SSR11 in GT1 has a tough chicane that was removed in GT3 for some reason.
Safety reasons! That chicane did more harm than good :)
Personally I'd want to see the GT1 layout, with the underpass but without the chicane.

Oh, i loved that bus stop chicane (i think that´s how they called).

Specially with the cars you could go full speed.

SSR11 is highly regarded by GT fans.

Strange it only showed up in GT1 and GT3 (dumbed down version).

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a few more tracks on the disc at launch. As others have said, there are too many glaring omissions for this to be the complete list.

That's my .02 cents...

;)

I think the tracks I'm going to miss the most are Costa di Amalfi and Citta di Aria. Those were purely amazing.:indiff:

Well, if Grand Tour is all races, then we should see a Bern track in the game. But I don't think that is the case. I think "series of events" probably refers to photomode too. Of course I am hoping differently. Because if they are all races in the "Grand Tour", then Bern is confirmed as a track and we have solid evidence that our "official track list" isn't complete.

I remember some of the early GT5 trailers showing opposing traffic and pedestrians in Bern, maybe its cruises\drives through towns, with some course maker stages in between, Belgian High fens and Germany maybe others ...

I'd like to remain hopeful that (at least) some of the GT4 tracks will be in... but I just don't see why on earth PD would release a track list and have it not be complete. The car list is most likely complete, why would they release a partial track list?

If they wanted to "keep a surprise" like so many of you are saying.. why would they release a track list at all? I'd think they would just remain silent like they have been the past month.

I am going to hold out believing this list is final until the game has been out a week or so. Wasn't surprised that tracks like Red Rock Valley didn't make it in, but that a lot of original GT tracks where omitted like Mid-Field Raceway, Test Course, Apricot Hill Raceway & Seattle Circuit.

Absolutely agree with you. I mean shouldn't GT have the test course for one...?

Amazing? In the case of Citta di Aria, maybe amazingly hard, amazingly tortuous... that thing killed me worse than SSR11 ever did :yuck: I think they took all the narrowness they removed from Monaco and put it into that track...

-> ...
I've only played GT series starting GT3, what's special about the GT 1 version of SSR11?
^ The GT1 version, or should I say SSR11 '90s is a more challenging track comapred to the '00s (aka. the GT3 version):

^ Too bad PD didn't include these tracks... :( :grumpy: :indiff:

they guys that have the game are racing in the gt mode and unlocking something ?? where the **** are they!?.. it can't be that track list

Didn't they say,all tracks from gt4 will be in gt5?!

No, they said that all cars from GT4 would be in, which they appear to be.

My suspicion is that PD have fundamentally changed the way the underlying framework of a track is either modelled or processed from GT4/GTPSP, presumably in the pursuit of efficiency to achieve their goals of 60fps, 16 cars etc. This would mean that bringing tracks from GT4 wouldn't simply be a case of re-making textures, but would effectively involve re-modelling from scratch. It may even be that there have been two iterations of this modelling improvement, which might explain why some tracks can have weather and others can't - the others are possibly not 'streamlined' enough.

As for the prospect of DLC, someone commented that there won't be time to produce DLC as there hasn't been time to include those tracks in the main product. This is a fallacy - while it's unrealistic to believe that new tracks will appear every month or two it is reasonable to believe that they might continue to produce tracks periodically over the next few years (as they'll hopefully be needed for GT6), and assuming a lifetime of three years for GT5 they may be able to provide half a dozen new tracks.

And yes, I'm afraid I believe that this list is what we're getting, and that there is nothing more to be revealed.

Good post.

To add to it a little, let's say they are 95% done with 4 tracks. They still have to cut it off at some point. Not only that, but they have to structure the events in A-Spec and B-Spec and also Special Events. I bet most of that was mostly done back in the late Summer.

So, like Kaz said, they are already working on GT6. However, if this is the final tracklist, I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple classic tracks thrown in on an update, at some point.

Somebody who's got a PC BD-reader needs to analyze the disk content for track and resource names. I'm sure something more than what we've been shown will be found, unless PD radically changed the file/resource structure.

Well, I finally found a reason to have a blu ray drive on my pc.

But seriously, does anyone have one?

Although PD never claimed that they would have all tracks from GT4 or even GTPSP in GT5 I have to say there are some glaring ones (both track and street based) which are missing which I'm surprised where not included.

Its obvious then that some of the tracks could not simply be HD'd and ported across. I'm actually very disappointed that Hong Kong and New York arnt included, instead we got London which is a terrible layout. I think I drove on it once in GT5P!

Robin.

They said there would be a long version of the London track but it isn't listed on the site. I wonder what happened there? Seems like an ideal course for some rain :sly:

Also let's not forget of all tracks shown in GT5 Prologue ending credits.
I cannot believe they left those out, unless PD meant to show those from GTPSP (at that time yet to come), which wouldn't make sense anyway.

The hell?We waited over 5 years just for 200 new cars and 27 remade tracks?
WTF ARE YOU SMOKING KAZ?You better make more tracks and release it as DLC
=___=
I bet that reviewers will give this game an 8 max
And about the cars.130+ Nissans and no Ascari or Maybach? And Bugatti Veyron a standard car?
*facepalm*

Well, I know how much effort you went through keeping up with those lists. And it was a great ride and I still believe the logic was on our side.

But, now I really believe we may be looking at our full list. I mean, the more I think about it, they have been saying 20+ and 70+ for ages.

We just didn't believe them.

You're right, but their way of referring to those tracks as "over 70 variations in 20+ locations" has always been very ambiguous. Even the japanese userbase thought so, so it was not a "lost in translation" thing.

The thing is, PD have only confirmed tracks we've already seen and left out some we know are in IE El Capitan and Sienna

I admire your persistence, but we don't know that El Capitan is in at all.

We know the Siena kart track should be in, but we also know that it's supposed to be a kart-only track, which may mean it's treated separately as some sort of special event venue.

Yea, man tracks are my thing too. I want four hundred of 'em. In mountains, over bridges, under water, with weather and day/night and all of it.

But, in my mind, at this point, I have an "official track list" vs. nothing but assumed circumstantial evidence/hope.

I still think we will get some surprises, but maybe not like we were expecting. And this is their way to kind of temper the expectations of the masses. But, I still can't believe how thrown together that thing is. Surely they will re-release one w/o a bunch of typos and oddities. :ouch:

By the way, can anyone explain why Suzuka West isn't on there? I'm sure its already been discussed.

👍

Anyway I can't see anything other than this place going round in circles for the next few weeks, I thought people's expectations would have been brought down to earth by the official info but obviously not.
Bored of repeating myself so I'm going to take a holiday. Bye for now :)

That's not true though. I know i saw a video of a bunch of Fiat 500's racing on that track. So either the track has been removed or we're not looking at the full list.
