Not even Sony would be stupid enough to make their customers download a 9 GB big file just to access GT5's online features :lol:
I still think that all features will be unlocked on wednesday. (and I'm glad that from that day on we probably won't hear such rumors for a long time :D)

Yes but from what I have read of the reviews the online content doesn't appear to be on any of the menus. It isn't as though the options are there but cannot be accessed due to the servers being down. So please tell me exactly where are the online features?

I suppose it is technically possible that we download a small update that unlocks the hidden content on the Blu ray disc.

I do hope that the online component of this game is significantly improved over Prologue - I found prologue online cars disappearing , teleporting - not pleasant.

I am a very long time player of GT, since the first game came out and am looking forward to some online GT action.

I have a very fast connection so it was not my broadband. Anyone else have this problem with Prologue ?

As in changing individual gear ratios and final
drive? I would sure hope thats in the game. Im more interested in contact patch and tire grip. A set of 17 inch wheels with a 245 tire running at 28 psi and a 19 inch wheel with a 305 size tire running at 50 psi should act quite different from each other. All of the other things you can change are great but not bein able to tweak this aspect of your car would make no sense. Why be able to change camber but not tire pressure

I have to agree. Not having tire pressure is pretty silly. How am I supposed to dial in a NASCAR without tire pressure? The only thing you can change during the race in NASCAR is basically tire pressure, track bar, or spring rubbers, and spring rubbers make the pitstop longer.
 
Will GT5 have local leaderboards? Forza3 did away with these,it was a blast in the previous GT and Forza titles to test different cars against each other without having to write times down!

In 2007 I bought my PS3 just for GT 5. Nice to see that I am not the only here to have done that. The G27 has to wait because it is out of stock in the Netherlands (unless you want to spend € 426). Fanatec is also out of stock (Christmas has come early for them). But damn, it is finally here.

I think I'm going to love 98% of the game if not 100%. And not going to complain about the 2% I don't like.

Also, without detailed tire temperature readings it would be hard to set up properly those things. I'd like that too (inner/middle/outer temperature in degrees for each tire), together with more detailed and technical parameters in the telemetry/data logger.
 
Yeah, that would be nice. Hopefully they'd make it realistic. If you're in a race you don't get to know tire temperatures until you make a pitstop and they can measure those tires that came off.

If you're just testing then you could pull in and get tire temperatures and go back out.
 
Discovered the release of GT5 in all French FNAC Store's (included Clermont-Ferrand - Auvergne), haven't taken picture of my local fnac but for sure Hundreds of GT5 have been sold on 20th november. My local fnac is about 1500M² store and the GT5 island was directly in front of the entrance of the store !
Just ordering the ps3 bundle to get it (since i've no PS3 at this time) and it'll be available with certitude the 24th november from Micromania local store (Micromania is a store dedicated to console stuff in France).

Anyway thanx for all the good things found here!
 
Not really news for you guys, but my copy of GT5 got posted yesterday! So hopefully will arrive on tuesday :D

edit - just checked and mine was actually sent friday, which means possibility of arriving tomorrow...

Just heard an interesting rumour and im sorry if this is old news.

As you know those who are playing GT5 are saying there is no access to the online content. Well i've been told this is because it isn't on the disc and the online features of GT5 will have to be downloaded. This is rumoured to be 9GB!

Apparently the reason for this is the online aspect of GT5 was removed and only those who are running FW 3.50 can access this online content.

Interesting. I doubt its true though. What is the source of this if you don't mind me asking.

One curious thing though, the rear of the case say's FW 3.30 required which is odd when medal of honor last month required FW 3.41.........

My copy dispatched from HUT.com yesterday, so I hope for a Thursday or Wednesday arrival...

This has happen to me & i've been under Doctor's care for a year now, no work. We are waiting for the surgeon to make up thier mind to operate or wait for a rupture, OUCH. But the pills are good, & I have plenty of time to devote to GT5.

Yes 3 more days before i get GT5 but it feels like 3 weeks...damn! :)
