I'm happy it's a fake. I mean, GT5 will DEFINATELY have more than "20 locations", from the recent interviews and stuff. Also, honestly, I think the rear cover will look a LOT better, but that may just be my opinion.

What, seriously is it a fake or not? :nervous:

Next weekends F1 finale would be prime time for a gt5 tv ad campaign to start.

I remember the first (and only) time I saw an advert for GT4 on the idiot-box was during a Grand Prix, or some other motorsport - it was the one where a car stopped on Trial Mountain to look at the view (where Nessie now is), with an appropriate comment about how beautiful it supposedly was.

It could happen again (although not for F1, as has already been mentioned); it seems that Sony / PD are targeting car enthusiasts, what with the features in respected auto magazines recently, so it would make sense as an extension to that behaviour.

But that would be coincidental mostly I reckon, if Alonso had won today the opportunity would be far less significant, now we have an enormous cliffhanger to look out for regarding who becomes the world champion.
GT5 doesn't really need a large event to attract attention, if anything what happened here in the last few hours proves it's a large event in itself.
And the promotion doesn't stop once it's released, especially with the holiday season looming ahead, although I agree it's the last worldwide viewed motorsport event of this season and with the current scenario it will attract enormous ratings, something Sony couldn't have planned unless they struck a deal with Bernie.;)

Maybe the RedBullRacing cars will have a new special livery.....

I think that might be a better place to get some Black Friday sales for F1 2010. Does the BBC even have commercials during their coverage though? That's where I watch and I can't remember if they do or they don't. Though I'd love to see some new GT ads, anywhere on TV.

You'r right they don't have ad breaks during the race, (although they make up for it at the end) F1 2010's tv ad is already on but its only on for like 30 seconds, And I'm not sure if a black ops ad would be allowed on uk tv during that time of day

Why does it slide sideways whe he isn't turning the front wheels?? :indiff:

Eh, probably an old build glitch.

I'm at the point where I can't wait for the game to get here, we're right on the cusp of a new release, and I remember messing around with cars like that all the time. I WANT TO PLAY!

Also, I'm moving the Maple Ridge from Coquitlam in about a month. High five!

it looks like no real (solid) release date from sony / PD got every body on the edge , maybe a little clarification from a reliable source. could clear things up for us so I could get a good nights sleep. something isn't right about all of this there is a lil truth mixed with some lies. it's hard too much to handle the anticipation for this game is killing me!

It's called "torque steering" The engine produces so much torque it causes the body to twist and warp and as it does so, turns the car itself.

EDIT: that looks like a glitch because the car's on an incline. But that demo is an early build. Don't worry too much.

That's not what torque steering is, and the video showed the Enzo sliding sideways like it was parked on an icy hill.

oh lord.. i dont even want to think about how long that will take to install..
MGS4 was like 3ish GB and it took more than 15 minutes.. :ill:

The installation screen will show Kazunori Yamauchi smoke 31 cigarettes in a row in an MGS4-style animation.

Those 20 odd minutes we spend waiting for GT to install will remind us that it has all been worthwhile. We finally have GT5 installing on our beloved consoles.

Personally, I'm going to use that time I spend waiting to gloss over the manual, browse the APEX book and perhaps contemplate my starter car.

Also, regarding my earlier post about long point to point driving: I am glad to see others would have an interest in such a concept. Where did I get the idea? I had a dream about driving in said mode last night. However, the road surface vanished just like in the bugged Paris demo. That was the kick that woke me up from my GT slumber.

It just appears to slide straight sideways, it just doesn't look right.
Because that's what happens when you have tons of power in a RWD car.
Above. ^
Chill out, its the Best Buy demo.
I know that, but aren't the physics in that what will be in the final game?
Actually, wait, no nevermind
Probably due to the camber of the track.
(It's not torque steer)
But the front wheels should have stayed in place, not slide down the hill.

Since when does the front tyres lose all lateral grip while doing a line lock. It's a physics glitch/error in a demo build.

Why were you driving with n1's on the rear and r3's on the front?!

edit

oh i see the point of the video was to do burnouts xD

Some cars, with a ton of torque, do drift sideways. It's called "walking" or a "teardrop drift" if I'm not mistaken. (which I have been a lot recently) But who knows. It is an old build, the track is cambered weird and the Enzo does have a lot of power.

I don't know, but i sure hope that doesn't happen in the final version...

It's not torque steer. It's happened in many previous GTs and it's part of the physics. OH NOES!!! NOT THE PERFECT PHYSICS IT HAS TO BE TORQUE STEER!! No matter the power of the car it should follow the direction of the tires, in the cases of GT. With N1s in the rear it should not have enough grip to be able to budge the R3s, and if it were, should not completely change the direction of the car. It's not just the Best Buy demo, that's what your GT5 is going to look like.

Yup, watch at the beginning as I try to brake just to stop the car. Quite the struggle but yea it's just to get the rear tires to spin and for the front to stick..
