GT5 looks better than this GT6 Demo

I suggest the official Gran Turismo 6 is much better than 5, the demo seems to be overly compresses, while driving you can see slight Judders in gameplay and a incomplete feeling. Also the cars given in the demo are old, they might have been updated but the 370z was given in the 2009 demo of GT Academy, but the Nissan leaf is quite new. If you see the e3 trailers, bigger demos, the game looks much better. If you carefully see autumn ring, the trees are 2D, its like seeing an upscale from GT2, and when you move position in facing it the tree moves in the same direct position, the game needs proper trees, what the hell are 2D trees, this is PS3, soon it will be PS4, it looks overly stupid. Although some effects have been added like leaves on the ground and sun shining across the track, but again the track still feels still, there needs to be more life put into this, the tracks are like full of high textures but no effects, and the same polygons used in the Gran Turismo 4 versions of the track, this is a real improvement PD need to make, Goodluck :)

It's not GT6. It's a pre-release demo. It's not finished. It is not representative of PD's work to date. It is likely one of many builds PD have available. It's not GT6.

And...?

I'm certain the point you're trying to make is not that because they added more badly dithered smoke to the game over the demo, hurting performance of the game further when too much gets on screen, as a result we should expect GT6 to have better performance than it has now. Because I was simply pointing out that your example was bad, and there's another big reason that this one is too besides that (namely, the existence of Prologue). Not that there's no chance that it will look or perform better for the final game.
The point that I'm trying to make is that an early demo is not the final game, and never have been, specially in the case of these limited GTA demos.

Also noticed, much sharper clearer reflections.

The smoother models, while being the same GT5 models, adaptive tesselation really smooths them out, this is especially noticeable on the 370z, it is pretty jagged in GT5 while in replay and in game, on the demo, it is much smoother overall, from headlight, molding and wheel arches.

Another stupid ranting-post... and it has already 8 pages...

My god, people are silly these days.... (including myself...)

I haven't played the demo :( .. but I've seen a lot of videos of it and from what I can see the paint looks waaaay better now:

First look at this GT6 replay, look at the tone of the paint, and how the light affects it.

GT6 Demo

Then here are two videos of GT-R's, again, look at the tone of the paint, and how the light affects it.

GT-R AMS Alpha 12+
GT-R Black Edition Review

And finally a GT5 race featuring the same car .. just watch again the paint

GT-R race (foul language warning)

GT5 wished it looked this good!
Yeah, the flickering and aliasing is bad, but these are pretty much beta builds

Watching the replays, the cars just don't look real, its has that Forza 4 sheen that makes it look like fake plastic where GT5 actually looks like metal. It's like GT6 demo is missing some shaders and wow are the tracks bland, eg where is my grass that flaps in the wind when I drive by.

Negative. GT6 has a nice, even, smooth shine to it. FM4 is way too shiny.

Say what you will about FM4, but it is the only car game I've played, where I get the sensation of smelling fresh paint in some of the car view screens.

As for the GT6 demo, IMO it was about the same as GT5.

Some jaggies, but not bad enough to distract me.

Frame rate is better in the demo, than when I played GT5.
However the screen wasn't as crowded, so this is likely to still be an issue in the GT6 game.
Some have already posted about frame rate problems, and being on PS3, I would expect some.

If you want to do the hindsight game, GT Academy 2010 was nearly a year before the release of GT5 the final game. Plus it wasn't actually a full demo, so... not really that comparable.
What is a "full" demo? One that represents the final product? Well, it doesn't.

You think things can't change in a half year? What about BF3, PES13 with 2 demos, etc?

Im having major framerate problems at 1080p cockpit cam, it's so bad that to me it looks between 10-20fps...it is horrible and close to unplayable.

Wow that's too much. I have some slight frame drops here and there I never experienced in GT5, I wasn't expecting that in GT6 but what you are describing is a way more serious problem. What PS3 do you have?

I have a slim 250gb bought in 2010.

I'm also experiencing massive frame rate drops (not even using cockpit cam) . Especially when driving with a ghost car or making an quick U-turn with smoke and all in a corner. I've got a fat 40-gb ps3 (2009) and running 1080p without smoothing. Tried 720p but that looked awful. I haven't had this problem with GT5 at all. I hope this problem gets solved before the final version because it's really spoiling the experience for me. Not really keen on buying another slim ps3 to solve this with the ps4 being released at the end of the year

Another fatty PS3 right ? Looks like GT6 is really pushing the PS3 right to the edge ...

You must be blind, sorry but you are wrong.

I think GT6 could be a little bit brighter. Not as bright as GT5, but still a little closer to it. I also think everything is a bit too smoothed.

My conclusion is that the GT6 demo fixes many graphical issues that GT5 had but has more aliasing and framerate drops big-time which downgrades the quality of the picture and gameplay. Hopefully PD will fix these issues for the final game because if they don't, no matter how much work they put into the new lightning engine, GT6 won't look better than GT5.

Are you sure you haven't got a tin of dulux nearby?
I have to say that, while I've grown more used to it, sometimes I still smell burned rubber when I toast a tire too hard in F4. ;)

Quickly, I'm pretty sure someone posted that the 2009 Time Trial demo looked different than GT5 proper. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on graphic issues, because PD still has months of work left to do.

Anyhow, gotta race, I let the bots have their fun too long.
