And well you could compare a hacker to a rapist, Its the same formula, "Virtually"
You penetrate an entry point and violate it without remorse or without permission!

Reminds me of this:

Dude, you really should think again about what you've just written here..
Your comparison is just utterly wrong, from a moral point of view. 👎

Agreed, Going off topic here a lot, But when a murderer get 35 years free room and lodging's plus a $25 a week allowance, and I lose my licence for 5KPH over the limit, and lose my job, Then my house, my car, my personal life and any form of income for 12 weeks, you tell me who got the roar deal,

Dude, you really should think again about what you've just written here..

How so, it clearly states virtually,

Well.... no, I'm just saying that either way you look at it is wrong,

These cars have gotten so far out of hand I haven't been in a lobby without one turning up, Its quite overwhelming and annoying, But seriously satisfying when you beat one, As satisfying as beating a rapist presumably,

Except last time I check, video games and computers are inanimate objects that don't have feelings and emotions like humans do.

Of course, that makes your comparison with raping just so much better 👍

I'm out of the rape discussion. I've got better things to do than arguing about "hacking" is like raping. Really...

*triple-facepalm*

No, but there are rules T&C's and a TOS to adhere too,

And if you do some research, going off topic here again, you'll find that in most countries that rape is against the law, (for obvious reason's) But in others your almost encouraged to do it to an "arranged" partner, Therefor not against the law, so is it wrong?

Before I state anything further I'm going to say this, I do not by any means steal, rape, stab or murder people for fun, infact I do not do it at all, I also do not endorse it for its moral reasons, and well morals or not, in any region or religion its wrong!

hence why I have my reservations of 1st person shooters, people take things too literally or find it too easy,

Glad you added that part Dave...lol.

I think the point rarely discussed or acknowledged by most people when it comes to hybriding/hacking etc. is the potential financial loss when it comes to future game revenue. GT6 with open hacking from the beginning is a completely different animal from GT6 straight up. Try to imagine where we'd be today if GT5 was hacked in January 2011. I'd venture to guess most of us wouldn't be here, we'd be off with other sims. This entire franchise is built upon a foundation of integrity, trust, realism etc.

Now with the the GT series online, it'll collapse if you can't line up on the grid next to a guy in the same car as you, and actually be 100% certain he really is in the same car as you. Without that, there is no GT series anymore. I appreciate the work begin done with Hybrids, some of it is just fantastic, you can't argue with that. But whether it's good for the series or not is another issue. PD needs to step up and at least put some new lobby restrictions in place to keep the integrity of open lobbies intact.

I'm glad the hacking started when it did for a few reasons.

1- The game is over 2 years old and wasn't ruined from day 1. Anyone serious about the game has enjoyed it hack free for over 2 years. PD has made their money and we've received our money's worth.

2- This should give PD time to ensure the same doesn't happen to GT6 because that would be a great disappointment.

Anyway, I'm online probably 4 or 5 hours per week and haven't run into any issues with hacked cars. Having hard time understanding how some people are feeling "raped" over this.

Transformers should probably get paid.

Hacked cars been a part of the GT series since the first installment, I even was hybriding cars on GTPSP lol and racing them online.. My lil 70's Civic Veyron Powered was a beast. GT with no engine swaps is strange to me. been doing it fer years, if PD had a problem with it they wouldn't keep the car codding the same each installment, even GTPSP lol.

Its just a part of GAMING, nobody is forcing anybody to play these games, if you don't like what goes on in them online, just don't play online, the game has a single player mode too.

Its tough but not everybody appreciates games for the same reasons.

If it bothers you that much run a private room. I don't care much for the free run lobby drag racing, lounging, or derby, I just stay away from those rooms find a good group of guys/gals having fun racing and jump in.

I hope PD have learned their lesson, when it comes to encryption.

If you want something to be done right, do it yourself..

So, they shouldn't rely on other levels of encryption (if GT6 will be released on the PS3), they should pull on their own encryption on top of the savegame.. as I have already posted in this thread, if memory serves right.

*edit*

Or, just leave out the HP Multiplier. I wouldn't hesitate to investigate on a GT6 savegame then :)

Save Game uses PS3 encryption, not PD. PD has been codding the cars with the same codes since at least GT3 (as That's when I started hybriding with code breaker on PS2) Its not changed, and PD has been building its latest cars using the same format. HP multiplier codding hasn't been changed either.

I will bet duckets the codding will stay the same, I been going over it for years n years.. PD cant do squat about the PS3 encryption getting hacked, its not there encryption, GT was decoded years and years ago, since the codding is the same we just use what we already know to figure out how to make it work on the new installment.

I bet something changes.

GTPSP even used the same fixed code addresses, GT5 the addresses "float" but use the same codding, searching for part codes from previous installments reveals code location on the current game.

However even if they change the codding (they wont, pointless and costly to do something like that for no reason) its not hard to find codding in any game. Like finding your cash in GT5, look for that value in hex and edit. This is probably why PD hasn't wasted any cash to recode the extensive car database.

GT5 isn't the only hacked save game. Changing points, money level etc is a common easy thing to find in games, some codding is tricky using half values to represent whole values, but most often somebody figures it out.

Please, re-read my posting. PD have relied on other levels on encryption. Namely, what SONY has implemented.

Bad choose. As Sony might have "offended" some guys with REAL hacking skills back then, when they decided to drop other firmware just for, some guys gained proper access to the RSX (from the "other firmware" linux partition) as far as I remember. Or whatnot, I don't know.

I would bet in return that the whole exposure of the PS3 security mechanisms, wouldn't have left to the point where we are right now..

Gotta give Sony some Cred, took a long time to finally crack that nut. Longer then any other system I know of at least. If anything they had better security than any other.

The stupidest comparison I've ever seen in all 25 years of my existence.

How so? It seems only the guilty ones who have contributed to ruining the game are the ones who are offended,

Is it really rape if its not against the law? No, But its still wrong!

For my sake and your own - drop it.

It's in your best intentions.

Dude, seriously?! Are you really comparing modifying a game's coding to further enhance the experience for some users, to rape!? Thats just low man.... 👎

Why even dignify that with a response...

Not like its a new game even. Maybe I could understand the bitterness of the ignorant if it were a new release... Its not like hacking games is exclusive to GT5, welcome to the world of Gamin lol first lesson, the hackers will hack everything.

Yeah man! I say we go to a women's shelter and tell them you know how it feels to be raped because you lost to a hybrid civic on GT5! Better yet, tell women who narrowly escaped rape that you know how it feels because you beat a hybrid car on GT5! See how much they empathize with you!

Wrong pal.. I have not ruined anything and I'm offended.:ouch: Yes it's still wrong and you're way off base!

I know people (male and female) who have been raped for real. You sir are a complete waste for even trying to compare the two.:ill:

I sincerely hope someday you will realize the vast difference between your tiny little feelings. And the reality of the physical and emotional damage caused by rape, that lasts the lifetime of real rape victims!!

Okay, back on topic.

Let's see some more hybrids.

I think it would be cool to see a replica of that Mustang from F&F Tokyo Drift.

Anybody else notice the DF adjustment is tied to the Chassis code, and give DF adjustments without the need of using the GTAuto Wing if that chassis has stock adjustable DF, keeping the STD wing, using the GTAuto or remove the wing altogether, keeping the DF adjustable in all, but using a GTAuto wing will still add on 20 more adjustment clicks on top of the DF adjustments already there.
