GT5 - Aussie content mentioned by KY

It has been confirmed that you can see the stitching in the seatbelts for premium cars.

As yet, I don't see the benifit of that.

It's so you can tell when they're starting to fall apart, so you can buy new ones.

Thread derailmentification imminent. Oops

By the way all, premium vs. standard is being discussed over here, too :dopey:

They are in GT PSP so im sure they will be in GT5 Bekimche.

I thought Holdens didn't get into GT PSP.

Japan is only a stones throw away from Australia. It's really not that far at all. Wouldn't even be a 7 hour flight or so. So I think there's been some stuff up in translation or the magazine editors are daft. One way or another at worst we'll get the same Aussie cars as last time - but hey, I wouldn't complain about that even if they're not premium. :)

I'd like to keep the Monaro, but a VY when the VE has been out for 3 almost 4 years would feel un-fulfilling.

Please note also, this article mentions nothing new on the interior view point, so please don't bother discussing it here.

I think it's a Catch-22.

Some of us are enthralled over that detail. I look forward to Photo Mode because of the insane amount of detail. For others, such as yourself, it means nothing. Neither wrong, nor right.

Japan is actually about the same distance to Australia as America, not all that much in it. Europe on the other hand (where Kaz turns up a lot) is a good bit further.

Coastline, which would be the nearest city to Japan in Australia, which would make sense from a game developers perspective?

Anyway, I don't think he meant it literally, but I could imagine that the connection to Australia just isn't that big.

Thats why I said from his Perspective Tokyo - Sydney would the route to get here which isn't much different to going to LA (less than a hour in worst case). I wasn't replying to what KY said, it was in response to the people that believed Australia was a stone throw and the Americas were much much further.

You know what'd be funny if a GT HO Phase III got in? Some people would come on here complaing about how the Phase III isn't faster than an Enzo and they screwed up the modelling of the car in the game. I think most Australians would be pleased if Bathurst was the only Australian track ever in Gran Turismo, is it that hard to add just the one track for us?

It's good that standard cars can roll over too. Wasn't expecting it as we knew their undersides wouldn't be modeled (and that fact was confirmed in this article).

But I guess it didn't matter in the end.

Adelaide Street Circuit would be good one, maybe Kaz should contact Brendon Pywell of Bob's Track Builder, he laser scanned both Oran Park & Eastern Creek Tracks.💡

Am i the only person that saw that line? so the whole debate over standard cars having interior should end with this! Right?

Um hidden by dark tinted glass, means veiwed from the outside.
So yes we can put an end to the argument.

No cockpit cam.

Headtracking for other views is good though.

it gives me the feeling that stadards indeed have cockpit views.

""It's just that the premium cars offer little extra touches of detail like fully recreated interiors,""

""Standard cars feature only very basic interiors hidden by darker tinted glass""

What i meant was that the cars will have cockpit view, only that the view in starndad cars will be less detailed than the one in premium cars.

just like Maxitsu mentioned above.

I think we've been here before.

i think, i hope. The interiors of Premiums is "fully": whit everything! perfect like the real deal: wires, stiches, Leather effects, Lighting, dashboard, eyetracking, extra cam's in the interiors for replays.

Standard: Will be basis in many ways. less detailed in effects and reality, stadard dachboard. no interior back view.

It has been confirmed that you can see the stitching in the seatbelts for premium cars.

As yet, I don't see the benifit of that.

Standard have interiors????

Nope. .. I mean. Nope!

Hmm...I thought there was already a thread,which I don't read anymore,where this subject is already(for to loooooong I would say:indiff: )being debated...:odd::confused:;)

Australia hardly gets any recognition :( such a shame. Phillip Island and Mt. Panorama with a GTHO Phase III would be bloody epic

AU content needs to include a black '73 Ford Falcon XB GT Hardtop Coupe, with Weiand 6-71 blower and Scott Injector hat poking through the hood...

Joss supercar. From Australia.

Kazunori Yamauchi only affirms why a lot of people just don't really regard Australian motorsport. Some believe Australia is too far away from the rest of the world to where not as many fans just really regard Australian motorsport. Only the ToCA Race Driver series has given the most relevance and regard to (especially) the Australian V8 Supercar Series. I just want to see Australia get much more properly represented in Gran Turismo. What began with Tickford in GT3 should continue with at least one Australian race course. Maybe you can't get Bathurst. Well, get Eastern Creek. Get Barbagallo. Get Sandown. Get Queensland. Or, F1 cars are in GT5, so to get Albert Park if you can.

I do love the mention of Australia in this deal. More from Holden, Ford Australia, HSV (which would be its debut in GT), and more FPV would be welcome. Hook me up with an HSV R8 Clubsport, an LS3 Senator in GT5, or even the Maloo and I'll be straight! :) And yes, love the JOSS Supercar too.

yeah great circuits.

I have to admit I was hoping for some old school Aussie v8 tourers, but this now seems unlikely. I honestly think the best we Australians can hope for is the return of the FPV's & Holdens from GT4, with MAYBE the possibility of some various FG - VE(2?) modeled Falcons and Commies.
Ps when the coyote V8 arrives, all you Holden boys will have to get used to being beaten by a 6cylT AND a wailing 5.0Ltr V8.

Please don't turn this into a wishlist.

Agreed.

QLD Raceway might be my home track, but it's not worthy of being the first Aussie track to get in GT. Phillip Island is probably our 2nd best track, and Albert Park comes 3rd because of the F1 ties.

You keep dreaming, keep dreaming.:P It always annoyed me in GT4 that there were FPVs and not HSVs, and then there were Holdens and not Fords. Talk about a mis-match.

-> We may never know until the release date gets closer and closer. So far I'm not so giddy about it. I too would like to see the Joss JT-1 (aka. Joss Supercar), those (fugly) Skelta's, the Evade, Boswell, and Elfin. But at the same time they should have couple of race tracks to support these home-based cars.

Haha I knew someone would bite at my last comment. Yeah but to be honest, the Holdens were only slightly slower than the FPV's. I had plently a close race with my mate racing an F6 against his CV8. I just hope we get that chance with an FG XR6t vs VE SS.

The problem I foresee with getting more Ford Falcons in the game is all in the name.

When you look at the manufacturers, you have Holden, HSV, FPV.
Ford, to the rest of the world, is exactly that, just Ford.

No one seems to understand that Ford in Australia, is completely separate to the rest of Ford. It should almost have it's own name, so the world recognises the cars they produce.

Whereas Holden is a unique manufacturer so you can guarantee it will be in the game. Then after that you have HSV & FPV, which are performance divisions more so then manufacturers.

I'm a die hard Ford fan, and would lose my ****, if they had an XR6 Turbo in the game, that actually sounds like my car does in real life, with a modified exhaust. I hope they have plenty of Holden and Ford Australia products in the game so we can rejoice.

Aussie tracks would be great too....:sly:

I don't mean to nit-pick, but it's a Bolwell, and I had all but forgotten about that Evade thing, did it ever reach production? The Redback Spyder is more accomplished than the Evade. Skelta is very new, and I think that the Spyder looks pretty damn good actually, all the hard top versions need their B-Pillars chopped off, the roofs are so ugly! Elfin's T5 is a great little car, and sold over-seas as well, and the MS8 IMO looks beautiful and naturally in a straight line it goes damn hard, but I hope they have a successor in the pipeline, because the MS8's chassis was never designed for V8s, and that's why the car handles poorly for a car of its weight. Hopefully a successor would have a V8-endorsing chassis along with power steering and all. But really, Bolwell is a tiny manufacturer, only die-hard Aussie enthusiasts know what one is, just like the Giocattolo, so I can't possibly expect them to be in GT5 or be let down if they aren't. As are a few other Australian cars, but cars like Elfin, Holden/HSV, Ford/FPV, Valiant Australia and the Joss, I think they deserve consideration. Skelta might make GT6, they're growing rapidly globally, and becoming very successful in tarmac rallies.

Aussie cars are a bit like Aussie wildlife I guess, some similarities with the rest of the world but each with a unique twist.

I do wonder since this is all about Holden and Ford, whatever happened to Plymouth ( or Chrysler in general ) in Australia, the Valiant also was a legendary racecar at Bathurst, right?
Did they disappear and therefore the fans too? Or are there only Ford and Holden fans over here?:)

Would you prefer a Mitsubishi Diamante then?

(got to love the bumper fitment on the above picture)

^ Yea, I kinda thought I had that spelling wrong... :ouch:

Evade-> I honestly don't know, I have to research it while I'm digging it on my VWL.

Bolwell-> So I'm considered as a die-hard Aussie car enthusiast? :sly:

Why have special treatment for Australian tracks? Most of them are pretty blah and lack character. Only Bathurst is of note. There are plenty of better tracks in other countries that aren't in a GT game yet.
