Comparing Black Ops and GT5 is like saying

blah blah I'm just another apologist blah blah

I think you failed to understand my post. I wasn't comparing GT5 and COD as games, just how the production and distribution handled the development and the ultimate release of the game.

cliffnotes: drama vs no drama

Cod is a cancer on the gaming business but I'm still going to the midnight launch as I'll be awake anyway. If GT5 hadn't have been delayed I wouldn't even consider buying BO.

I wouldn't say all COD fans are happy. Some say it's just Modern Warfare 2 with a new skin and that's pretty much what it is. People still eat it up though because it's a COD title. And for the younger teens, it's considered to be uncool if you don't play COD. :ouch:

This is why I hate COD. Not that I'm uncool, but because it's the 'cool game' to play among all systems. The entry level FPS which everyone likes for some unknown reason

I think simply PD wont give us a release date until all the copies of the game are in thier countries ready to be sent to our front door or put up on the shelf, if they came out now and said "Gran Turismo 5, releasing Nov. 30" or whatever, and they hit another delay for some reason, (remember that theres alot to organize pre-launch) there would be hell to pay in thier sales.

If the games are shipped, why should there be problems? Get them to the store, release them. The only problem would be if the game hasn't really been shipped yet at all.

If the game isn't due out for a few weeks then Sony probably won't ship any units until closer to the release. This is due to the fact that many stores in Europe and some mom and pop stores in the US won't follow the release date and will sell the game early. Many people have been picking up Black Ops over the past week because stores have sold them once they got their copies.

I dont think the game has been shipped to all countries yet, I know New Zealand hasn't got it yet or i would be able to go and look at the big box with all the collectors editions, signature editions and standard editions for our area.

Only a hop skip and a jump away is Australia right? Seems like they have been printing theirs

Yea, Aussie usually print NZs games, I have been checking the shipping schedule for one of our local ports and we got a container ship in from Sydney on the 7th, i would say NZs copies of GT5 would be on that boat, so the local distributors will probably be receiving them shortly. (and by local distributors i mean houses where the couriers pick them up from lol)

Do you know if that shipment is specifically from Sony?

im pretty sure MightyApe would tweet if they get their stock in, they always do for major games.

Its impossible to tell really, we dont even know if they will go to Tauranga or Auckland but i know for a fact that Mightyape dont have theirs yet. It wont be long though, NZ will probably receive two shipments of the game, one for pre-orders to be sent out a day before release and another for store games but both these shipments will be so small that we will probably be the first country to have our games ready to go.

edit: There was also a NYK line container arrived in Aucks on the 7th from Brisbane.

I'm amazed anyone believed him. He didn't even have proof! As for the pics of someone playing gt5 on the xmb, it's possible that they simply cropped out the 'prologue' part. I'm not convinced of anything I've seen so far and I think everyone should be careful about getting their hopes up, especially surrounding this game.

Btw, any news after that troll incident up till now? I just got back home from work and I don't feel like reading those last 100+ pages.

You should just edit your post instead of double posting.
Just trying to help.

To answer your question, no new info.

Do you mean the 7th as in Yesterday or 7th December?

I tried to play COD for fun once online and I got so much abuse so I simple told them all to go 🤬 themselves and snapped my COD disk in half. I hate it that people expect you to have COD, I just glad that my friends no longer play COD.

About GT5 disc, I would play it, as it is obvious, even if the graphics were just a plain white with a gt logo on, but if this is the actual disc it's very disappointing.

I only had COD:MW2 for about a week and played it twice online before getting rid of it. It's not as great and awesome as everybody says it is.

When do you think outlets like Mightyape and co will start receiving their stock? Next few days or so?

If the game is good, who the 🤬 cares about the disc?

ah ok sweet, if you can let us know/confirm specially for us Kiwis here when the first shipments of GT5 have landed.
I also have a feeling the game will be out in a couple weeks, prob on 25/26 November or 2/3 December since we usually get releases on Thursdays and Fridays.
