In Sweden it's very affordable if you just have an ordinary job though. The $US is cheap as hell compared to the swedish krona. A Corvette is nothing special here really.

Well, Corvettes aren't really special here either, but you don't see them like civics either. Either way, most of the world is not fortunate enough to live in Sweden, and I would say most of the world's middle class can only dream of owning a Vette.

The USD is weak compared to the krona? Isn't the ratio something like 1:7? I'm not following unless american cars there are dirt cheap or you guys have a $40 minimum wage.

I am sick of buying games to try and fill up the gap between now and turismo. F1 2010 is crap. Just the single f1 car in gt 4 was better better then f1'z entire game lol

would you rather people just spread false information? It also does seem like a big deal because it has been talked about (incorrectly) for pages.

notice please, that I responded to his post, and then said...

"As for it being torque steer...."

I had moved on from his post and was directing the next part to the forum as a whole. It was not in reference to his post, or directed at him in anyway...

Of course the fact that regarding this situation, you don't have a clue as to what you're talking about as that comment was not directed at him, might be part of the problem.

There was nothing nasty about my comment, it was just a simple comment based in the reality that if you watch that video, and know what torque steer is, and how a car reacts to torque steer, you would know with 100% certainty that it is NOT torque steer...

1. I really hope this is not directed at my post. If it is I would LOVE to read your explanation as to how what I said was completely BS

2. What makes this post any less "nasty" then my comment?

You've completely misinterpreted all of my posts :dunce:

This. I hear this all the time from people outside the US about how Corvettes are cheap w/e. I never really thought to pursue it any further because I thought people who said it were just B.S'ing themselves. The Corvette isn't special in the states either however it is not as common as most cars on the road.

Yes, it's weak to the krona, and the euro as well for that matter. Normally one USD would be worth around 8 SEK, but now one USD is only worth 6.5 SEK.

Let's get back to topic now though.

i live in the US and the corvette is my favorite car and im 16, but it seems to be more popular with the older folks, most teens i know seem to be into tuners and supercars that they think they now alot about but really dont

The reason is most teens can only afford tuners. When you are in your 20s and starting a family a corvette isn't practical unless you have another vehicle, in this country the cost over a year for a corvette and another vehicles is a lot. Mostly retired older folks drive corvettes. I was thinking about getting one, I'm 23 by the way but it won't be able to replace my car now which has a back seat because I have a son.. Then I seen the new CTS-V and said....OMG....corvette who?

Corvettes are unaffordable in the Netherlands ebcause of some stupid environment tax..
Normal C6 costs €109,000 ($152,000)
C6 Z06 costs €147,000 ($205,000)
C6 ZR1 costs €203,000 ($283,000)

Just FYI:
Cadillac CTS-V = €140,000 ($195,000)

Jesus that's crazy expensive... over double what one would cost here.. In fact more then double.

Wow, are those US dollar figures. Your paying twice as much for a Corvette. Any ways, the Vette is the best super car for your buck, it can ride and beat cars 2-3 times as much as it is, it has history, and style behind it.

I wouldn't mind seeing some more Caddies in GT5. The only one so far has been the Cien Concept. I would love to see a '57 El Dorado and El Dorado Wagon. A CTS-V would also be cool. And didn't Cadillac seen a pair of Fleetwoods up Pike's Peak?

I live in the US and the Corvette is one of my least favorite cars.

Least favorite. Really? What type of car do you like then just out of curiosity. It's not my favorite either but its no wear near the bottom. We all can't be a Buick grand national I suppose:)

Yep, those are US Dollar figures..
Of course you shouldn't forget road tax.. Which is €800 a year approx $1100..
And fuel.. @ $8.50 a gallon...
And regular maintenance..

Current Porsche 911(997) Turbo costs €197,000 ($275,000)

Man oh man an old school El Dorado would be so sick. I'm pretty sure they had the Buick Grand national in gtpsp, so I assume its in GT5, However they should really make that car a premium.

Ya, Caddys in GT have been dissappointing. We need the CTS-V, CTS-V coupe, STS-V and the XLR-V.

The problem is often that some people take the words of people like Jeremy Clarkson as gospel, and when he says the car is "made of plastic" or "cheap" and they take it to heart.

as for the prices, direct from Chevrolet's website (MSRP in USD)

Coupe - $48,950
Vert - $53,600
Grand Sport - $54,790
Grand Sport Vert - $58,600
Z06 - $74,305
ZR1 - $111,100

I'm not sure that any of those cars qualify as CHEAP lol.

Cheap for the performance you get out of it? Yes, that I would agree with though...

What about pick up trucks also. Like a Ford SVT lightning or the most crazy of them all, a GMC syclone. GMC's turbo truck from 1991. That truck would be so much fun to drive in Nurburging.
