Kinda represents todays news and some seriously silly but comical posts.

LOL! precious

The Firmware update is the most likely cause for the delay.

The one thing that would ruin the games release is if people could play it for free! This is a much better outcome than PD and Sony being screwed over financially.

Only on for a minute this evening so I can't wade through and see if someone else has already posted it (so my apologies if a repeat), but I got an e-mail today from Best Buy Canada stating the release date for my pre-order of GT5 is now December 31st.

I might keep my collector's edition in its wrapper and buy a standard version. Since the CE is sold out now. Might be worth a lot someday

The date that the retailers are giving at this point are just a place holder & will more than likely change at the end of the month once PD provides a new release date.

I don't buy the, they missed the blue ray processing theory.

Think about it.

You don't just book up a company and say " hey, you ok to knock off 7 million blue rays for me". With out either laying out cash upfront or paying some cost to their lost revenue by hanging around not making blue rays for five days.

If I book a holiday and I don't turn up, it's my loss I don't expect my money back.

If it is true then Sony have lost some revenue on this cockup.

Have a guess who will pay for it. That's right us the consumer.
Nice one Kaz.

In this case Sony owns the Blu Ray plants...

I read that Sony opened a Blu Ray plant in Sydney, Australia last year, and I'm sure there are a few around the world

The new Blu-ray Disc plant is the only one of its kind in the southern hemisphere and includes three Blu-ray lines; one dedicated solely to the production of PLAYSTATION 3 (PS3) games and two for movie and other content, with a production capacity between them of 12 million discs per year.

Gotta ask... why pre-order from them over GS? They don't seem to be offering any kind of deals. GS just happens to be closer to me too, which made my choice easier in this town.

I wished Sony produced enough to honor the Collectors and Signature Edition pre orders, and then the rest can wait!
People who pre ordered these more expensive packs deserve that at the very least...

magicalgin-> Not sure, got that from FaceBook...

BT-> I would also think that this delay is a good thing! *no more bugs!*

From what I'm seeing, you don't believe in anything other then the blame game. Honestly, you and many others really need to stop with the finger pointing at Kaz. Its not helping and he is the wrong person to be blaming for the delay.

you'd have thought gt5's advertising would be pretty much ready to air (europe, usa etc), booked into specific time slots etc. surely it'd have a bit of a knock effect to that as well.

also we heard he gt5 review embargo would be lifted 27h/28th october... will the delay will that still stand?
