I really wish some other manufacturer was able to put a game together like Gran Turismo..
But you know what, there isn't one that comes even close..
So we're ****ed, dependable on Sony as a monopolist, doing whatever they want to do, knowing it just doesn't affect their sales because everyone still will be buying it.
I hate it.

BTW , yet another graph concerning the TT :

This is very bad news. I know about many people who are buying Xbox + Forza 3 just because GT isn't here. Sony let them rise Microsoft's market share with such weird decisions. Just release the game now and we will happily wait for missing features and content till GT6! Or let us taste GT5 in real demo or Prologue update with at least two tracks.

Hey look. More new members complaining.

You know, there are other games you can play.

You say so..
but I don't like playing other games.
It just doesn't interest me.
My PS3 is useless for me without Gran Turismo.
I tried NFS shift, and god, It doesn't come even close to gran turismo..
After two weeks, I was tired of it.
I just love cars, and i love gran turismo, and it's the only thing i want..
and the only thing i want to make time for.
Sony's marketing department is just so amateurish.
They were like hyping the game almost a year before it comes out (of course if the Spanish guy is about right)
It's just torturing.

PD are afraid to give us a release date cause they know they may have to delay it again..
I might turn out right when I said the game would come in 5 to 8 months. That is unless Sony considers that they won't have any good titles released in 2011 and decide to leave GT5 for that fiscal year.

There is one thing certain here. This is not the right way to do business. No matter how famous and sought your product is...

It's all really quite simple...

Gran Turismo 5 is THE big hitter that will turn the head of anyone even thinking about buying a XBox 360 + Natal + Halo Reach.

It's even simpler-many people already put their GT5 money into bying a xbox360 and forza.

I'd be skeptical of a Christmas release date. When Kaz said only 2 months ago (or so) that they would be releasing in Japan at end of March and in europe/NA not long after. I don't see why they'd add an extra 8/9 months to the release. I think there's a fairly obvious big event this year that GT5 is most likely to coincide with.

I'm definately on the same wave length.

Isn't GT5 the kind of game that if released in Summer, will sell millions to the dedicated/educated fans. It will then follow with fantastic sales at christmas due to everyone getting a taste of the game via friends, reviews and publicity. The general public won't ever see the head tracking or 3D tech, unless it's at an early adopters, like us, house.

Everyone i know who likes GT, saw the game on someone elses console, they begged to get the same game and console the following christmas.

Kazunori interviews
We can release it anytime...
and Kazunori said GT5 shortly after GTPSP
GameBlog interview 4 months ago
GB: Gran Turismo 5 will not be released in Japan before March 2010. What about Europe?
KY: Trust me, it should be very close from this date because our schedules didn't changed. What I can assure you is both versions will be finished at the same time.

I dont Trust You Kazunori. you can play it yourself.
you lost my reputation. You must save your word. it seems you are lying to Fans..

yeah, GT is big WOW factor on my friends list :)

My opinion:

1. I think we will see GT5 earlier than we think. Fall 2010 is just to late to be considered solid release date.
2. Kaz said that they only polishing game. So i don't think they will polish game for almost 11 months. 11 months is loooong time in therm of developing. Just look at Fifa or PES, L4D.
3. Polishing game for this long is lose of money. Cost of development is now 60 mln. Another 8-9 months will change it to >70 mln. So they are working hard on new aspects of the game or they BS about fall release. Polishing game is not an option in this case.
4. If they realy think to release this game "this fall" then we can expect hell of a racing game...
5. Hey you skidmarks, reverse lights, 2 D trees whiners. THANK YOU ###$$$%%% ;)

I know this is not official release time but its gonna not good for PD. If PD didnt make large scale GT game. we could have played at this time..Why GT5 last hope for SONY? There is GT6 on the corner. Why didnt they add Nascar Indy car etc GT6? Perfectionism is not this type. This is fighting for yourself. You will have beaten by your ambition Kazunori.
I wanna see your perfection in GT6.
What was boxart of GT5? or using this boxart to sell PS3 to consumers? to deceive to people not good. its gonna affect relationship between Sony and its consumers.

16 players online, running at 60 fps is a big ask. Maybe they are struggling to get the code to work. It seems to me to be a technical issue rather than a marketing one. If it is a marketing one it has to be the worst marketing blunder since Ratners.

As for the current release of "Christmas 2010", I'm not surprised. Looking back, nearly every single GT game (1-2, 4, Concept (Jan. 1st, but close enough), GT4P, GTHD, & GT5P) has been released in December. Only GT PSP & GT3 were released in other months.

Considering this "trend", it shouldn't be really hard to swallow. For 10 years, it seems Polyphony has sought to have December games to help the Playstation sales.

You reminded me of something :D

WHY WOULD THEY SHOW OFFICIAL COVER IF GAME IS PLANED FOR FALL :D :D :D :D

Come one people time for joy GT5 is around corner :D 👍

GT anytime will help selling PS3. My point is that GT is biggest system seller in Playstation Brand. And marketing of GT brand gone veeeery high since release of GT4. Every car show, almost every racing league is "tainted" by GT logos, tv spots, colaborations and whole other galaxy of sponsoring etc .

I mean if they release GT in every point of this year it probably sell 3-4 milion in 1st day around the world and probably 20 mln + in it's lifetime.

About GT6

I think they will do better if they will release GT6 on playstation 4. They will prepare and release game as launch or 1 year life of console title then it will not be a problem to sell 100mln of PS4 in 6 years :)

So clever words!!

Yea! IF GT5 is the last hope the PS3 are very very bad, and the other games/developers?? and the gamers who not like racing games? why put all the coins in ONE game??? is a Playstation for Gods sake!!!

Another member says, yes theres anothers games for the console, but, i dont want another ****** game, I WANT GT5!!!!!

This is no good.

Sorry my english.

Thumbs up for Hideo Kojima

One of the main reasons I bought my launch PS3 was because of the Gran Turismo franchise. However, it wasn't only for that, but I know some people on here pretty much bought their PS3 for GT5. That must make the wait even more frustrating, but in such a case you have to ask yourself, why did you buy a PS3 in the first place when the only game you wanted was not out? OK, you had no idea of how long it would be, but still...

You are right, but make that question to you, and i bet you response is the same as me.

Sorry me english.

Read my post again - the question is not relevant to me because there are other games I wanted that are only available on PS3. I'm as frustrated as anybody about the wait, but my PS3 is not just sat there gather dust while I twiddle my thumbs and sulk.

If it wasn't for SONY Japan forcing Kazunori to work on GT PSP and getting it out by last fall, we would have been playing GT5 by now. I do expect some really dumb decisions by the board of SCEJ in order to see as many PS3 sales as possible. For some reason, they see setting games off till the fall months as a good thing, but then, most big games do release in the fall.

I know that some of you aren't really gamers, and just want to play the best racing game. Well, you're missing out. Since SEGA got out of the console market, the best games are on the Playstation. Look at me. I bought the 360 just to play Forza, and I got so disgusted with the bugs in it that it's in a bag, disassembled since I took it to show the family over Christmas, but no one really wanted to see it. And I hadn't touched it since November. ;)

SONY could release GT5 in the late spring or summer. After all, Metal Gear Solid 4 released in June I believe, and sold quite well, and it did sell a number of PS3s. But it depends on how those knot-heads on the board at SONY see things. I guess we'll know more at E3 if nothing else.

I think, it's all in sony's hands. With so much killer games this year, they will wait and see how much income they will get without releasing GT5. If it's enough for a descent financial result, we might not see GT5 this year.

I don't see happening;
1. if this is their strategy it means that the game will not be released until christmas; it doesn't make much sense to delay a game six months so they can sell it August instead of April!?
2. the game is almost complete, should it then collect dust for 9 months before being released, just so they can get a better christmas sale; 9 months by which Sony will have lost sales and Microsoft will have been eating additional bites of the console market!?

Well, after reading the previous posts, I can only agree with you guys, if sony wasn't so greedy to put a GT in a portable **** of console we would have GT5 now.

There's a downside which is the waiting but there's a positive side of the news too, PD now has the time to model the full track count from GT4 and previous GTs ( Red Rock Valley, Grindelwald, SSR11, Complex String, Rome Night ) and to model more classic cars ( 60's and 70's muscles, please ), also, they can perfect every single and stupid detail, exactly as they love to do.

I know, this is a sony decision, the game is almost finished, but we have plenty of time to improve it even more, c'mon PD, back to work.

When Kaz said "Expect Perfection" I guess he was just trying to say "Expect". :grumpy:

I think GT5 was complete for the 2009 christmas release. And yes they could wait another 9 months to get a better score... It would not be the first time in games history. Don't forget its not about games, but $$$.

It's getting a bit stale now really.. i was kidding when i said we could expect a new trailer at E3 2010 a while ago, and now it could actually happen?

Damm it.. fall is september till december, i bet they are going for a november/december release then to really sell some PS3 units.. that's almost a year from now.. how sad.

If the game is such a killer it will sell PS3's anytime of the year.

It's still only as good as the last release date, so there could be further delays. I suggest believe nothing until it's in the shops.
