdrive?

Biggest mess-up I've had. I thought you were referring to FE, who mentioned not having a clean run... Then Kenny and I got involved in a discussion about clean submissions, and FE got back in, too. Fun :P

got a decent clean run but the last sector was fairly apalling. timing the downshift to 3rd powerslide just right so the car can enter columbus circle is a real bear but there's no faster way to do it than right on the edge of control.

Well, most here that knew me, know I do all ready had a Max Drive before I had to take a hiatus.

Gonna be quite different not having 100+ in Div 3 though :P

good luck to you man, just watch out for the brakes this week. this car is apparently only equipped with 4 inch drum brakes in the rear :lol:
