Besides, I'd rather the work that would have been spent making a demo be put to polishing up the game itself.
If that's the case, it sure hasn't stopped PD creating a dozen or so demos over the last few months...;) Not that I need a demo since I'm gonna buy the game anyways.

Think of it in extremes, a hot soft tyre is like a marshmallow and a cold tyre like a piece of plastic. The marshmallow will just absorb everything better including vibrations unless you have tyre chatter. I'm no scientist or anything but I know from personal experience that hot tyres barely make a noise. Cue RedSuinit suddenly posting Youtube videos and telling me I'm wrong.

The tyres must be pretty hot after all that abuse, yet they still screech like mad

Let me guess the tyres are still cool right?

people said any additions to the game are welcome so the tumbler would be a bonus, imagine the cockpit view. It wont be the like what we see on screen with the huge jumping capabilities, but what it really is like off screen. Sound reasonable?

Actually yes they are relatively cool and you are mistaking surface temperature for carcuss temperature. A car that's been circulating a track at over 200km/h, braking, cornering and evenly loading a tyre will have hotter tyres than that M6. I've melted race tyres before, but I've only ever torn strips from tyres while doing burnouts.

did'nt know the tumbler was a real car ! could be great trying to drive that big monster in a gt simulator : D

Well the problem with this thing is, that it wouldnt work. The tires are too wide, the thing looks like it weighs like a tank.. On most tougher corners you'd have to reverse it mid-way just to get it arround.. It also doesnt have a purpose and therefore, no place in the game.

I forgot about that Master Car List being locked. Does that mean the latest cars from TGS can't be added to it? :(

I liked to keep count of them every now and again. Last count was a bit over 200 odd, but that was before TGS.

That sucks, I guess I will not buy the game because I have no way of knowing if the game is good.

There is this place called a "video store" where you can go and barrow movies and video games for a short period of time. Or you can rent it from Gamefly.

But there are between 15-30 million people who have played a Gran Turismo game. Considering that Prologue, a so-called demo, was a platinum game on pre-orders alone, I don't think SONY has any worries. Besides, I'd rather the work that would have been spent making a demo be put to polishing up the game itself. And if anyone doesn't think GT5 will sell like tacos, and pull a lot of PS3s and Logitech wheels with it, prepare to be surprised.

Don't get me wrong, I'm quite sure GT5 will sell. A lot. I just think it would sell even more if it had a demo. It only makes sence, as far as I can tell.

And we would get to taste it a couple of weeks before the release :sly:

well I know a few people who wont buy GT5 because they didn't like prologue, but I think if they had a demo to see the new GT5 has changed so much they would probably buy it.

Agreed. Kaz himself said at TGS that GT5 was completely different from GT5P. Everything has changed. Heck, even I gave GT5P a 4 out of 5 because of the jagged edges. but I know GT5 will be a 5 out of 5. (By the way, Gran Turismo is the only series to consistently get a perfect score pretty much everywhere but GameSpot but they never hand out a perfect score.)

I totally agree ! I prefer they release a demo when the game is finished not now, now they need every second of their life polishing and debugging the game and getting rid of maximum of annoying screen tears and slowdowns ! amin

Exactely my thoughts. Is he able/allowed to re-register as a new member under a different name? Would be cool, he was a great guy here, but somebody thinks else...

He did make a new name, which got banned.
I'm not sure why he did it or if it was him making the 2nd, almost identical, name.
