The Nurburgring in GT is regarded as possibly the best one ever created. I highly doubt they'll mess it up.

As a man who has just spent 5 months training on the Nurb in gt5 I can honestly tell you that I'd eat my left nut if there's a better virtual copy of that track, it surely does not exist.

The training all boils down to an online 24hr race starting in 7 hours... talk about suspense :nervous:

Initially, what I'm about to say may sound blasphemous. If you continue beyond this point, you must finish the post to the very end, in order to gain a better understanding of my views.

Still with us?

I hope we do get Bathurst, but I hope it takes for forever.

I know, I know! But here's why...

Assuming PD releases the track in the next feasible DLC (let's call it May), it will likely sell tons. However, being GTP members, we'll have to hear every member complain about how PD did it so quickly there, so why can't they have (insert track here). Multiply that by 10,000, or roughly the average users that don't know how to use a search tool, and hopefully you'll see where I'm coming from.

Bring on the track, but take your time PD. I'm in no rush.

But thats the Nurburgring. Its been in the series since GT4 which gave them a base to improve for 6 years for GT5. Kaz himself races there and its considered to be the best race track of all time. Somehow, I just know they'll mess something up... Whether they dont nail the dip at the end of conrod into the rise through Murray's, or the undulation of The Esses and The Skyline, Im just not sure whether they can pull it off...

By all means, I do hope they do a bloody good job...

Yeah, old PD are terrible at real world tracks, just take Spa, oh it's so awful, they really screwed it up, didn't get any corners right or gradiants and as for Le Mans, yeah, they really messed that up oh, and don't forget Suzuka and Fuji, every game it's been in PD have messed them up, same goes for Laguna Seca and of course everyone hates Tsukuba, not because it's an annoying little track but because yet again, PD messed up! And look at Monaco, looks more like Holland it's that flat, they sooo messed that one up. I really hope PD don't do Bathurst or ever consider giving us a real world track again 'cos i know they'll just mess it up, bloody amateurs! :ouch:

Here I was about to rant and rave and say "until you have actually driven the track in real life, you cant really say its a crap recreation" and then I read the last sentence ... I do have to admit, that the game recreation, and watching the races on those tracks, the tracks do seem very accurate... But its the small details that could make or break it.

The "customer help" person could've mixed it up with Race Driver:GRID's DLC.

As I recall, Grid is the only game having Bathurst as a released DLC.

In Grid, Bathurst is named "Mount Panorama"

As much as I want it now, I hope they save it for GT6. Spend some time modeling the V8 Supercar field while you're at it.

This thread has become 100x more relevant in the last 24 hours. Trying to remind myself that it's incorporation will be long in the future (if at all) and keep my hopes down, but my god...

This could be epic!!!

I'd be happy to lap it in just about anything. Except a Fiat 500. :)

You mean you don't like rolling backwards as you climb hills at full speed in the 500? :dopey::sly:

I also agree with others, but somewhat disagree. I think PD using GT5 as the test bed for Bathurst will get people wanting all the other things that come with it. However, PD might say wait for the next game and thus people (at least the enthusiast) will climb back on the wagon to go get the next GT. That is those who were loosely off the wagon and those who still play the game as if it were the first week. For those who are long time fans that are mad at PD...well that isn't for this thread.

Almost feels like the build up to if we would or wouldn't get Spa. Let's hope it ends the same.

Not as much as classics would be good. My mate has a XY GT they can borrow. But Toranas, Monaros, Falcons, Valiants etc. They were real cars, not this formulated V8 Superfarce.

I've done some digging and found this from a pretty old (September 2006) interview...

Q.And will we be able to drive around Bathurst?
Because we can now constantly update, Bathurst is in our roadmap.

And that was in reference to GT:HD 👍

EDIT: More digging found this irrelevant (but very interesting) picture...

Seeing that this has popped up again, maybe there is an element of truth to it, or just trolling. I will be holding back judgement until the next couple of track based DLC has been released.

Hell-yes.

A full V8 Supercar field from these next few years would just be joyous.

This still applies. Any formal notice of this, I'll be blubbering in the corner.

You won't be alone buddy :') I'd take my favourite car (My gorgeous LFA) up to skyline and just admire the grand mountain :) then see how hard o can go through the eases down into conrod XD

If Bathurst is going to be in GT5, that'll give me a reason to buy all the DLC's to date. I have yet to buy DLC, as I'm reserving myself for the XL which will supposedly have all DLC.

Interestingly enough, the photo that MrDinosaw94 posted shows some elements which GT5 doesn't have. Perhaps March's update will bring those?

I have a feeling that Bathurst is coming to GT5, and it is most definitely between now and the summer months and my feelings are almost always right... no kidding. It kind of makes sense with Nissan back in the running for 2013 and PD's partnership with them. Bathurst GTR?

Off-topic note - This thread has been a emotional roller-coaster. I've laughed, and then been sadden and vice-versa.

I hope Nissan use the GTR but it hasn't
Been confirmed yet. Not sure but I think it has to be a 4 door rwd V8 production car.

Sure does :indiff:

V8's COTF website
The cars will still feature V8 engines, rear-wheel drive and four doors. They'll also continue to make the same roar and be just as fast, if not actually faster.

This video doesn't really answer your question, but is pretty cool...

2013 Bathurst 1000: Sub- 2 minutes on the cards here?

An Aussie pack would be good too, but why keep modern? Why not throw an XB and a Torana in there too?

On a note of the Nissan entry: Its rumoured to be an upgraded version of the Altima/Maxima that will be revealed mid this year.

What do they lap in it now, 2:06? I think sub 2min is pushing it if they tyres remain the same. I've stopped watching V8 Supercars however if Nissan joins then I'll have to renew my interest.

Perfect news, Bathurst is one of the best and most challenging tracks in the world. I hope they do the scenery views and replay cameras well, at least five or six sets of them. I love how they made Nordschleife but the same replay cameras in every round are doing the bad job for viewing pleasure.

They will be running a Nissan Alitima Shaped with what people have been saying a 4.5 infinite V8. This year they are running GTRs as safety / track cars.

Well An average lap is usually between 2.07 to 2.13.

I am not an avid V8 Fan but I do go to bathurst every year for the past 6 years.

I have tweeted kaz for shts and giggles with various links to vignettes that have been shown on tv in the past and are currently on youtube lol
