They said something else too – let’s just say the Argos date is wrong…

Hint after hint after hint. Not August then? Either gonna be before or after. PLEASE be before.

This made me pre-order the game. I wasn't gonna do it before, I was gonna guarantee a release date buy by picking it up in-store. But, if Sony are gonna pull a Modern Warfare 2 and hike up the price to £48, it makes sense to pre-order and have the price capped.

Im not one for Getting on the "release date" band wagon ,but why has ARGOS just changed there GT5 date ? (and yes I know it's speculation) .
Interesting ,due to the fact that Argos isnt one for Full on gaming.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the retailers don't know of the release date before you and I do. It's announced generically, or do people think that devs/publishers trust the many people that work in the retailers to keep the release date under their nose?

Whatever, couldn't care less. E3 hasn't been any good for the past 3-5 years, IMO.
For those that don't care about gt5, the sony conference won't be much of anything either.

Are you kidding?

SOCOM 4
Killzone 3
Little Big Planet 2
Agent
FFXIII Versus
FFXIV
Metal Gear Solid: Rising
Move
3D
Medal of Honor (could be discussed by either SONY or Microsoft)

This E3 is going to be HUGE for SONY, and the only reason it wouldn't be huge for someone with a PS3 is if they only bought it for GT5 and GT5 doesn't show up.

To be frank, there's a rough approximate translation to Portuguese ( Cara ), and I call everyone ( excepting girls ) of cara, so dude is the way to call the fellas around here. It's natural, just like "Holy Crap" is translated into another expression and many other expressions are translated too. Blame the movies and TV series.

JC: "It's just like Tom Cruise.", "They said he can speak the English accent, but you'll know he's American when he start saying DUDE". I forgot the episode on that one.

If GT5 won't show up at E3, I will smash my Sony TV to pieces after watching it.:mad:

It will, it has been confirmed by multiple SONY sources. But dave_sz was saying that E3 was only going to be good this year BECAUSE of GT5, when in fact there are a TON of awesome games showing up at E3 this year.

Ok, I don't think I made this point very well in my above post, so let me explain this.

This image is taken from the Argos catalogue for spring/summer 2010, the one that claimed GT5 would be released in May. However I am not trying to make a point about release dates. What I feel is more concerning is the price:

P1000887.jpg

The pre-order price is listed as £39.99, and the in-store price as £44.99. This is the usual kind of price Argos would charge for such a game. However, as you can see from thesixthaxis report and Argos' own page, the price is now £47.99:

So, my point is, could Sony be ready to sell this game at a higher price than usual? Similar to what Activision did with Modern Warfare 2. In the UK the RRP went from £50 to £55, bringing the cost of the game up from £40 to £45 at most retailers. This, I think, is what is more important about this article, as it could have an enormous bearing on GT5 sales and reception, and could hint at the massive amount of content in the game.

Sure there will be if some of those other games indeed interest you ( and there are some interesting titles no doubt ) but for me GT5 is the only one of those which I'm looking forward to ( and yes, I play other games as well, as I expect to play Red Dead Redemtion very soon when it arrives on my doormat ).
To be honest, this is the first time I anticipate E3 because of possible GT5-related news, in previous years it didn't even appear on my radar apart from checking the news shown there afterwards. :)

, I've watched this one too. However, it doesn't really have nothing to do with me, since I'm not intending to speak as an North American, this is just the Brazilian way of speaking english. Me dá um tempo, cara. (Give me a break, duuuude ).

True, but LBP2 and the other games will draw a lot of attention, I just hope they don't minimize GT5 showing to expose LBP2 and MGSRising, there's always physical and time constraints in a conference.

I don't think that will happen, THEY KNOW how big GT5 is and how long we have been waiting for it. They proved that they know it in the "Man Furismo Jive" comment, and out of their interactive E3 page GT5 was the firts one on the list (if you follow the standard American, left to right, top to bottom format) I don't think that they're going to squelch GT5 this year, and wouldn't be surprised if GT5 took up a bigger timeslot than all of these other games. I was just saying that there is going to be MORE than JUST GT5 at SONYs press conference.

To quote VIKI "My logic is undeniable." but that doesn't mean I'm right, lol.

See, I don't understand this. I'm probably as excited for Killzone 3, SOCOM 4, and LBP2 as I am GT5, and Killzone 3 alone has me wetting my pants about E3! They have already announced that they are getting rid of all of the pointless swearing, the voice acting is going to be better because they have hired the voice director from Naughty Dog, the levels are going to be bigger and more open, giving the game a more sandbox feel. They have worked on the controls, minimizing lag while keeping the "weighted feel" that is Killzone, they upped AI intelligence AGAIN, and Killzone 2 already had incredible AI, supposedly there is going to be a much wider variety of weapons, the "Brutal Melee" system, jetpacks, new enemy types, an increase in the diversity of level settings (i.e. snow, city, and jungle type levels, with possibly more than those three) and they haven't said a word about the changes to MP yet. So I can't wait to see what they whip out for E3. I'm praying that they will announce split screen Co-op. PLEASE, OH PLEASE!

Metal Gear is all I'm looking forward to except GT5. Everything else I couldn't care less for. KZ2 was a bust, FF anything hasn't interested me since I was a teenager, SOCOM was good on the PS2, can't say the same for the last couple of games, Move and 3d might interest me in 5 years when it's mainstream. So yeah, another year, another mediocre E3. That might be due to the fact that games are no longer very important to me.

+ GT5

I'm boldly (pun intended) looking forward to these games. :dopey:

Well I hope you're wishes will be granted and I can understand you may like these games as much as GT5, was just pointing out they don't get me excited although I don't own a PS3 exclusively for GT5 ( or only for driving games ).
Just a question of personal preference, GT5 is what I'm looking forward to most ( or even only ) at this point.
For you it must be an even greater anticipation than it is for me when you've got several titles that get you excited. :)

Yeah, ok. Clearly shown by the ~ 1000 people that still play this game online on almost a daily basis.

Well, that shows you have no idea what you're talking about. The only SOCOM game that has been released on a full console since SOCOM 3 on the PS2 was SOCOM: Confrontation, and that wasn't made by Zipper. SOCOM 4 IS being made by Zipper, the guys that made 1, 2, 3 and CA (All of which were excellent games)

Move and 3d might interest me in 5 years when it's mainstream. So yeah, another year, another mediocre E3. That might be due to the fact that games are no longer very important to me.

You say that like it's a universal fact, when it's just your opinion. It won't be a mediocre E3 myself, and most other PS3 gamers across the country. Enjoy your pessimistic narcissism.

Uhm, I guess it would be more accurate to actually call it the Greek or Latin format.

I referred to it as an American format because it is an American conference. :)

I'm looking forward to Socom 4 the most after GT5.

The gameplay from the Pre-Alpha stage demo looked a lot more action-packed than the previous Socoms.

LOL, you're great.
1000 people from the millions that bought the game. WOW!
I was talking about the zipper games which I sadly was introduced to past their prime.
The fact that I said all this was my opinion and you're saying that I'm stating it as fact, shows I'm wasting time with you. After all you're the one who just said most ps3 gamers are just like you. Thankfully none of the ones I know are like that.
I didn't know that not liking certain games anymore was pessimistic.
Please just put me on your ignore list if you're going to be this way. I don't have the time to respond to all these words you keep putting in my mouth.
Next time you quote me, make sure that the words you BOLD out are not next to words like "opinion" and "to me". That way your message might hold some ground.

Things I am ridiculously excited about seeing at Sony's E3 conference:

Gran Turismo 5
LittleBigPlanet 2
Killzone 3
Motorstorm 3
Resistance 3
The Last Guardian
Starhawk (possibly making a show)

Also excited about the premium PSN service that they will be unveiling, and also very anxious to see what games they have for the Move controller. SOCOM 4 looks great but I'm hoping they get some HD ports of some of my favourite Wii games (mainly lightgun shooters such as the Resident Evil/Dead Space lightgun games).

you think theres gonna be millions of players daily on GT5? or Uncharted 2 for example it has around 50k players daily with millions sold too, its not a bust

I don't expect many people to be on uncharted as the game was being marketed for it's single player story and cinematics.
Why is it so hard for you to accept other people's opinions? After all the hype the game got before release, it was a let down to me. Why does that bother you so much?
I see that writing OPINION in a post as often as possible is still not enough for people.

Out of that lot, I can honestly say that I'm only intrigued by what has been promised with "Little Big Planet 2". Maybe "Killzone 3" could be interesting, but I wasn't that thrilled with "Killzone 2" - the rest can stay on the shelf as far as I am concerned, including 3D and Move.

Why is it so hard for you people to accept other people's opinions. To me the game was a letdown. Why does that bother you so much?

Because until someone confronts you with what you say, you speak as if every word out of your mouth is concrete fact! It's a recuring theme in your posts! You post so blatantly, and act like something is fact, then when someone says "That's your opinion, but based on the majority, you're wrong" all of a sudden you start acting like you clearly voiced that all of your posts are just your opinions, when the truth is you NEVER clearly voice that your posts are just your opinion. You just ramble on as if everything you say is a fact! Never have I seen an "IMO", or "IMHO", "just my opinion, but" until after someone confronts you about your "opinions/facts".

Saying "KZ2 was a bust." does not in any way relate, "IMO KZ2 was a bust." it just reads as "KZ2 was a bust - fact."

I wasn't that thrilled with "Killzone 2"

That's how you clearly show that it's just your opinion, and no one will take it as if you're trying to make a universal fact out of it.

I think he meant thousands not thousand. BTW Killzone 2 is a great game with great atmosphere and graphics and if you try to beat it on the hardest difficulty.. oh man even the hardest license tests in GT history are piece of cake compared to this

Two years after a games launch, having 1000 people online on a daily basis is a LOT of people. That means that there are MORE than just 1000 people playing, that means on any given day you'll find ~ 1000 people online, because not many people play the same video game EVERY day. (Unless you're HALO, or COD) Most games have a mere following of 200 - 300 online on a daily basis by the time it reaches a year and a half to two years after launch. I played RTCW just the other week, it was released almost 10 years ago now, and it still has a following of ~ 30 or so. Yes, it's only 30, but do you (dave_sz) realize how significant that is for a game 10 years old?! You (dave_sz) have a misconception of what longterm online success really is. HALO and COD are multiplayer anomolies, BEYOND mere success.

From the official French Playstation Forum... an interview of Andrew House ( SCEE President ) (LINK HERE) :

In english :

What will be the next ( BIG ) key game after GT5?

We are going to take out a series of sublime games during the course of the year and at the beginning of 2011. We have just announced LittleBigPlanet 2, which is very exciting. The first one LittleBigPlanet revolutionized the vidéogame development and for this second edition, Media Molecule really surpassed itself. I wait for the release of LBP2 with impatience and assure you that you do not go to be disappointed!

So GT5 will be released before or at the same time of LBP2

When will Gran Turismo 5 be released ?

The game is more than ever of current events. It is sublime and will soon go out.
