GT5 Master Track List (NOT a wishlist)

Add Grand Valley, Test Course, Deep Forest and Trial Mountain to the confirmed track list of 16 and you have your 20 tracks.

Grand Valley, Test Course, Deep Forest and Trial Mountain have been in every single GT, no reason for them to disappear now.

Solid selection I think, will last until DLC no doubt. GT5P only had 6 courses and its lasted me over 12 months
 
Yes, but there's no proof they're in GT5. We all assume they're in, but we'll have to wait until GamesCom and TGS to see. (From rumors there's supposed to be a lot of tracks and cars unveiled at GamesCom. Most tracks should debut there with the rest showing up at TGS)
 
I just noticed:
In the FT-86 Trailer, it shows the old toyota corolla coupe (Levin for the american guys here^^)
now if someone talented could analyze the scenes with the corolla und check if it has a interior?
i mean, when a corolla levin has an interior it could be an indicator for standard cars having a cockpit view.
seriously: it CANT be premium, why it should be?

You know I'm looking at Forza 3's track list its far better then GT5's.

While PD is taking pictures of and modeling landmarks like the Colosseum or whatever is in Spain turn 10 modeled awesome real world tracks like Road Atlanta, Sebring, Road America, Silverstone, Catalunya

The city tracks in GT5, outside of SSR5 and Toyko R246, are nothing more then glorified photomode locations

London, Madrid, Rome, all a waste of disc space IMO
 
Welll....we haven't seen EVERY track in GT5 yet. And we already have Top Gear Test Tack (That alone makes it better than Froza 3, in my opinion), Nurburgring Nordshielf, GP and 24H, Circuit de la Sarthe, Toscana Rally (and probably a Toscana Road Course), Madrid, London, Rome, Daytona, Indianapolis...and possibly Stelvio Pass. I don't know, I think so far, the track list in GT5 is looking good.
 
Its good but I would have preferred more of a focus on real world racing circuits

PD is adding Indianapolis, Daytona and the Nuburgring GP tracks, so that is 3 new tracks.

Why PD insists on creating fantasy tracks that flop like Seoul, Paris, Opera Paris, George V. Paris, London, Hong Kong, New York and who knows what else I'll never know. I mean I dont know what flops more PD's fantasy city tracks or a soccer player. I dont know why some people like El Capitan. That track is a train wreck. Seattle belongs in some "Rush" arcade game not a simulator.

Yes every once in a while they get it right like Toyko R246 but thats rare

There are very few decent street courses in the world that are worth anything. Long Beach, Monaco and Macau are all I know of. The rest are disposable, forgettable, a night mare to drive and close down after a few races.

Look, with this 20 track number we're going to miss out on some great tracks. Keep in mind only 1 track has been seen so far so its going to take up at least 1 of the 4 spots left on the track list.

To me all of the fictional tracks are superb and its a very good variety. :)

Their permanent course fiction tracks are good (Midfield Grand Valley Trial Mountain), their fictional city tracks stink like 90% of real city tracks

And we already have over twenty tracks anyway. I'd expect to see around 80 or so tracks, but I could be wrong.

Secondly, Monaco has been in GT before, so it could be in...and as for the others, not all the tracks have been unveiled yet.

Thirdly, can we PLEASE wait until we know all the information about the game before we start complaining what is and what isn't in the game? I mean that's like you're mom telling you that she's bought you ice cream and whining it isn't chocolate before you even get see what she got you.

Yes we should all wait for the next bunch of news, probably at gamescom.

Or....we can wait for 5 months (GT5 is out on November 2 2010).

Yeah I wanted to ask that to ,if that is a standard car then no one should worry about them at all.
 
if one were to watch the E3 trailer from 0.37-0.42 seconds I do believe that SSR11 is shown. The curbing, trees and everything matches up from what is seen in previous versions.

I still think it was SSR11, but it COULD be SSR5, I guess. Besides, those first two photos don't really match up. the GT5 one is clearly a chicane as you can see the cars approaching it, and the one in GT4 is just after the hairpin.

I think a bit of perspective is needed. First of all, you are judging GT5's tracks without knowing what we do and don't have. They said 20 locations and we still don't know what that means exactly. That is a question made even less likely to mean individual track number after Yamauchi said at E3 that the final track count hasn't been determined yet.

Now, moving on to a comparison of tracks: Road Atlanta in Forza 3 is a big disappointment to me. The surface looks like it belongs on an abandoned track. It is the only real-world track in the game that I have seen in person, so it is the only one I can judge, but it looks horrible.

And of course Forza has their own collection of made up tracks. That alone says that just because we have seen made up tracks doesn't mean PD doesn't have a huge collection of real-world tracks that they want to surprise us with. Note that until now we haven't had proper real-world track reveals until a major race at those tracks this year. We could still see things like Road Atlanta (Petit Le Mans) and others when an event that will draw media attention occurs there.

The only issue I can see is that the American Le Mans series seems to favor Turn 10 and Forza. They even sell the game on their Web site. I think that could lead to a limit on PD's ability to access some tracks or have displays at events.

But until we get an official track list I think any kind of comparison is a bit immature.

No, that spot in SSR11 is right-left while the GT5 track is left-right. Not to mention that's not even a chicane in GT3 -- it's a full throttle corner where you just squeak through it at full speed.
 
it could be going the other way, you know.It could also be the final chicane before the final turn.

No matter what way you're going on SSR11, both the spots you mentioned are right-left corners. Just take a look at it and think about it. There's no configuration of SSR11 that fits the track in the GT5 video.

My mind set is this: Would it make sense for PD to create "premium" fantasy cars? Or would it make more sense for PD to create real "premium" cars?

What is so important about racing through London or Paris or Rome or New York or Seoul?

Call it paranoia or whatever you like, but I think PD models so many fantasy city tracks from famous real world locations just to show off the graphics. A permanent purpose built racing course is usually just asphalt with trees around the track.

Your average casual Gran Turismo user will probably appreciate Rome or Madrid more then he would a legend track like Monza or Road Atlanta which aren't as impressive visually.

I cannot figure out any other reason why PD would spend the time and include such awful, bland city race courses.
 
that's true. We really could do it with merely two Point to Point races, but it'd be more exciting with 3 or more.

However, I'd like to think that Stelvio Pass is confirmed. (And the 458 Italia Trailer had a Toscana road course...kinda like Tahiti Road and Tahiti Maze from GT2)

By the same token, a lot of real world tarcks are pretty crappy too, and it's not like you haven't played a lot of them in other games, so you already know them too well and haven driven them tons of times

If every game had the same set of real world tracks, then what's the point?
 
I mean...It's just...they appeared to have modeled the entire Stelvio Pass course and that's a heck of a lot of work if it isn't in the game. It just makes sense that it is. And It's cool 'cause I think it was a community requested track. :P And I'm sure Top Gear helped.
 
I just realized that Stelvio Pass would be the LONGEST road course EVER to appear in a video game, if it's in. At least a few times longer than Nurburgring.
 
that's true. The videos on Youtube are anywhere between 4 minutes and 25 minutes....It'll be interesting to see which route they choose...however, considering there's tunnel, it'll probably be an average of 7-9 minute course...so close to Nurburgring times.
