Sorry to ask as I never noticed it but what was wrong with the RPM gauge on Prologue's SL55 AMG?

The tach (RPM gauge) needle while using interior view only uses half the gauge, so when the engine is on it's rev limiter it is only showing around 2500-3000rpm on the tach which is the half way point.

The SLR video above seems to have a out of sync speedo aswell as the Miura concept in the gamescom demo, not to mention the tail lights dont seem to work aswell (Muira concept)

so..we're killing space, basically?ok,question.can i get my Logitech drive FX steering wheel to work with ps3? It is via usb, except,I got it for my 360...

I've just checked this playing Prologue and it seems you're right, the rev counter dial on the actual dashboard of the SL55 AMG only goes to about 3500rpm or slightly over ( the dial only pointing upwards not going further to the right ) whilst the revs displayed in the HUD show 7000rpm at the same time.
Maybe it's got something to do with this car being an automatic and they collected the data whilst in Economy setting........

Any of you guys in the market for a dfgt they have just had a price drop at argos to £71.99.
Ordered mine last week at £80 there just back in stock and have had this price drop so i'm well happy :)
:EDIT: I posted this here as it may be bennefitial to more members rather than in the wheel forum (its there aswell)

I just bought this :)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200531799992&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:GB:1123

But the guy just messaged me saying 'If you pay an extra £1 GBP to my paypal for registered air mail then the item will be safer from being lost'.

I feel unsecure now.

I also asked him how he got the model when CE isn't out yet.

To me, judging by the paint finish on the front bumper it looks like something someones made themselves, quite well done, but the paint finsh just doesn't look wuite right.

I don't know...It looks almost perfect except for one thing, The stripes going over the hood & roof. I can see them vaguely, but on the official GT image they are more visible.

And how would he know what the rear looks like as I believe that is the only image we have.

My guess is just bad quality photographs, but then the www.gran-turismo.com sticker on the side is slightly higher than on the official image too.

Here's the original. Either that guy put his own stickers on (unlikely of course), or these guys make the collectors edition car.

Yeah the 1:43 car that comes with the CE is made by Kyosho. I'm guessing that (Living in HK) he has contacts (he sells a lot of diecasts) and managed to grab 4 of the models to sell.

I'll just have to wait and see when it gets here, it looks pretty good quality so I don't really mind if its fake xD

Bro all the fake stuff on ebay is always listed Hong Kong or Taiwan.

Wheres the Racing Stripes that are found on the CE model?

You can see them vaguely on the roof here.

I'll just wait to see the guys response, and if he has made it I'll probably cancel the order. Maybe. Don't really mind it being a fake.

Edit:

He just sent me a message on Ebay and he is going to mail me another image which (hopefully) shows more detail.

Maybe it's just me but I don't get this obsession to reach 2000 pages before GT5 releases, sure it's symbolic of the time it took and the enthusiasm displayed around here but still.
I thought it was the quality that mattered, not the quantity, and it's not exactly that hard to reach now is it?
A few extremely large pictures, a question about Porsche being included prompting several responses or mentioning a certain GT5 competitor are all what is needed.......

Very well put analog, you're one of the very few posters I actually enjoy reading on this section. 👍

Concerning the speedo in Prologue's SL55, I honestly never noticed and hopefully it will be fixed (As well as the Miura lights), but I'll feel relieved if the majority of bugs in the game are of this small scale, as long as they doesn't compromise the playability aspect of the game I'll be fine with them.

On the same note, it will be quite a shame for PD if we actually find the same bugs when playing the game, I'm an IT guy and I know that software projects must meet some quality assurance goals and functionality targets, some bugs always go through unnoticed and are acceptable if they doesn't compromise the functionality of the system per se, but after saying they were polishing the game to be perfect you would expect them to test the game until the disc bleeds, and hopefully they'll do.

Perfection is a very strong word, specially in the fanboy-crammed Console-Sim racing war.

wow thanks, I'm now a lot more confident that this item is real, in some places it looks better than the 'real model' haha.

*Sorry all, I realize there is a die cast thread but I feel this is GT5 related as the model comes with the CE, there may also be people on this forum who are interested in such a model who do not usually browse the die-cast thread. :)

edit:
Looks legit to me, can now see the stripes etc.

Yep, looks pretty legit to me too. The pictures you've got is in another lighting, so there's gonna be differences between them and the "real" pictures.

Thanks Dan, looking out to show you the beautiful rear lights of my car online.;)

About the SL55 AMG, it's not the speedo ( as that could be logical sometimes I guess and will probably happen when you tune certain cars in GT5 to reach a topspeed which that car, and their speedo, weren't designed to reach ).
It's the rev counter which stays at around 3500rpm max when the actual revs reached shown by the HUD display are closer to 7000rpm max.
A bit odd, hopefully fixed, point is I never noticed it before but after being made aware of it I know I will probably notice it each time now.
Nothing major though, at least it has an interior at all.......

Were the die-cast models in the We Love Cars commercial/behind the scenes the same scale as this GT-R? (1:43)

@Lilday

I think it looks legit. I'm not an expert in photography, but it seems there is a legit reason why the stripes show up better on the official site.

It appears in the official picture, they darkened the room and used a strong flash. Those stripes reflected that flash back and it made them show up much better. However, the Ebay photos are taken in a lit room. So, the flash is either not on, not as strong, or just isn't having a big affect in the lit room.

Just my take.

I found some differences between the model Lilday bought and the pictures linked to on the official site. Look at the GT logo on the back of the car. On the official model you'll find a GTR logo right below the T but there isn't one on the model that Lilday ordered. There also isn't a Nissan logo on the back of the car and the GTR logo on the grill on Lilday's car either isn't there or its faded as you should be able to see the red R.
