GT5 Hybrids

That deeply touching heart-breaking paragraph doesn't change the obvious fact that you take computer games way too serious, and that you're ignorant about hybrids. They have been in Gran Turismo since the beginning, deal with it.
Post this was aimed at got deleted.

I think the point rarely discussed or acknowledged by most people when it comes to hybriding/hacking etc. is the potential financial loss when it comes to future game revenue. GT6 with open hacking from the beginning is a completely different animal from GT6 straight up. Try to imagine where we'd be today if GT5 was hacked in January 2011. I'd venture to guess most of us wouldn't be here, we'd be off with other sims. This entire franchise is built upon a foundation of integrity, trust, realism etc.

Now with the the GT series online, it'll collapse if you can't line up on the grid next to a guy in the same car as you, and actually be 100% certain he really is in the same car as you. Without that, there is no GT series anymore. I appreciate the work begin done with Hybrids, some of it is just fantastic, you can't argue with that. But whether it's good for the series or not is another issue. PD needs to step up and at least put some new lobby restrictions in place to keep the integrity of open lobbies intact.

If that happens it's down to PD's stupidity, or ignorance concerning the problem. They can change the structure of the game save for example, read all car data from game data, only save the changes (tuning, settings, mileage, but NOT the current stats), exclude things such as power/weight/etc multiplicators from the save (there's literally no use, or even access to them, unless you are trying to exploit), or leave it with the current structure, and adapt the game to hybrids by letting us create hybrids in the game, which of course requires detailed restriction possibilities online, offline, and in any kind of challenge or trial if there are leaderboards. They will have to find a solution like that to both satisfy the people who like to create reasonable hybrids, but also keep the game under control.

That is such a massive re-design at this stage. (Re-Design = Expensive)
I'm actually starting to wonder if this will be patched at all.

The first thing that needs fixing though is Sony's Save Encryption.
If Sony want to patch that. It would be a bother but not impossible for a patch from PD to verify each car in garage, then a hash of the car's data to 'ensure' it hasnt been tampered.

@ murphsmoose

You sir, are a total troll.

Getting by, encumbering about how violating the TOS interferes with YOUR gameplay..

like:

[...]those who choose to violate the TOS with PD and PSN should not interfere with my game play[...]

and, on the other side:

oh and by the way I dont give a @#$% about double posting.

"dont give a" ?whatever? about the GTP policy as described in the FAQ.

Like double posting:

Read this...

I guess, thats judging on whatever is needed to just fit YOUR sight.. In MY sight, you are a first degree troll 👎

Beaten up S14 with simple LS engine swap, lowered suspension, wingless (looks fantastic), S15 RM chassis (good stance) = best experience I've had in months...

Painting unpaintable cars, driving any car on dirt and snow(even the ones that can't originally do it), and obtaining secret cars, more fun than I have had years!:D

Yea I did think those were the best at first but there too hard to drive sometimes. Now I prefer more realistic and functional ones. I have some plans to do some silly ones but there going be easy to control unlike others.

I was checking out one of them "Hacked Cars Only" Rooms just checking out whats going on, I was sitting there parked getting lil giggles off the silliness going on. Beyond running the ridiculous 24k hp cars, they were talking as if they were running the absolute best cars in the GT5 community. I was about to leave when suddenly I became the room host. With people still jumping in the room, I wondered. Hmm how good are they? RACE START lolololol They had the room set up as a Race for Fun, not a free drive even though they were just lounge draggin. I hear a bunch of, "Hey, why did the race start" as the count goes down, I was thinking most would bail, but they stuck around.

The race looked crazy till turn 1. Everybody got off the line fast and left me in the dust with my Civette. They all went right into the wall on the first turn and drove around as though they were all on bald tires from the start. I just cruized around the track to take the win laughing like a nasty hyena.

Im not surprised about what happened at turn 1. All these silly 25000HP hybrids are so hard to control, you literally hit everything in sight and can't steer with out spinning out.

The novelty of breaking the "in game" sound barrier died rather quick for me, like ohh it goes quiet, then BORING... That's just me, if you like it, keep on doing it.

What I do is make replicas of cars in GT games. Even in Vanilla. Before the hacking arrived in GT5 I made 20 Nismo R34 GT-R Z-Tune replicas. They all sold really fast. They were near exactly the real thing not just in looks, power or weight. But in all the little bits too. I made sure that the weight distribution was the same in the Z-Tune, the suspension, camber/toe, torque, LSD, Parts, and gearing. So if you want one. Just call me.

I got bigger fish to fry then some kids making "Hacked" car rooms, Ive not seen any advantages when the race is PP, Tire, and Assist specific that aren't solved with a simple kick of the guy with the negative PP Red Bull. If those hacked car rooms were not there and there were no hacked cars, there would be chunk loads more of bad drivers messing up races all over the place lol... Think about it. All they do is drive back n forth in straight lines pretty boring to me, but if the bad drivers like that stuff, let them stay in that room all together.

I got a issue with getting rear ended into the dirt by some Joe Blow using me to slow down enough to make his turn, and its always just oops. Seems some races start off as a destruction derby everybody just floors it rear ending who's in front of them. So what? Take off impacts & take the skill out of passing? Even had some kid just driving slow and try to get in your way as you pass him, kick that sucker, but only after plowing into the dirt from him swerving in front of me as I went to pass him.

At least most Hacked cars are in "Hacked Car" rooms, its good because all the majority of people seem to do is hack hp into stupidity and break the in game sound barrier (just goes quiet) and spend hours just racing each other in straight lines because they are just pitiful in any kind of turn.

I've actually NOT run into any legit swap cars online. Where are the Legit Swap Rooms?

I have had many rooms let me keep racing my LS7 powered RWD Civette, probably because I never win with it lol get some podiums but never tagged a first place, probably because the Mods I did to it raised up power too much (940hp), and the power restrictor is on high to tone down that 940hp into moderate numbers so I get into the PP class & whats left after is not so impressive lol, But I have a good time. I'm always honest I'm in a Hacked car, and while most rooms will just kick you out some will let you in on the racing. I suspect if your snagging first place too often they might change how they feel, I switch it up to STD cars if anybody is feeling the 2nd or 3rd place I'm tagging is more from the Hack then the driver. I take First when I jump in my HKS Killer (My NO MOD go to racer). Most often when I can tag a 3rd with the Civette I tag First or Second with the HKS.

In some crowds the drivers are just too darn good, and consistent. I think I'm faster then most, but 3 or 4 laps I'm starting to get distracted, thinking about BS when I should be focused on driving (I guess focus is my issue, but ADD what can yah do) some people are just too darn good on the Track and so consistent there is no waiting for them to make a mistake. Its because of this that in spite of all the crap (hack crap or no hack crap) there is some awesome GT5 racing online... THAT is what should be focused on. Not nit picking over what the other guy is doing. Nothing stopping anybody from making an invite only room, what the truth of the matter is, In the eye's of the Dye Hard Fans people hacking cars don't have the same respect for the game they have, they wish the online world is something that's its not. I don't see it that way. I've been die hard GT since GT came out in the late 90's I've bought each installment even though some have been rather disappointing (GT3 for instance, GT5 Prologue, and lets face it GT5) This game is not HALF of what it should be, I feel I'm only hacking in some of what I feel the Game should of had from the start.

In life there is good and bad in everything, WE get to choose what we focus on ;) ...

So what exactly is your point?

Really!?!?!? WOW! Whats yours lol...

Mainly

In life there is good and bad in everything, WE get to choose what we focus on ;)

but also

That there are bigger problems then some hacked cars in a hacked car room, hacked cars are in NO WAY killing GT5 online, and its only people who focused on hacked cars that have a problem... If they weren't so bent up out of shape they could appreciate the great racing that IS still there online alive and well.....

AS you can see I modeled my Civette after a real LS swapped RWD converted Civic.

I also like VR6 Swapped Golfs, Silvias running RB26DETT's (with full GTR Altessa conversions), 4G63's stuffed in any eccono box (lol), obviously LS1 Swapped RX-7's, Chevy Blocks dropped in Chevies like the L89 or Ford 427's dropped in fords, or the Cammer in Fords, Ive seen even the V12 from a Jag stuffed in a Miata, all real life swap.... I don't see why I should feel bad for doing the same in the game....

the "practical" hacks are the worst for the online gaming on GT5. Because those can be used to CHEAT legitimate gamers.

They are also the best. It just depends on the person you are talking to. If they would rather say "yeah it is a normal car" when it is really a hybrid than "ok i will get a none hybrid out" and actually do so.
