Don't agree with above post.

 That's about as to-the-point as it gets.

March was the release date, so it should have been out then. There is no reason for them to tell us a date, and then take it back. Patience is a virtue, but we have been patient for five years, and I think that it is time for them to give us a date and stick to it. Hopefully E3 doesn't disappoint. :nervous:

Plausible, granted. Still bet on 3D and it all seams to be converging. Huge GT5 sponsorship on LeMans, 3D support for PS3 and a few stereoscopic tittles launching tomorrow, Sony 3D TVs available at the end of this month, E3 as a perfect place to show off (almost) final GT5 3D.

I'd like to believe GT5 will finally get at least a release date at E3. But my craving may be clouding my judgment...

My post wasn't wrong. What release DATE did they give in March? What day did they say it was to come out in March? There was no specific date. That's why I said there was only little talk of March 2010. There was no official date in that month, so that's why I said they never announced a release DATE.

Besides all that a playable demo at LeMans!!! Wonder what track it is? I'm going to do a little research and see if I can find out something.

They are the game developers, they may have all the reason in the world to change a release window. And that window was only for the Japanese release, the rest of the world was guessed to have a release sometime in the summer.

Regarding the "waiting five years", the demands of a game in this generation of consoles is a lot higher than the previous generations. To develop a good quality game will take time. Sure, five years is a long time in perspective of what time the previous titles took to develop, but I think it will be an average compared to what will come in the future.

Just before Christmas march was unveiled for the japan release date. The bit I don't understand is how America knew what the damage model was like when none of us still haven't a clue what it is like now. How can America not be happy with an element of the game no one still knows nothing about?

Game shows buddy, game shows. They criticized GT for not having damage, because Flopza and NFS has it. Pre-rendered damage that is, and hardly realistic.

I agree, so those who SLAM into others when they race online can get what they deserve. I hate racers like that. But yeah, it was because of game shows where damage wasn't shown off i think that there was a push back, that's what Kaz said.

You know what, that is really getting old. Why don't you grow up a bit? 👎
Well, but to many of us, a certain game is a flop. Not just because of bugs and flaws, but gameplay killing bugs and flaws. And it didn't help matters when a certain company is headed by big mouths who took the entire concept for their game, talked it up like the godliest racing game evar, but couldn't deliver on the quality of the game they copied. Kind of a flop, and a sad flop at that. That is my opinion, but as you can see, I do have my reasons for it.

So now, I'm anxiously awaiting a game that defined the genre, and continues to do so after twelve years and 52 million in sales. And it looks like those who are waiting around for leaks will just have to wait for the ship to sail on tuesday.

They never gave a release date before. The March 2010 was only mentioned a little bit, but pushed back because AMERICA wanted better damage. So blame it on us. Not PD. Damage was going to be done better so maybe that's what the push back was for. 3D was probably always going to be apart of the game. But now Sony's 3DTVs will be out later this month for sale? Yeah and 3D on PS3 Tomorrow? GT5 shouldn't be too far behind.

Don't agree with above post.

Me neither. freshseth83, as I said many numerous times before, America didn't delay a game, PD did. And they did said the game would be released in March 2010.

Wow, three months already.

You know what, that is really getting old. Why don't you grow up a bit? 👎

Just let it go, man... people won't change anytime soon. Good news is that, once GT5 is released, these comments will disappear from the forum...

...until GT6 is announced.

I will be extremely interested in sale figures when GT5 finally comes out.

I am thinking these delays will hurt more then do any good.

Gaming has changed.

When I first got my PS1, everyone talked about GT, I mean everyone, it was all the hype.

But now, it is different, I am betting no where near the sales as previously, while it will still sell well, it will be a flop. Flop because it will not do as good as expected.

I do respect your opinion. You don't have to love the game; I also found Forza 3 quite disappointing (loved Forza 2). I'm just saying that making up childish contortions isn't gonna achieve anything.

DO NOT click this link if you if don't want spoilers of Sony's ENTIRE E3 conference. I am filing this under rumor until a better link is provided but none the less here it is... well I will say this, there is some good news for us.

That list is completely fake, it is spoiling nothing.

Whilst some things will obviously be at Sony's E3 conference from that list because it's already public knowledge, don't think that it's even remotely accurate.

I agree with you, but there is a 1% chance.

Reuters report. Nothing really new, just a few sentences about GT5.
They are all enthusiasts about 3d and they are, of course, all Sony representatives. In any event I am starting to be curious about this 3d thing.
Now we have HD, if 3D will be good we just need a driving seat/pedals which simulate the G force changes (the real dream)

Excerpt:

Developer Polyphony Digital is enhancing the upcoming "Gran Turismo 5" PS3 racing game into a 3D experience, which will also be on display at Sony's booth.

"3D is the natural progression of video game technology and it allows us to replicate the experience you have when driving a real car," said Taku Imasaki, producer of "Gran Turismo 5," Sony Computer Entertainment America.

"When you play a (2D) video game today, it's almost like you're playing with one eye closed," said David Coombes, platform research manager, Sony Computer Entertainment America.

Although I've never properly read anything on Neogaf and I'm not a member.. that forum does look kinda suss. I think that list might be fake, only 5 days til E3 now anyway so I'm quite happy to wait and see the truth.

Here's some little tidbit of the F1 Ferrari in 3D, supposedly, at the end of the video.

Guys, after comparing pics of the 2007 and 2008 version of the F1 Ferrari, I'm almost convinced that this is the 2008 version, not sure though, would be cool if someone else sees that too. Btw, in Prologue we had F1 2007 right?
