i'm rather surprised that there is still that much talk going on about a release date...

Back in time, the exact same discussion was made about GT2...

And then, a few years later, the same discussion was going on about GT3...

AFter that, there was, as i recall, i huge discussion about GT4's release date...

and somehow, there's still the same exact bloody discussion about GT5's release date!

Amazing.

Hey screw you buddy. No need to get personal. I've said it before, and I will say it again. I don't complain (like everyone else) because I know I will enjoy the game for what it is. I can wait for it knowing that it's going to be the best console racer ever, and I plan on spending A LOT of time playing it.

I really wish people would quit with the the "fanboy" remarks, because they are seriously getting old.

Nextgen consoles especially ps3 and 360 killed all best series. FF RE SH DMC MGS in my opinion died in this generation!

Wow, you've been that upset with all these games so far? Granted, I only have great experience with MGS (never liked FF), but I thought MGS4 was the best in the series.

i will say Gran Fiasco 5 after waiting 6 years..I dont believe release dates and i dont believe anybody who working for Sony.

Looks like GT5 is only one in a long list of games that are long overdue. My advice for you, don't trust anyone in the gaming industry. You may want to sell your consoles, since they are all untrustworthy liars that just kill the best series.

People just need to see that there is a really good reason the game has taken so long to be released, and I'm sure everyone will understand when it's sitting in their PS3 and they are drooling over it. 👍

What's the problem? You keep talking about the problem, but you don't tell me what the problem is. Of course I can't see it, because you don't bother to point it out to me. Not knowing when to release the game? That's the problem? As I said, you can have a release date. They can change it if they want to, it's not like having a release date will make any difference whatsoever, speaking about GT5's actual release date of course.

The only problem I see is not Sony's. It's people's.

I don't think that there is much to discuss if we are coming at this from totally different perspectives..

My perspective is that there's no problem with having no release date, because even if there was one, they can change it anytime they want. What's your perspective?

Although I would love to understand why you think not giving release dates is good for Sony? other then them reacting to a very late and overdue, never ending GT5 development saga?

I never said it was good for Sony, if I recall correctly. What I said is that it is not a bad thing. Everyone who wants the game will buy it, even if it comes out in 2030.



Bottom line is that people don't care if Sony makes money or not, if Sony has difficulties or not making the game. They just want their game, as fast as possible. And that's the only problem I am able to see.

There was some news last week or the week before in an interveiw with Kaz. He said that he does not like to release a game and then find out that another Race Sim has certain features that he has negleted to include in the GT Series. This is the reason that he gave in that interveiw as to why GT5 is being delayed for so long now.

If Kaz is to please us all and give all the special features that we want and to make this GT Series one of the best, then we must all expect delays. Considering the Marketing Strategey and the high competetive nature between Microsoft and Sony nothing that is said by us up until this point or past this point will make much of a difference.

As far as the Advertising and Marketing development goes....all of that has been taken care of I would think. It would just be a matter of giving the relevant departments the go ahead to start releasing the merchandise before the launch of GT5.

I too am getting a little upset as to why it needs to be so long of a wait, and yes there should be more information given as to what is holding up proceedings. I would like to know now what is making it hard for them rather than hearing about it in the next PS magazine six months after the release. But hey.....it's not going to happen so I wait, play GT5P for half an hour and get bored as I usually do. GT5P has been out for so long it's like we all have tunnel vision because all we see now is GT5.

SH was sinking ship from sh3 which was last good game from SH series. RE 5 is a good game just not soo good like RE4. DMC ... huh new consoles killed it ? I think platinum just showed that DMC formula is all about Dante and not some whiny guy. Not giving Dante as main character killed it.

MGS4 Is one of the best games out there on any console in history. Sure It isn't fresh as MGS1 and don't have some awasome story with most beautiful ending of all games like MGS3 but still have it's own valors like MGO included which rocks (still playin) also it don't age. I still can complete game and still i catch something new in plot or some easter eggs by kojima.

And SINCE WHEN GT is FIASCO ? ANY GT ON ANY PLATFORM was big succes to us "fans" and for Sony.

What surprises me, is that Sony have let their golden boy KY lose his face so utterly and completely, it must be devastating for the guy.

For months now, KY basically hinted at the fact that the game was complete and could be released. Then we hear already rumours of a Christmas-launch and then it's March. KY gives presentations saying "planned for March" and ... March it won't be. And, of course now everyone blames KY for "lying" to everyone, when he is, for all intenses and purposes, Sony's slave and has no say whatsoever in setting the actual release date.

Especially for a Japanese person, the world's loss of trust in his words by no fault of his own, must be like a slap in the face by Sony's Execs.

MGS4 was downgraded all aspect. To think about that i am not alone. I m MGSfan since 1998 and GT fan too, so i can clearly say its not MGS type..Look at Final fantasy 13 did it blow?
How about Resident Evil 5? Is re hollywood action game?
Silent Hill series was good till Nextgen Game..Coz of that Team silent didnt make last Silent Hill game.

Oh i forgot to say Tekken..Tekken known as best fighting game in the last generation.Now i dont want to play Tekken now!.They spent 4 years to develop it.
This generation suitable for FPS games really. i dont remember unforgettable any game in this generation. It could be early say this truth but feel sad ford me untill now.,

I'd be skeptical of a Christmas release date. When Kaz said only 2 months ago (or so) that they would be releasing in Japan at end of March and in europe/NA not long after. I don't see why they'd add an extra 8/9 months to the release. I think there's a fairly obvious big event this year that GT5 is most likely to coincide with.

Also i'm laughing at people argueing about who's opinion is right above. MGS2 is the highest rated MGS game according to Metacritic (Which i think is pointless and usually not a good indication of a game). You say MGS1 and MGS3 are the best, but i think MGS4 is by far the best in the series so far. Its so much more versatile for a start, i can move while aiming, which always made the previous games difficult to play at times. I thought the story was pretty damn good too.

PS3 has not killed off names, some games have become more mainstream, like How Resident Evil has become a shoot-em-up instead of a survival horror, but that started last gen with RE4. Devil May Cry was ruined by the second incarnation in my opinion, the first was brilliant. But thats all opinion based and not worth discussing on a GT5 forum where we do not have a game infront of us, all we can do is speculate and/or base our argument on facts.

I know I'm just speculating here and its only an idea but should we look foward to E3? The way I see it is that E3 is the biggest gaming event leading up to autumn and its a good way to launch itself into the American market. As for Europe, perhaps Gamescom? If Sony are so "confident" of a 2010 release they must annonce it during these events otherwise wherelse? I just think its going to be embarising seeing Gran Turismo at TGS a whole year after the Japanese release date was anounced.

Obviously nothing that happens at this point will make you happy with any video games, much less GT5. So, why are you so worked up about GT5 when at this point you seem determined that this entire console generation has had nothing unforgettable (even though I can name a few)? You might as well just quit gaming now and save yourself the pain.

Trust me when I tell you that this generation is not lacking.

What we don't know is if we are being denied the game for production reasons or commercial reasons. If it's the former then that's OK because it means the games not being rushed out, faults and all. If it's the latter then that's pretty poor play by Sony to hold back till Christamas 2010 just to sell more units and unfortunately I think it's the latter

I think its better to be delayed for commercial reasons than for production reasons. Many people would think GT5 is a broken game if its pushed back because of production reasons, but its more disappointing for us fans if its really only the marketing, cause right now we would take anything.

Yep... Tekken's delays actually made me forget about it. I stopped caring and haven't played either of the last two releases.

When Sony say production issues, they mean what they are trying to do is avoid sales and distribution issues.

The PS3 itself was delayed too if you remember.

The Xbox 360, Wii, Wii Fit all released early and sold out within days, and it took months for stock to return. If the game is set for an Autumn release, they don't want the game to be out of stock before the Christmas rush.

Though I personally think they're just preparing for a simultaneous worldwide release. Sony know their games arn't region locked, they don't want a couple of million of their games being exported from Japan. Sony don't like exports of their goods, remember the lawsuit about the company(s) exporting PSPs from Japan.

The new one is actually quite good. The dark Resurrection thing was rushed and well lacking in content but cheap. Kinda like the GT Prologue of beat em ups

Japanese dont like unofficial export of their goods, biggest one recently was the Nissan GTR which is almost half the price export of Japan than buying one from a local Dealer.
Nissan tried all sorts of tricks to stop them being exported.
So it could be a concern of theirs.
But then i'm sure they have the ability to start region coding again if they really wanted to.

There just lies a question. If this news is true, then why would this guy whom we have no idea about be the one to inform us? If it was so sure to be released in fall, then it would've been KY or PD or SCE mentioning it... some really high-authority, valuable source who is involved in the making of the game. Its just a wild (maybe not wild) guess from a Portuguese dude who can hardly spell Gran Turismo 5 without a "D", if u know what I'm saying.

All regional SONY heads know when games will be released. He is the top guy in portugal and likely a few other divisions, that's pretty high. Plus. he's been right before so why doubt him?

Because something must've happened between the time they said march 2010 and a week or so later. They knew what games were coming out during the year. For them delay it now because of those games makes no sense. Only reason has to be something related to the game itself.

Yes, it is. What does hideo Kojima have to do with GT5?

but I can tell you that if all their blockbusters are released in the first and second quarter then those two quarters will show a huge profit growth, thus a stock increase. But the third quarter wouldn't have anything big and so would actually show a decrease in profits. Thus people would sell stocks and the business media would discuss their sudden drop. But if they, or any company, can spread sales out over all quarters then they appear to be maintaining steady growth without any drops, which makes them look like a sound investment.

As I said, it makes no sense to have this delay because of the other blockbuster games. They knew about the other blockbusters long before THEY gave us the march 2010 release date for japan. For them to go back on it a week or so later should worry a lot of us. Something unexpected must've happened or maybe they saw their financial reports, don't know when SONY usually does them, and they saw very worrying numbers. Then yes, maybe I'll buy it. They obviously had no problems telling us MARCH a few weeks ago fully knowing final fantasy whatnot and fod of war were coming out at the same time.
