MY favorite American car is still the Challenger. Mopars rock, man. You've got to respect the Hemi engine. It is what made the Charger the first NASCAR to hit 200mph.

I want to see the SRT10 Ram in GT5. I seemed to be missing from GT4. I mean, we had the SVT Lightning, Chevy's super truck, Toyota's but for Dodge, we got the Hemi Ram? Really? They've got to give us the SRT10 this time.

Yeah, so we won't end up doing this.

Edit: Someone fix this please. I think I've been out in GTP for too long.

Almost there... gotcha, i sure hope for a press release this week about GT5.

lol! Good one.

Hi everyone at GTP! Long time reader and GT fan posting here for the first time! What drove me over the edge to sign up and post was this: I'm thinking seriously about getting the PS Eye accessory, but I'm not 100% sure how it will work with GT5. I'm pretty sure after searching around the net that if you are playing in 3D, Sony's 3D glasses have LEDs on them to trakc your head movement BUT I'm not going to be in the market for a 3D TV for a long time, so I was wondering if they sell non-3D glasses (much cheaper of course) that have the LEDs on them - OR use glasses from a PC trackIR set OR if you could just do it custom and any old LEDs on your face would work... I need some advice on this and I can't post a new thread so I though I'd just ask the question here where all the eyes seem to be right now, if that's OK. I hope so!
Thanks in advance for the help!

Umm ok. You keep expecting and I'm gonna go to bed. :)

While I, too, am hopeful for some kind of announcement this week, I find it beneath myself to expect anything from Sony at this point. They've shown, IMO, blatant disregard for fans of this series up to this point. Forwards on, I'll only expect to play the game after I've picked it up in the store.

fixed for ya.

And, yes, the Ram glitch needs fixed, too. That truck was plenty fast and it always pitted you against crappy cars when in Arcade Mode or Track Meet.

Where did you guys get those footage, i dont ever remember having seen the Dodge Ram in GT4 ??!! ??

But that vid is pure joy !! ahah :)

I think everyone needs cheering up..

And WOW ! i never really like this song ... but after seeing this video, i have a new appreciation for it! 👍

Was there any more news or info from the NASCAR race?

Not so much during the race itself (assuming you mean the Nationwide race), but there was an interesting statement by Joey in the press release where he says he quote "can't wait to play it later on this month" and intrigingly, that statement had to be rewritten (suggesting that he might have accidently hinted at the release date). Sounds silly to take word from of all people a racecar driver who drives the car with the game on the hood but seeing as he is one of the people helping in the NASCAR portion of GT5 and his interesting statement of playing the early builds of the game, it might hold some importance.

Hmmm, interesting, well i would imagine he of all people might know something. He did say he was a big GT fan so hes probably been informed of where the game is at in terms of getting to our shelves.

"I'm pretty pumped about having Gran Turismo 5 on the car this weekend," Logano said. "I think GT5 is one of the best video games of all time. I've been fortunate enough to play some of the early builds of the game and even got to play against the creator of the series back in August. For GT5 to include NASCAR in the game this year is really sick. To think you can go on there and race the No. 20 car is wild. I've played racing games all my life, and it's crazy to see your own cars in the game. I can't wait for it to come out later this month."

Thats the one. Now if I could only get the link to that exact press release.

It's been almost a month since this game was delayed and without a word from Sony. Very pathetic but we need to keep our heads up.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm jealous of COD fans. From announcement of the game's existence to them having it in their hands will be around a year. If history repeats itself, it will almost certainly be a top notch game(lol wat? in under 6 years? how? :/)

No clowning around with the release, no mystery or suspense surrounding every aspect of the game getting in gamers hands. Activision isn't sitting around pretending Black Ops doesn't exist, they promoted it and released it, like competent business people do. I only wish us GT people were so lucky. :indiff:

There's been a lot of discussion about whether GT5 needs advertising or not. Well, it DOES! Here's my experience tonight playing Superstars V8 Racing, which has its defects in the physics department, but is NOT an arcade game.

A few days ago I had a side-to-side battle through four corners with a guy. Super clean, fun racing. When the race ended I got a request to add a friend. Since he is reasonably fast in what I consider a "pseudo-sim" i.e. you have to brake into the corners and be careful with the throttle on the way out, I figured he was a seasoned racing game fan. I've raced with him a lot since then and he is a clean racer, complaining about the Need for Speed guys always punting us off the track. Well, tonight I asked him if he pre-ordered GT5 or not, and his response was "What's that"??????

I couldn't believe it! How can you jump into a game like SSV8 and be a fast, clean racer and not know what Gran Turismo is?!?!?!?!?

I've been playing GT since literally day one, when I played GT1 at the Sony building in Ginza while visiting Japan, months before it was released in the West, and ran out and bought it before my friends in the States had ever even heard of it. I know most people that follow this blog are also long time GT fans. But my experience tonight goes to show that there still must be lots of people who don't know about the GT franchise. Obviously I told my buddy to pre-order immediately and to be prepared for a sublime experience.

Moral of the story: here's hoping that a possible "surprise" release of GT5 in the next four weeks doesn't catch Sony with their pants down in the advertising department. I think there are a lot of potential fans that need to be spoon-fed their information. Here's to hoping to get as many people on board the GT5 wagon as possible and many years of fun online racing!

I know some COD players won't be too happy. A GameStop was robbed Saturday night and 2 people got away with over 100 copies of Black Ops.

Comparing Black Ops and GT5 is like saying

PD and the crew are creating this BRAND NEW game, it looks and feels exactly like GT4 but we changed a few things in the menus, and added a few customizable options, AND IT'LL BE HERE IN 2005!! IT'S GOING TO BE TOP NOTCH!!

Or let's compare it to Forza

T10 push out FM2, it's great, it has all this stuff. Let's rework the menus, make the livery editor better, the online worse, some new cars with a little more poly count, two years later, BAM!! TOP NOTCH GAME!!
