Yeah but it it is true than can't wait,I for one don't think GT5 will get lower than 9.5 on any gaming site.and must be guranteed a 10/10 at OPM

The review build code is differente from the final build of the game , this is nothing new . PD will probably have 2 more weeks to finish the game .

It's not really that soon. Magazines are going to need the review code for their November issue. It should be noted that a review code and finished code are different though.

Yeah your right, they need some time to play it ;)

Wow. That's quite early.

People do get GT5 copies early from the Subway Competition though. So I guess now is about the time things start getting wrapped up.

Interesting if the final code ships to reviewers only get shipped 2 weeks before release how on earth will they have time to complete a decent portion of the game to give us a true indication of the game.

I'm one of those that won the Subway contest but I don't expect to get the game until a week before the games release at the earliest. Someone won the Move bundle from them and I think they got it a few days before it was in stores.

In like two weeks I'm thinking of making an media black out, to stay spoiler free. It will be pretty damn hard :scared:

lol, Yup a couple of users should be getting it early. I don't mind though.

Thinking about it, with the delay in the uk, I'll probably be begging people to give me details with the 2 day wait.

Quick question: How do review sites test the online component? Do they have a private server to play against other review sites?

Maybe / probably; that and there will possibly be a small "beta" team assembled by Sony to keep the numbers up during the review window - the online stuff must already have been stress-tested recently, so you just keep a few of those people on board.

At least, it would seem very silly to me if that should turn out not to be the case. It's vital they get a proper online experience in order to review it properly, given how integral a feature "online" seems to be.

Mind you, I've read reviews before now which stated the online section couldn't be tested because it wasn't functional / had no servers / other players etc.
I doubt that happens with the big-buck titles, though...

Don't get me wrong, I'm quite sure GT5 will sell. A lot. I just think it would sell even more if it had a demo. It only makes sence, as far as I can tell.

And we would get to taste it a couple of weeks before the release :sly:

I believe Sony and PD have studied very thoroughly which is going bring more income to them, to offer or not to offer a demo for the public. If they have decided not to offer a demo, my guess for the reason is this: There are a lot of those people who are not as hardcore fans of the series than most of us, but they do have a ps3 and they do like cars very much. For some of these people the hype around the new game works effectively. They have heard of it a lot, they think they'd most probably like it, and they'd really want to try it. When there is a demo available in psn store, of course they'll download it and have a blast. Now their curiosity has been satisfied, and they'll may never end up buying the game itself. The demo did the job already. On the other hand, if there wasn't a demo available, the only way to get hands on it would be buying the game, and so many would do when seeing it on a shelf in a shop. So, if the number of those people who end up not buying because they already had the demo, is larger than the number of people who won't buy the game because they would want to test it with a demo first, there would be no sense in releasing a demo. That's my reasoning and as I stated, this is just a GUESS.

By the way, Hi to everybody! This is a great forum! All the speculating and digging for bits of info makes reading this like watching an indiana jones film :)

Welcome, in fact GT5 now even includes a vehicle which also appeared in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" if I remember correctly....;)

Now for something completely different, does anyone else have any idea or assumption how this new Gift-feature will work in GT5?
If you give someone a car ( or tuning parts ) will that mean it's just a "copy" by which I mean that you get to keep the original car in your garage?
Seems logical to me as otherwise in some cases it would be extremely generous unless you're getting something similar in return ( that probably makes me sound like an awful selfish person which is only partly correct ).

And what would the implications of this feature be, I assume there will be a frantic exchange of Stealth cars between those who pre-ordered but would it also mean that if you're one of the first to unlock a rare car ( for example a McLaren F1 ) and take it online you will be greeted by friendship requests or people literally begging for you to gift it to them?

I would of thought that you could purchase the Part / car as a gift to one of your friends and next time they came on would recieve your gift ,so if that line of thought is correct you would keep your car in the garage.

I don't see why you would get to keep a copy of the gift you were giving away unless you bought two of the items. I have never gone to walmart and bought a gift for someone and then after giving it to them had another of the gift at home unless i bought two of them. I think it would take away from the whole gifting process and the game itself if everyone got to keep a copy of something they gave away.

I guess it could work both ways but I'll have to agree it would become a bit meaningless if it's just sharing with you keeping the same "gift".
Might be nicer, on a personal level, to indeed grant someone a car for whatever reason, otherwise people could just freely exchange cars with everyone which would make it a trading game.
Was just wondering out loud and asking how it would work, maybe I didn't fully think it through.:ouch:

It is certainly possible. But I think the people who would be satified with a demo are those who don't really care much about the game and would end up just renting it once, instead of buying it.

Well, dunno. I just thought a demo would help increase the hype, not decrease it. But maybe the hype is already so high, that experiencing the real thing would only let people realize GT5 is still a game

I had the chance to play the Best Buy demo (with a broken controller) to get a feel of the new physics engine, but have decided since not to return, but wait for the game release, so as not to ruin the experience. :)

I think the hype is on it´s maximum and even if they annoy us with it, they do a great job to offer very less content of the game... I really can´t wait to get the game... And I really hope for Sony/PD that it will be the most selling game on the PS3 because 6 years of work is really crazy... They gave their best, even though people are still crying about little details like 2D trees and 2D crowd...

And tire sounds, skidmarks... All smaller issues/features that will make it into GT6 and could make GT5 (even) better (and delay it even more), but their absence will not make it worst.
