Anyone who'd criticise GT4 for oversteer is someone who isn't worth bothering with.
This comment got me think...

There are some people on an italian forum who are criticising the fact that on the Prologue there are too many steps for TCS and ABS adjustments.

What would you tell them? That it is normal to train with TCS set at 7 for example, then decrease slowly?
(by the way I gave up fighting with these people a long time ago)

So in the US you can get the G27 for $209.00? (£130.00 GBP)

In the UK the G27 is £329.00

what.

I have seen that website before. Everything they sell is mysteriously cheaper than every other website on the internet. I looked them up and did some research, and found that they were probably the dodgiest 'online shop' in existence'.

You can find lists of hundreds of people that fell for the cheap prices, ordered a product through them, had the money deducted from their bank account immediately and never received the product, with no way to reclaim the money back. The company also do not answer or reply to customer complaints. I'd stay well away if I were you.

I know of two people who have used that shop. My grandfather bought his TV from there, and that was all fine. One of my friends bought a Samsung computer monitor, which didn't work, although they did replace it pretty sharpish. Those are just personal experiences, I wouldn't take them as representative.

One of the writers from EGM had some pointed words regarding GT5s physics.

"I have always felt that Gran Turismo cars oversteer and dont weigh enough, leaving them feeling stiff and unrealistic. The obvious measuring stick is the physics engine in the Forza series, which is particularly gratifying in tight corners, where the weight is shifted over the wheel base. I know that many GT5 fans wont agree with me, and this game for them will probably feel right at home."

I actually agree with this. Although I love GT, the physics always felt a bit stiff and lifeless to me. When I play Forza, it feels like when I drive my own car. You can really FEEL the turns, they are such a joy to take.

I dont know what the issue is with Polyphony, when I play any GT game, they feel like a videogame that is unable to capture what it actually feels like to drive a car.

Have you tried GT5 at all? I have... twice. So for you to pass comment on GT's physics, I'm assuming you're referring to GT4 or older. And I can honestly say the physics in the version of GT5 I tried is the best and most realistic I've yet played on a console (my opinion). The feedback, weight, speed is second to none. Sound a lot better too, but not heard the sound fully to the annoying show floor music blasting out. I first played GT5 at the PS Beta Rooms in August and then again at the Eurogamer Expo at the beginning of October. Forza 3 (imo) doesn't come close in the Physics dept.
I'm not flaming, just stating for you to comment on Forza having better physics it'd be nice if you'd actually played GT5 in any guise.

May I ask when the last time you played GT was? GT academy had much improved weight transfer physics. And that was a while ago now.

However many of us with no interest in the PS3 except as a machine to play GT missed out on that - personally I bought my PS3 in June, once there was a confirmed release date that I mostly believed.

Based on Prologue and GT4, those statements are very true. That lack of weight really surprised me in GT4 specifically because the first two games had amazed me with the level of feel they could provide on a home console through a regular controller - the first time I had a car dive left under braking for the first corner of Grand Valley, the back end of a lightened RX7 getting twitchy over the crest before the finish line of Midfield, these were the sort of genre-defining gameplay moments that one remembers a decade later...

I'm assuming things have improved from Prologue - hell, I'm hoping they have since I've invested at least a PS3 and a copy of GT5 into finding out - but based on what many of us have seen so far there's a lot of need for faith.

That's very reasonable. However without the opportunity to play any form of "real" GT5 - especially the lack of any persistent demo of anything post-Prologue - all that the rest of us can compare with is the things that PD have seen fit to sell us. On that basis, for most impartial people*, Forza is way ahead of GT at the moment. I'm very much hoping that will change, as you and others suggest it will.

*There will always be those who can't be impartial - those who will swear that GT4 is things it sadly isn't (rather than saying that they enjoy it, which is just fine) and those who will swear that FM3 is better than GT5 even if GT5 delivers the experience we're all hoping for (or expecting in the case of those who've enjoyed the demos. Hmmm... is it me, or is this forum hyper-sensitive? I'm not sure I've ever felt the same need to include disclaimers throughout posts on the 'net before.

I agree with cygnus that in previous GT's (even prologue) the car has never had a real sense of its weight, and in the turns you never really felt the weight of the car shift from side to side, but in the GT5 TT demo I thought they almost nailed it, you could feel the cars weight being shifted and transferred, and I'm sure that in GT5 it will be spot on.

.

Yeah, physics are much better from prologue. Don't worry.

I say like the rest of the guys says; don't worry 'cause the GT5 demo that

were playable for a while had the best physics a GT game ever had. And the

real GT5 will probably not be any worse! :)

Don't worry about pleasing everyone, although adding a bit of explanation to avoid misunderstood responses is also something I've adopted for a while although right now I can't be bothered anymore.
You either read something properly ( given that it's properly written ) before responding, or ask to clarify if unclear, if not and people make up their own assumptions or interpretation of what you wrote then, well, meh.

*Disclaimer, the above hasn't got anything to do with having a different opinion.*;)

I bought my HDTV from them, a white eco friendly 46" BRAVIA, very good price and no complain, at least in my case.

This is off topic, but is there any wheels that have paddle shifters? I'd rather that than the gear lever. Or if someone could link to the thread discussing wheels, that'd be great as well.
