As dedicated as many of us are, we sometimes look too deep into certain things. I can name a handful of pics that were analyzed in this thread and now they're ancient history. So, it's hard for these "hints" to gain any steam because so many have come and gone. At this point, we have no idea what to expect! And that's how it should remain until the news is properly announced. Note: seeing a tiny map in the corner of a GPS in a screenshot of a car we saw on a website doesn't mean it's IN the game.

But I guess it's still fun to debate it. That's the only thing we have right now. Debates! ;)

This is pretty old. The story goes from GT3 so I think that things are changed now
Watch beyond the apex, it's a movie on gt5. They say that the modeling stage in gt5 is 6 months, 5-6 times longer than it was in GT4.

The problem is that it's not ambiguous-

From the zoomed-in image posted earlier of the official 918 Spyder shots:

porschegt5.jpg

And the GT PSP track selection screen:

TrackSellection00.png

It's clearly the same. The ambiguity lies in why it (the PSP screen) is on the Porsche.

I can see why it has attracted so many of us, but it's still nothing concrete (100%). Just as we've seen Gran Turismo stickers on certain real life cars at races, it didn't mean they made it to the GT titles. And 9/10 times they didn't make it to the game, it was just advertising.

But this is still an interesting find, I admit.

Edit: And if this is true that PD has acquired a Porsche license, then this delay is a blessing in disguise. More time to model cars, and you Porsche has a lot to offer. But my gut says they're not going to be in the final cut. Let's see if this changes in the coming months.

It looks photoshoped but then I've checked their official site:

http://www.porsche.com/germany/
(Zum Webspecial -> Webspecial starten -> Watch INTRO)

And took this print screen:

And above picture IS OFFICIAL!!! Check the gallery!

That image in particular is intriguing. That is clearly the track selection from GTPSP. It is on Porsche's official site. Those are the facts. This is either a really big hoax, or it is a clear sign.

I think someone should query Porsche or Sony regarding this image.

I find it strange it includes fictional circuits in real world locations, that all but rules out the possibility that this is the Data logger technology. Someone has put it there on purpose and we want to know why.

Please, do not let this be a hoax. Whoever Porsche has hired/employed to edit those images has a lot to answer for if it is a hoax.

I think they used that picture mostly because of the Nurburgring image more than anything (it's like the proving ground for German automaker), but if this a hint that it will be in, great, more car to drive for us.
^ I never liked Porsche design, but that car is an exception, love it.

I think they (PD\Porsche) know we're keen eyed and inquisitive enough to find these little hints.

If its an indication of what's to come maybe the 6 months extra is justified.

'87 911 turbo=my big booty fetish.

Reminds me so much of that GT5:P pic in that NASCAR broadcast.... :D

Exactly. PD are very subtle. This is the sort of thing they would do. Its also the sort of thing someone would do if trying to create a hoax, or throw a spanner in the works.

Do Turn10 use photoshop? :sly:

Never underestimate the marketing people's ability to underestimate the eyes of bunch of rabid fans on the internets. I wouldn't take this to be a confirmation about anything before they make some kind of official statement about it.

I agree. Which is why they need to be asked directly.

Looks more like the concept car ui guy just stole the image, to show a fake ui? im guessing

unless there is a vid of the displays running and you can play GTM

For the people not wanting to believe "something is up there", what do you think it is?

A Porsche employee making a joke and risking getting a sue is not as probable as a future PD/Porsche announcement.

Those details are not in an official document for accident.

Kaz is pouring info very slowly and this is hint exactly in his style. I can't imagine why would Porsche include this GT PSP screen if it means nothing. It's obvious that marketing department of such company is thoroughly thinking about every pixel before they release press pictures.

Taken off the "Driving shots" video from official Porsche website. Judge for yourself but the shot from GTPSP is definitely there and definitely intentional. I'm betting on a partnership announcement soon, maybe at Geneva if we're lucky...

Hope the pic uploads. Im no good when it comes to code... :indiff:

ok,

here's a better resolution of the same image, just for fun ;)

I was about to do the same, thanks for saving me the effort :)

Notice how it isn't just a crop and paste job, they also recoloured the "Track Selection" wording to their choice of green, put the green boarders in, moved the "Show all" and added a little but of Nurburgring footage. Although can't quite tell if it's GT's Nurburgring or real life.

They've changed "track selection" and added the green but nothing else. "Show all" has not been moved, they've simply pasted the image of the real track the over the tracks on the right hand side (Suzuka Full and East). If you look at the bottom, "elevation" is still in the same place.

I'd guess the designer didn't have time to come up with a unique user interface, and didn't think anyone would notice.

If it's a pic of the real track, where would be the camera attached?

..so I would say it's ingame pic (would say that also just by the looks of it..). Now, what is the car?

You don't think the car on the track in the mini picture is...a...Porsche do you?!? Because that would be confirmation in my mind. I think this is quite compelling to be honest, and I don't normally get carried away looking intho things.

Oh, and Timppaq, you're right - to get that image would require an elevated camera hovering nearly over the track - possible, but unlikely on that part of the track. It looks like a replay angle...

Good point

As for the car, maybe a black Enzo.

Black car looks like a viper to me. Camera looks to be quite high and tilted to left, so i would say that picture is a screenshot from GT video. It is very hard to say what is going on. Trees in that pic seem to be almost realistic in terms of color variance.

Yeah could be the Enzo. Looks to have a box section on the front wing and also the side window as a similar quarter light (ie triangle window). Little Ferrari badge?

About this pic. Once you've selected your track I imagine it would go widescreen with just 1 track logo left in green.

But why does the PSPlike trackselection show the Nordschleife, while this picture shows the whole track including the GP track and the Nordschleife?
