We had the Nordschleife before, a part of the Nurburgring.

Well actually, Nordschleife as we had, was a standalone track. What I meant was that the combination of the two we have not seen before, and definitely not Nurburgring itself as a standalone. Of course I knew Nordschleife have been in before, not born under a stone either ;)

I don't think SPA is in the game, Polyphony would show that track off and use it as promotion for the game.

Maybe as DLC in 2 or 3 months?

Personally, I don't think PD got the license to use the track.

I just think it's a shame since 1. its many peoples favorite track and 2. GT Academy winners have driven there. Would have been nice to see the next time trial for GT Academy '11 there.

why are you putting your hopes down?

Yep I obviously hope it will be in the game. I have been hoping for it for a whole year. So many things have pointed towards it being included, but, like Lewis Hamiltons chances this weekend.. its slim

Which is about the same as the chance of it raining in Abu Dhabi :(

OFF TOPIC: I read reports today that there may be small amounts of rain at some points over the weekend. Unlikely for the race though. But just think how slippy a track that never gets rain would be!

Back on topic: I like tracks

heh I hadn't heard that yet.
Wet tracks then.. do you think all real life race tracks will have weather options? Nurburgring seems guaranteed from the AMG Event description.
Laguna Seca hosts 24 hour races edit: 6hr? and it does ocassionally rain there, and tsukuba would likely have a wet option again too.

I don't think they'll have it on all RL tracks. The ovals would probably not have them for gameplay reasons, although I wouldn't mind having to cut my race for some rain and having the game jump time towards the end of the storm.

Another thing I just thought of:

An addition like Spa to the GT series would be quite a big one, probably the biggest since the full Nurburgring. I would have thought that they would include even a quick flash of Spa in the intro to the game - like the cars coming up Eau Rouge from a helicopter view or something.

It's so big to have in the game that I don't think they could keep it secret. I mean Monza is a pretty big historical track too and then one day out of the blue it was there in a demo somewhere.

I hate to get anyone's hopes down especially my own, but at this stage I think it would be safe to bet a small amount of money against its appearance. Please proof me wrong..... :(

Anyone got the full list of weather locations from gt5p? I recall Silverstone, Estoril and Hockenheim....I for one would happily see them included in the final game but it's not a deal breaker regardless for me.

Track "hints" for GT5 I assembled together:

Does anyone know the reasoning for keeping reverse/wet/snow etc... variations completely separate in the track selection? Surely it would be better to put variations in a 'sub-menu' of a track and make navigation a lot easier? Just a thought.

Through all the excitement off the leaked GT5 copies, I must have missed the talk about the hidden resource list in Prologue. Could anyone please update me on where this list can be found?

Thanks.

I think that's a combination of poor UI design and probably the selection having more "impact" in this way.

"Wow, it takes a lot of time to scroll the list, there must be a lot of tracks!"
(But actually half of them are the exact same layouts, just in different conditions)

Still, I think we have not seen everything, regarding track variety.
I think we can be confident that there will be many more unique new tracks and unique variations to be unlocked.

Found by hacking the game data files by another user. EDIT: potentially the same could be done for GT5.
It doesn't mean that the tracks were in the game, just the names.
About 540 cars were also found in this way.

To be fair, we've only seen it in practice. We've yet to see it in the race itself.

Nice one on the hidden resource list! I know this is pure speculation but do you think that the old school banked oval at monza will be in the final game? If so do you reckon the old variations of Spa ( before they mutilated the bus stop) would make he game?

Unfortunately, I fear that the confirmed unchicaned version of Monza is the closest thing we will get to a historical rendition of the circuit. I also doubt we would get the old Spa layout from the '60s. The roads are still there, but they have been changed much in several points, so they would need to be completely redone using some imagination (something that hasn't been used for Monza to create a proper unchicaned version from the '50s).

This is apparently a laser scanned version of Nurburgring GP in Ferrari Virtual Academy

Compare it to GT5's version :)

GT5's curbs seem to be higher. There is a whole bunch of trees on the right in the FVA version, just before the first right turn, that GT5 doesn't have

They are really different.... GT5 looks more real, but I don't know the GP course very well so I have no say in this.

Big kart picture is definitely Autumn Ring Mini, the little ones could be course maker like Akira says.

Whilst there's nothing interesting to look at, it turns out we've seen this part in the new video, the course doesn't go down the centre road, it has split to the left of the high wall and comes back to the right of the solid white barrier. Since the trailer they've added high walls and adverts to replace the low barriers on the sliproad exit. I think that hints they've made the track reversable, not sure it needs to be really...

The weather trailer also shows the opposite end of the track, which does a 180 loop through a wide toll booth queuing area surrounded by floodlights. The game's intro shows cars entering and exiting that part.

Not sure why it would need to be reversable, since it looks like the track has a loop point on either end, and you drive on the other side of the road on the way back, so it forms a circuit of sorts.
You can see one of the loop points in that leaked video

Does the person with the leaked copy of GT5 who was uploading YouTube videos post here at all? I was wondering if he had unlocked any new tracks yet.
