Iknow that man, i work in a auto body repair shop, so i know what are the holes. When i said holes i mean what is into the circles, you know what i mean?

I'm not sure I do.

Me likey very much, will sleep well tonight!! What about next week then?
Lol what is this? They write an article about the messages we've been seeing for the past 7 hours?

And by the way...Pensore said "soon", NOT "very soon". That way people will expect something in the next 2-3 days. These so called journalists can go to hell.
No need to wonder why the website is called ps3hype....

I didn't understand you because those are not really holes, but the edges of few polygons in the 3d mesh of a car, that have some fudged up values, so the 3d engine interprets it wrongly. Those areas should be smooth, but they appear(just appear)to be dented.

anyone who does 3D modelling and rendering will notice the shading error here - they need to smooth out and fix the model's poly normals 💡

I can't see that on the real car

Fire that modeller now! :sly:

I'm sure fans of skidmarks/3-d trees will gasp at this most microscopic, ,unexceptable, and flawed shadow.

NO what have you done. Now GT5 will be delayed until 2012 because PD has to fix the shaders, the world will end and we will never get to play it. I kid.

Shading error due to something funky in the model - needs to be fixed for the photo mode lovers out there :)

GT5 will have all types of racing styles, including road, drift, rally, NASCAR, and more. By adding NASCAR, this won’t take anything away from the GT experience you would expect.

so the drifters out there can expect being able to drift, even if the Time Trial was just about impossible to do so with a 900 degree wheel :)

Nothing to do with missing polygons, the information on the normals are just messed up, so the shader processes it incorrectly. Fairly common issue for anyone who does 3D rendering and modelling

I can't help it, I do 3D rendering and modelling as a hobby, and that stuff stands out to me, plus I pay attention to detail ;)

I'm just surprised that kind of stuff went unnoticed back at PD....

In your second image, look at the angle of that section as it curves round below the faraway light, then look at the angle that the nearside section is at when it meets the number plate. The twist is quite noticable on the farside.

Gees - I do 3D rendering, I know exactly what a normals shading error looks like - that above is a normals shading error. It's as blatently obvious to anyone that does 3D rendering, as using a V8 engine sound with a rotary engined car

Anyone posted this yet? I couldn't seem to find any reference to it: http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/plugged-in/new-racing-videogames-set-to-rev-up-sales/1393665

It's about the popularity of driving games in general, with a short blurb about GT5: 'Sony has sold over 55 million copies of its "Gran Turismo" racing simulation franchise worldwide. Its newest title, "Gran Turismo 5," will be available for PlayStation 3 users this autumn and introduces NASCAR to its garage of racing vehicles.

The game is expected to feature over 1,000 cars, ranging from Japanese tuner cars to concept cars, as well as tracks from around the globe. The game will also feature stereoscopic 3D technology for the first time. Racing games keep fans coming back for sequels.'

Nothing new really, just thought 'this fall' and 'WILL feature 3D' are interesting.

Does this mean we'll be getting a pair of 3D glasses with GT5? Sorry I'm quite a noob here so I'm not too up to date with all the features of the upcoming game.
No, 3D glasses (2 pairs) come with 3D HDTVs.
If you don't have a new tv with that technology you don't need 3D glasses, you wouldn't see the difference anyway.
BTW I heard each pair is quite expensive...
