GT5 Master Track List (NOT a wishlist)

There's a part of the opening video that I'm trying to work out. I don't have a screencap because it's a bad video, but I'll try and exaplain the shot: it's an overhead angle, looking down on two section of the circuit. The cars appear on the left-hand side of the circuit, going around a right hand bend. They disappear out of frame and will reappear on the right-hand side, going around another right-hander. You can clearly see that a shorter version of the circuit can be run, with the two sections of the track linked by a left hander. This, however, is blocked off. The landscape looks kind of arid, which makes me think it might be in California or maybe Utah. The shot itself appears towards the end of the video.

Any idea on what circuit this is?

Edit 2:

It's the Mercedes Arena section, it's missed out on the 24hr track.

A reason why it could be made reversable is that in the reverse version players would be able to drive on the right side of the road like in most western countries.

Didn't think of that, maybe so! SSR5 was used in some GT4 European events.

I can't believe PD left out Infineon! That was my favorite track in GT4, man! Damn. GT5 is gonna suck for me. I was really looking forward to the new car handling on this raceway.

I´m afraid, but as others have pointed, we haven´t seen everything.

Some licensed tracks (Infineon, Valencia, Motegi) are yet to show up. We´ve never seen PD drop a real course after they added.

Doesn´t make sense because those courses take a lot of resources to build up.

We can make a case for each track

Doesn´t make sense to drop Infineon since Nascar is in now.

Doesn´t make sense to drop Valencia since it´s a recent adition and is yet to make an appearence on a full fledged GT.

And Motegi... well, they have the SuperGT license (shown in the ASG trailer from 2009), so it also doesn´t make sense.

Outside of those three, i only expect to see Spa and Hockenheim for real courses, they were the only other ones rumored to be in it.

Unfortunately i don´t think we will see the Prologue wheather thing materialize. (before DLC).

Motegi has to be in it, otherwise there are only 2 oval courses. It would make sense to have more than Indy and Daytona for driving NASCARS.

They're just ovals. Motegi would make sense though since it has a ring as part of the track and multiple variations. But I'm not getting my hopes up of seeing it, Spa, Infineon, or any other specific course.

No one is sure yet. But it is most likely in.

I admire your optimism, but from my point of view:

No-one is sure yet, but it is most likely not in.

We've got lots of reasons to speculate that it might be in, but absolutely none that I'm aware of to believe that it actually is.

I want to be optimistic about Spa too, but besides Jordan saying, way back when the Indy Time Trial Demo came out, that that demo was rumored to feature Indy or Spa, we haven't heard anything about Spa being included since.

It was on the sony guy's suitcase and in a video as well. Also, but it doesn't look as if it means much anymore, it was part of the weather in prologue.

Also for those worrying about Infinion and Motegi, don't be. Polyphony have a licence for them so why not?

In addition to that:

- Spa was in a list of reference material for GT5 found on a screen of a PD workstation in a video in the official site.
- One of the Course Maker themes is Belgian High Fens
- Spa was listed in the GT5Prologue weather screen
- Spa Francorchamps track logo sticker appeared on a Polyphony Digital suitcase apparently containing reference material. Other stickers were from tracks that ended up appearing in the game (Indy, Monza, etc)

Hence, Spa is probably in the game. Unlike some of the other tracks in the weather which we haven't heard anything about since.

Whatever their intentions of their Spa trip was, I think the High Fens course environment will be the result.

The Eifel, the mountain range where the Nuerburgring is located, is a course maker theme too, so the "Belgian High Fens" theme inclusion doesn't necessarily imply that Spa cannot/won't be in GT5.

Not saying that, just saying it would explain a resource gathering trip. It's just the lack of solid evidence that makes me doubtful.

See, this is exactly what I mean. We have lots of reasons, kindly listed by SHIRAKAWA, to speculate that Spa would be in the game. However we have not a single shred of evidence that it has actually been included, and yet you're all convinced that it's probably there. Reality check: it's probably not.

I desperately hope it is though - I'd trade any confirmed track for it, even the 'Ring.

I'd rate it's chances about the same as Hong Kong.

I think Spa is in also because they MUST have to hide some surprises and if it isn't include, Monza and Indy would be the only new real tracks, and for a game that has to be a revolution like KY said, it's not too much...

I don't understand your logic.

The evidence we have to suggest that Spa is in is very strong. To the point where it seems odd for you to say 'it probably wont be'.

In my opinion, even if we only knew about one of the points from Akira's list, it would still be reasonably safe to assume it would be in.

probably tracks will be unlocked increasing a spec level. I hope cause the list we saw from the video sucks more than ever. I want to see real and proper tracks not a ****ing straight in japan with fireworks.

Actually we've got Nurburgring also for the first time, the full 24-hours and the normal racetrack used by DTM and F1 for instance.

Not to be pesimistic, but our czechs partners are playing for some time now and have increased their levels A and B spec. Have you unlocked a new circuit?

In GT4 it would unlock circuit quite often in early stages.

Probably are being paid by PD, KY and Sony to keep their mouths shut on the issue.
