Dodge got out of NASCAR because their heart wasn't in it. Toyota got out of Formula One because their heart wasn't in it. If it were, they would've spent the money in better ways to be more competitive.

Who has a superior record at LeMans and ALMS in general, Corvette or Viper? Ford races Mustangs and the GT. Chevy races the Corvette and Camaro. Dodge just has the Viper in road racing. YOU may hold the Viper in very high esteem. I don't.

I (ME PERSONALLY, you know, MY opinion) think less of it (Viper) because of its manufacturer's decisions that affect my favorite form of racing. Their lack of "corporate fortitude" (speaking with their money) has caused one less manufacturer. Which is never good for racing. Dodges return to NASCAR has always been iffy. And that is because they were not willing to spend the money to be at the elite level.

I highly doubt there are that many Ferrari owners who are clueless to its racing heritage.

It still doesn't make the fact that people DO CARE about the Viper any less true. The problem here is you are somehow using their exit out of NASCAR as sort of backing for people not caring about the Viper (which last I checked, isn't at all associated with NASCAR and is now an SRT product instead of Dodge) when it is far from it. It might be your opinion, but its not fact. I still fail to see how NASCAR improves Road cars when they share absolutely nothing with their road car counterparts other then badges.

Now if we're done with this belly-aching about having one less American make in NASCAR, can we get back to actually discussing GT5 News?

There was also that small thing called the financial crisis and its aftermath which I think played a much bigger role in their decision to pull out.

It didn't stop Renault, Mercedes, or Ferrari. They seemingly carried on business as usual. Toyota wasn't getting the results. I don't blame them for getting out. How Renault managed to stay in and be successful Formula One is mind boggling. There is no way Renault has the pool of money Toyota does.

Look at Red Bull getting out of NASCAR. They didn't want to spend the money to be at the elite level. So, they weren't. The big teams (Jack Roush in particular) whined about the money Red Bull had at its disposal. The costs of their involvement in F1 is astronomical. It's paying off though.

As for the detailed topic, GT's partnership with Chevy, I think it's a much bigger deal than Forza and Dodge. Simply because Corvette is a much larger brand than Viper.

Actually manufacturers are now stamping the NASCAR fenders, doors, and quarter panels. The hood, roof, and deck lid are carbon fiber base on passenger car specs. WHY do you not know that???

Wait so you were not kidding

Regardless of who has the bigger deal which brand is the largest(what ever that means)

I as a gamer care very much about driving BOTH the vette and the Viper and I am pretty sure the viper is a very wanted car by the community.

Great, that is your opinion but you originally said and got responses on "who really gives a sideways frack about Viper?" and clearly people do care, so I don't get why you're still babbling on about racing and NASCAR.

Yeah, 4 people out of 100,000+ care.

You're getting close to the boarder of this being personal Simon. I was asked to explain why I was being sarcastic with my "meh" toward the OMG new Viper. I think I accomplished that.

2 and a half hours until the unveiling'

Oh come on, you're a smart man, you know how misleading that stat is. There was no problem you being meh towards the Viper, it was suggesting nobody else cared people took issue with.

Key word in bold. For your information, I did know. Why do you assume I didn't?

Cuz you acted like you're some of those NASCAR trolls that think they are still racing with the Taxi Cab of Tomorrow :P

I am very aware of whats going on with NASCAR (do you even visit the NASCAR thread?) unlike said trolls, I responded because you make this bold claim on how nobody cared about the Viper, whuch I really hoped was sarcasm(because clearly, all the buzz as well as that presentation last year says otherwise) and then make their exit out of NASCAR out to be "The end of Dodge in Racing" when you forgot about the various offroad series featuring their RAM brand as well as the GRC with the Dart (You know, the one Travis Pastrana drives ;) ).

Still no non-camoed version of the C7.... Possibly after the Tuesday maintenance?

Oddly according to that bloomberg article, its supposedly going to be in the game before Tuesday.

I just noticed that the unvail time for the Vette corresponds with the reset time. Sorry if this has already been mentioned, I'm a little slow today, lol.

REDBUD!!!

Reset time??? Huh???

The car gifting one, hence I don't see the relevance.

Simon, I was just making a speculation, no need to go getting all upity with me. Damn dude, nobody can say anything without you chiming in with your all knowing attitude.
