I think Best Buy is the only major US online retailer still taking pre-orders for it. GameStop and Amazon have run out of their stock.

Kinda represents todays news and some seriously silly but comical posts.
Interesting, I have not received any notifications from Amazon regarding my Collectors edition pre-order.
So i was on kotaku, yada yada yada, someone posted this pic in the comments. I found it funny.

Only on for a minute this evening so I can't wade through and see if someone else has already posted it (so my apologies if a repeat), but I got an e-mail today from Best Buy Canada stating the release date for my pre-order of GT5 is now December 31st.
The date that the retailers are giving at this point are just a place holder & will more than likely change at the end of the month IF PD provides a new release date.
I don't buy the, they missed the blue ray processing theory.
Think about it.
You don't just book up a company and say " hey, you ok to knock off 7 million blue rays for me". With out either laying out cash upfront or paying some cost to their lost revenue by hanging around not making blue rays for five days.
If I book a holiday and I don't turn up, it's my loss I don't expect my money back.
If it is true then Sony have lost some revenue on this cockup.
Have a guess who will pay for it. That's right us the consumer.
Nice one Kaz.
The new Blu-ray Disc plant is the only one of its kind in the southern hemisphere and includes three Blu-ray lines; one dedicated solely to the production of PLAYSTATION 3 (PS3) games and two for movie and other content, with a production capacity between them of 12 million discs per year.
