How BS is that, the half world is playing GT5... Got to stay away from here for 5 more days, dissapointing...

Have some people from Germany already has the game? If yes, where can we buy an early copy?
 
*Torontonians alert*

This is for those who have ordered your GT5 collector's edition from EBGames/Gamestop. If you don't know already, some thieves ran off with two trailers of Sony products including Playstation PS3 & PSP games, consoles and other stuff that's worth $1 million in total this past Monday & Tuesday in Brampton.

So I went to check into my EB to pay off the rest of my collector's edition pre-order and I asked about midnight launch. The guy gave me a smirk and was shaking his head. Then the conversation begins:

Me: So is the game ready to be out on 24th? Can you check if the game is here or not?
GS: Yep, if you pre-order you got 48hours to pick up.
Me: For the collector's edition? :dunce:
GS: Oh...hold on...is that what you've got? Lemme check...(Clicks on computer on company website)
Me: 'cause you know, some thieves jacked two trailers of PS stuff earlier this week. I just hope my game's not in those two trailers..:scared:
GS: Where'd you hear that? (Gave me a concerned look and finds the company website where it does not give a date.) Nope...it should be in next week. (Alarms went off immediately)
Me: And the standard edition?
GS: Standard edition is already here. Collector's should be next week. We'll give you a call when the game arrives.
Me: ...

Oh boy.....I'm so confused right now. Obviously, the GS employee just read off the website which says "Currently unavailable." Or could it be that EB don't actually have the darn collector's edition in store right now. Could it mean all the GT5 collector's editions were on those 2 stupid stolen trailers? For those who are in Toronto, give a call to your EB and see if you can find out more. I am seriously hoping the guy's just clueless and the game is safe. And for those who think 4 days is a long wait, be thankful you're guaranteed to grab your copy, and not a "It should be in next week." answer. :grumpy:

So, did couple of races in Arcade mode and the physics are AMAZING. 10/10.
I have to give a shout out to all you bashers out there. SHUT UP. i was slightly disappointed aswell, by just reading and watching videos of GT5 here, but now that i actually have GT5 at my home, and played it... INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The G25 is fully supported and i am 95% sure that the G27 will work perfectly.
You can now use the paddle shifts without turning the control Unit on the G25 to sequential!
Im uploading about 5 videos, of races, replays and photomode... Will let you guys know here and post them into the GT5 video thread

I have to give a shout out to all you bashers out there. SHUT UP. i was slightly disappointed aswell, by just reading and watching videos of GT5 here, but now that i actually have GT5 at my home, and played it... INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The G25 is fully supported and i am 95% sure that the G27 will work perfectly.
You can now use the paddle shifts without turning the control Unit on the G25 to sequential!

You're not alone (it still is an exception to already have GT5), at least we still have something to look forward to I guess, it's only a few days anymore.:)

This whole site is filled with spoilers dude. Only way you can not get a spoiler is to not log in. Many people want to know certain things others don't. I don't want spoilers but I do want spoilers. Your damned if you do damned if you don't. It's a view at your own risk deal here until everyone gets their copy.
 
Hey chris and frenchdriver and others who have the game: Have you tried playing with the H-shifter and clutch enabled? Is the clutch analog or on/off? When h-shifter and clutch are enabled is there automatic throttle blip when you change down (and if there is, can you disable it and do heel and toe yourself)? What happens if you try and change gears without pressing the clutch? Can you flatshift or does throttle cut automatically?

That is great news then. That means it would be inaccurate if/when they add DLC so no point to add it. What about a track list. Is it in the apex book. I care more about the tracks than the cars. I would be fine with 200 premium cars and every single track that exist. In a perfect word that could happen.
 
First video is up !

The physics are in my opinion really close to the one in IRacing. I have to say that i have no tried every single tyre compound yet, nor have i tried every single car on every track, nor have i modified any of the cars, since i only played Arcade mode!!!

The physics are a major step ahead, like real big! Its just so much more accurate and you really feel that you are in control of the car! In IRacing i run the MX5 alot at Laguna Seca and Lime Rock, and i must say Laguna Seca does look and FEEL laser scanned to me in GT5!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so impressed! Also Fuji feels alot different from Fuji in GT5 P!

I've made 1 or 2 arcade races, 1 time trial and now i pass the B licence.

I don't understand the question about the clutch. It works, but don't understand analogic or automatic.

Anyway the game is awesome, we really are the driver. And i found the graphics amazing (but my first console was a master system, i'm an old school gamer).

You'll be surprised on how many either have wheels or are getting wheels. I have a g27 myself but I won't consider myself a great GT driver and I have been with the series since the first installment.

it's about how much you push the clutch pedal. even if you push it a little bit the engine RPM goes to maximum and car isnt accelerating anymore until You let go the pedal ?
 
Chris, could you make a video of Special Stage Route 5 with the external view (in order to see more of the scenery)? Unfortunately Tekken90's version is too dark. If you really have time, both in normal and reverse versions please. Sorry if I am asking too much.

One of the guys playing it today confirmed everything works on it, it my not have the picture in the options but it does appear to be fully supported as with the G25 in previous games.

No he didn't confirm this. You guys realize that fully supported means button mapping. There is no wheel setup in the game so that tells you off the back that its not fully supported. Now the main parts are supported. The wheel, clutch, h-shifter and paddles.

You can't accelerate if you push the clutch. I didn't notice the rest, it was natural, like in my real car.

For flight, yes the G27 is fully supported. Now, we can't change the mapping of buttons but it's not important, once you know where the handbrake is, let's go!

Paddle shifter, H gearbox, lights follow the turn of the motor!! The physics of the cars are amazing. No need to be fussy for 4 or 5 buttons on the wheel you can't assignate (until an update, i'm sure it'll come).

No ofcourse not. You do not need a 3d tv, just the camera and your head :)

What if you try to change gear without pressing the clutch (with the clutch enabled)? Like in a real car if in the middle of driving you tried to yank the gear shifter without pressing the clutch?

Does it go into neutral or does it stay in the gear you had before. Say you are in fourth and change to fifth without pressing the clutch, do you keep going on fourth or does it change to N?

I apologize for going to such lenght on a matter which is probably trivial to most racers but I want to know.
