They allready got differently toned windshields, so toned helmet visors should be possible, but are more or less a matter of preference. I think Yamauchi will keep things the way it is at the moment. Other than toning the visors, PD will probably work on the lighting in a way that you will not be blinded by the sun too often.
As far as reflections go, i thought they were realtime, so every change to the lighting and the inviroment will be reflected properly. I don't know if they were cutting corners here and there, but if their reflections are true real time, this shouldn't be a problem. I just hope the PS3 is up to the task, because GT5 will be pretty demanding on the visual side, even without the weather effects and a full 16 car grid.
The overall performence is good so far, but we have not yet seen starts from a standing grid, no 16 race cars on the track (though this could just be a matter of choice, other than poor performence), no realtime deformation, no weathereffects, no splitscreen and no onlineraces.
I don't think we can consider them done, just because GT5 Prologue allready had some of those features, since they seem to have changed their engine in many ways.
I have no doubt, that PD will release a superb product, but as of now, we only get little information on the game. All the recent news are more about cars and tracks, rather than features. Nightracing is there, but there is only a trailer, without any additional information. Is there day and night transition, or just a choice you have prior to a race? Is the damage shown to the Subaru on the Nordschleife the final damagemodel? (though I dont think so, since there were no scratches on the car, not even on the parts that were hanging loose.)
There are many questions to be answered in the near future and Iam looking foreward to the day I find a big headline in the news section, telling me that the final featurelist was released and confirmed to be real.
Until that day I try to be patient. There is nothing else to do, besides playing other great games, that currently consume more time than I wanted to spend on them.
(God of War 3, Final Fantasy 13, Supercar Challenge, Heavy Rain, Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising (PC) and some others)
This year shapes up to be great
