The guy is stupid if he's comparing GT5 damage to Burnout.

No mention of the standard and premium split...

No offense, but that's a pretty big statement there don't you think? :)

It seems you mistakenly take these two types as complaining and bashing:

1. People who have their opinion and are expressing it, like McLaren or dave
2. People who are annoyed and countering whatever excuses people make to justify the sounds, also like McLaren and dave.

The problem here seems to be lying with the people who blame the TV, the recording, the sound system or Youtube's compression system or wtf it is rather than accept like a reasonable person that you are not getting good sounds this time around (again).

No I didn't mistake anything. You were mistaken by thinking something that clearly wasn't what I intended. There are bashers of GT on this site, and naysayers. Instead of a constructive forum with information or reasonable speculation we get people talking junk and bringing old things to the table. To them nothing will be good enough. And for them, they need to take a look at the world around them and see NOTHING in this world is perfect. Everything man made is imperfect because man himself is imperfect. No game no car no race will ever be perfect so long as man isn't. I just find it sad to get on the threads and instead of seeing information or constructive talks, we get arguments and people bashing eachother's opinions. That's why I said why get on a GT site to bash GT? Why complain about something no one has? The thing is, it's seems like people get all bent out of shape about one thing or another. Just sit back, relax, and let Kaz do his job. When GT5 is here most of us will be marveling at it. Sure the damage might not be perfectly accurate, or the trees might cast weird shaped shadows on cars, but what other racing game can't say that? I'm a GT fan. Not a fanatic. I'm just hoping we find out some information and spread it through these threads instead of it being a bore fest with rampant fights and arguments. That's lame. Constructive criticism is one thing, but until someone can make the game or A GAME better, I don't see why anyone has any right to crack on PD or GT.

That S2000 is Stephan Papadakis's formula drift car.

Finally they show this car, it won the GT award at Sema back in 2005, was wondering why we have seen all the others except this (excluding the 2009)

Example? AFAIK the guys in the past few pages whom you are referring to were in no way bashing GT.

I wonder if the physics for Drift mode will be altered like in GT5P?

I don't think the physics were altered for Drift Mode in GT5P. They have the same standard/professional settings. This is the reason why I love drifting in the game compared to other games where the physics for Drift mode is definitely altered to make it easier for the players.

Thats correct, drift mode/event did not alter the physics in GT5P, it just gave the scoring system.

I wasn't on here two years ago, was on a hiatus from here.
Then don't comment on us needing to say, "We need better sound" 2 years ago if you weren't actually on the forums.
My thing is, unlike some people on here, I see this game more as a tool to help me be a better driver.
You're playing the wrong game, then.

I don't write on these forums much as I find they are rife with inane bashing of competing opinions. I'm just not interested in that. There are many not so constructive criticisms and Seth makes a valid point. If people can not shed equal light on both sides of something they take issue with, I have to say that that is a perspective not worth anyone's time.

Well didn't they give you drifting tires in drift mode? Maybe thats why it felt only slightly diferent, not totally different and unrealistic like NFS.

No, the tyre choices are exactly the same, and if you compare them in drift and time trial they're the same.

Older GT's (GT2, GT3 I think) had some "drift" tyre option in arcade which was useless anyway.

I don't have to make any game to tell PD that they dropped the ball again on a lot of the car sounds. Telling me otherwise looks like denial, imo. I'm a GT fan like others, but this game's got some obvious flaws & I'm not referring to the retarded argument of 2D trees or that nonsense. Sound is an important part of racing games, that's a pretty solid fact. No one wants to play with a Ferrari that sounds like a Geo except maybe R1600 since sounds don't matter to him.

I'll still pick up the game like everyone else but the game hasn't quite sold me on a CE, so unless something impresses me personally, I'll be sticking with the regular copy.

Well I haven't played GT5P in awhile. I thought I remembered the cars feeling a tiny bit more loose in the Drift mode, but I guess I'll play it tomorrow to refresh my memory.

Thanks for agreeing with me. I find no reason to give examples of such behavior when it's quite easy to spot it. I'm a member of this site, and have been for a long time. I've been on here easily for about 5 maybe 6 years now. Don't let my post count fool you, I just don't feed the trolls or spend everyday on the forums. Heck I think I might have joined when I was playing GT3 to see if there were tunes for it. I was a member of another GT site that had people post lap times and have video proof of such. I forget the name of it because I don't think the site exists. Maybe it does but I haven't been there since GT4. At least on there the site was about the game. It was people who enjoyed the game. Not spoiled little children who want the 'biggest cookie' in the jar, and when they don't get it they spam their usual b.s.

This site used to be like that. It used to have people on here who were all about GT and the things it had to offer. Now it's filled with rotten mouthed fools who bash the very minutest of details like shadows on the hood or dashboard. Instead of saying how good it is to have that view to begin with we get a whole thread complaining about how GT5 isn't going to be the game it should be because they don't have that view for '800' cars. So what? Appreciation is what is lacking here, severely. I'm just ecstatic a new GT game is coming out, and finding out it now has damage, it has possible body upgrades, a return of the race conversion for some cars, a more detailed photo mode and b-spec mode, go-kart racing, and a track creator? I don't care so much for 'cockpit' view, I care about what GT has to offer in terms of the driving experience.

People will say GT isn't a real life Simulator, find one that is and costs 60 bucks! The point is you can't. People will say GT isn't a good way to learn how to drive a certain car or track, when in fact there are race drivers who's careers have started out because of this franchise. And there are also race drivers (like Lewis Hamilton) who say GT is as close to real life as it gets and prefer it to any other race game. When you hear 'racing game' to a large percentage of people, Gran Turismo is associated with that. Hell, type in Best Selling Racing Game on a search engine and see what pops up. You can go check out the information for yourself in best selling games for each system. You'll see GT games were #1 and #3 for the original PlayStation. Then you'll see the GT games were #2 and #3 for PS2. It doesn't matter so much as to what the naysayers think, mostly- Gran Turismo is the BEST racing game there is, the TOP SELLING racing game there is, and according to RACE CAR DRIVERS, the most ACCURATE racing game there is.

GT5 has improved on every aspect of GT titles of past, so why would anything change? It won't, it will just reaffirm Gran Turismo as one of the best and top selling games there is period, not just in a racing game category. So go ahead and complain about sounds, real drivers wear helmets that muffle the sounds of the engine, plus wear ear plugs to reduce that even further. Complain about a cockpit view that's only offered on 200 cars, most racing games don't even have that amount of cars in them. All the complainers do just that. Complain. If you have enough patience and enough resources, GT never sounded like a vacuum cleaner to me. GT never needed a cockpit view for me. GT never needed to have a livery editor for me. GT never needed to have damage perfection for me. GT never needed a track creator for me. But hey, we ended up getting some of that stuff anyway. Why be upset?

Ohh c'mon man. Don't go there please.
If all you care about is physics, & aren't bothered by anything else, there are other racing games out there that are more than likely going to deliver a better experience purely b/c they don't have to cater to a large, general audience.
LOL wut.

Hello ignore list.
Doesn't bother me. One less person with nothing but dribble for posts to respond to.

Like I said, find one that offers what GT does for 60bucks. You can't. Regardless of the level of details between standard or premium, GT has content galore, that was so even in the past games. Now GT5 has even more of that just from what weve seen at game shows and from demos. It might not be a Ferrari simulator or be a vinyls editor supremo like some other games, but we are getting serious content, good damage, good physics, and on top of it all, some of the best visuals there is.

I'm starting to think i have been ivisable banned from this forum, my opinion goes in one ear and out the other with you people? can you quote and comfirm my opinion is complete crap please?

It's like stop discussing game flaws because freshseth83 doesn't want to see them or hear about them! But come on, isn't this discussion forum? :) The thing is if your ferrari sound like this, you'd return it to dealer and want your money back.

You're not invisible...also the AUP states "Decent grammar is expected at all times, including proper usage of capital letters."

Try reading my post before responding. People like R1600 who only care about physics will find other games exceeding in that area above GT5. Nobody is really bothered by the fact that games like iRacing or rFactor don't have the same amount of content GT5; people that play those games generally don't care if they've got it one way or the other. The physics is all that matters to them.

Don't give me that low post count and decent grammar BS. If that's what you go by when judging an "opinion and or game" no wonder you stick to such low expectations.... Cheers.

My head hurts. This thread seems to have had a clash of the titans.

In corner 1, we have the whiney 'kids' who want everything their way or else they'll troll. Welcome to the real world kids, your not getting everything your way. Guaranteed.
They'll buy GT, because it's cool & spam in amazement how good it is.

In corner 2, we have the 'old hands', they make it very clear that the 'kids' are wrong and that thier experience is of more value. They can't grasp the logic behind the 'informed debaters' in corner 3, they don't grasp constructive criticism.
They'll buy GT, because it's cool & spam in amazement how good it is.

In corner 3, we the 'informed debaters', these precious few aknowledge and debate both the postive and negative, they rarely aknowledge the 'kids', and by keeping current, can't understand why the 'old hands' are frustrated.
They'll buy GT, because it's cool & spam in amazement how good it is.

In corner 4, is the stand back idiot society. I'm happy in this group. I like to be grumpy and judge, i play on stereotypes, i find dark humour great and to top it off, i love GT.

So what group do you fall into?
Are you offended?

Nothing like being offended by a four eyed, 6ft+ Red headed leprechaun.

In case any of you might have forgot, GT5 is less than two months away! Don't lose your head this close to release, we need you all to spam how amazing the game is!
