Ok, thank you for the reply.

By the way the one of the tracks you have listed ??????? America ???. Is it possibly Road America?
No. In my opinion the first six folders contain data (videos, images, etc) from journeys that some of the PD staff did in past years. The dates are in YYYYMMDD-MMDD

Ok, maybe I think I'm able to make more sense out of that now:

200x06xx-Europe Territory
200x0808-0xxx-Hong Kong ????? territory
200x0624-0xxx America territory
200x0627-0715 Italia Territory
20050709-0717 Fuji Speedway
200x0927-0929 Europe territory

Also, I zoomed in and the one you have listed as ?f-3000, I am almost sure that says P1-3000. Wish I knew what it could refer to though.
Maybe Formula 3000?
I read that as some sort of P, then f-3000

By the way, in the Nurburgring folder:
20030225_?????? (reads "BROWN" in small lowercase letters to me)
20030602
200x0604
20090617
2009091x
Industry bit
Touring bit
Texture materials
?式 Data
Manufacturing ???? Data
--- 090711 Light and ??????
--- PS2 Texture ???????
--- ??? GP
--- HDRD
--- ??????
--- ???? Data

This is the image I used, kindly provided by a user in another forum:

^^^ Cool that makes a lot of sense.

Also, check out that post I made above yours with the altered pic. Pf thing really is ?1-jxo or something like that.

Be careful of getting hopes up over this list. There is the possibility that this list includes reference material or 3D models of tracks that aren't yet ready for inclusion in GT5, or even a few that are still in the planning stages only and have nothing more than the usual reference material. I will, naturally, still be crossing my fingers for everything on this list, but I won't necessarily expect to see them all in November.

What is the folder opened at the very top above 'Europe'

Is it "Tracks" or "GT5 Tracks" or something along those lines?

It's "[something_I'm_unable_to_read_due_to_low_quality] Courses"

To me the last four characters look like numbers, they're very similar to other ones that can be seen in the folder.

Anyone know if this video is available in HD? :sly:

Would that be the answer to the translator's prayers. 👍

Edit:

This is what I can make out of that list (question marks where characters are unreadable):

????/ Europe ????
????????????
????????? America ????
????????? Italia ??????????
????? Fuji Speedway
????? Europe ????
BBC Top Gear Test Track
???? Fuji Speedway
?f-3000
Indianapolis
Infineon (raceway)
Capri
Kleine Scheidegg
Grindelwald
Gornergratbahn
Seattle
Spa Francorchamps
Seoul
Tahiti
Twin Ring Motegi
Daytona
Nurburgring
--- [Nurburgring data files following]
--- [...]
Pikes Peak
Paris
Valencia
Bandimere Speedway (At least, that's my interpretation for what I read as バンヂミアスピードウェイ)

Is there some sort of alphabetical order that the Japanese use? Because all of the tracks that start with the same sound are grouped together.

This is indeed very interesting, and not really an accidental inclusion in the video, if I may say so. :odd:

They're messing with our heads! Where's Mr. CSI? We could upsample the image, resolve it, filter it a bit and it should be perfectly legible... 💡

And yes, there is a "natural" order for sorting words by the kana... just like there is a "natural" order for sorting words by the letter. ;)
As for the kanji, I have no idea... (again, excuse the romaji...)

Just for reference, I sincerely doubt they would include Pikes Peak international race way. Mainly because it just isn't very big nor well known. I think it's mostly local racing. The raceway is also a good 30 miles (probably more) from the actual mountain. They are not really related.

Awesome thank you for the info. The reason I ask is because we do not know the first letter/character of the PF-jxo track and what it says before Fuji Speedway (not the one with the dates in front). So, that should help narrow it down since it shows up in between Indianapolis and BBC. 👍💡

Again, here is the image.

Wikipedia mentions it's currently used as a NASCAR test track, and among other things,as a Karting facility(probably in the short oval section). Both very fitting with the current scope of GT5. It's also relatively close to the Bandimere Raceway and Pikes Peak Hill Climb track.

I suspect the first character of that line is simply an ordinary P letter, because it comes just after some numerical dates and lines starting with a letter (BBC Top Gear, PHW Fuji Speedway) and just before lines starting with a japanese character (イ is almost at the beginning in the unicode character map. Hiragana and Katakana come first. OT here, though).

So to me it's Pf-3000 or P1-3000.

EDIT: OH, I just realized that if it's PHW富士スピードウェイ then the second line can't be Pf-3000 or P1-3000, as it would not be in alphabetical in order. At least not with ordinary letters. Anyway, I don't think that analyzing that further will lead to new discoveries.

One thing I noticed is that on the segment of the list that we see in that picture, there are 26 main folders that can be expanded... And that's showing about a THIRD of the list! So, here is my guess: There are SEVENTY some-odd tracks... MAYBE, the track editor "sceneries" are the TWENTY sceneries everybody talks about... We've seen only 4 sceneries, so maybe the other 16 are hiding now...

That is what I am hoping, but we have to keep in mind that there may not be a lot more folders in the "track folder". There may only be 5 or so more tracks in the track folder. The rest could be other folders that are on the same level of the top folder in the picture. And if one of those is expanded, then that throws it all out the window.

Did I explain that ok?

Hey, well thanks for taking a second look. :)

I worry that many of these tracks that we see all this data for may not make it into the GT5 release.

For example, they may have traveled to Spa, took pictures, measurements, GPS data etc. and have it saved in that file folder - but somewhere along the way made the decision not to develop it yet.

Hopefully not though! FULL pikes peak.. would be nuts.

Just wondering... that's stretching the imagination, but couldn't P1-3000 be this?
http://www.p1kartcircuit.com/

That would be an odd coincidence. Another Karting track.

Also, there's the Phoenix International Raceway not too far from there, a Nascar circuit they could use. If it was in the unintentionally leaked list one would have to scroll down to see its name in japanese.

But again, probably I'm speculating too much.

Unfortunately, the video quality is too low for me to be able to understand the more complex characters there. I took several screenshots, but I've been unable so far to read that.

What I can make out of the top folder name is:

(or "Courses")
Not very helpful...

I agree however that the general impression (from other folder names, or at least what I can make out of them) is that it's a folder of source material for modelling tracks that might end up in GT5.

I'm wondering if PD also released this three part video on GT5P's GTTV as they've always done in the past. If it is, it's usually higher quality (1080p/720p). Unfortunately, I'm no longer an owner of a PS3/GT5P to be able to find this out.

I don't have GT5P so unfortunately I can't check either.

I also wanted to add that after seeing the list, it seems more likely than before that the following locations/tracks appearing in the GT5P weather screen won't appear in GT5 (by following the japanese character ordering they should have been visible):
- Estoril
- Imola
- Silverstone
- Zolder

However, there still are some chances (we don't know if they are or not on that list) for:
- Brands Hatch
- Hockenheim
- Jerez
- Magny Cours
- Shanghai

You guys have to remember that we have only seen one rally track and one kart track so far. The Tokyo Game Show is only 25 days away which is less of a wait than we had to endure from E3. I'm sure you die hard enthusiast will get SPA & Pikes Peak.

Tahiti Maze making a return would make me happy, mostly for the WRC cars.

Ew, Id say good riddance to the old "rally circuits" with the introduction of the Course Editor, you can make your own Point to POint stages with a new layout everytime.

Although I do wonder, is that the reason Toscana loooks so, dry and plain? because you can "lay track" just about anywhere ont hat map with the CEditor?

So we might get good road layouts but not as much environmental detail. roadside ditches rocks trees etc.

The P1 Circuit is a mini Suzuka replica.

All of you do realise that this might just be the data for all the GT tracks ever produced on the computer screen and doesnt mean they are in GT5. I wouldnt be suprised if they keep all the track data on one 'system' so if they want access assets they can do so easily.

Having said that the entirely new tracks listed on the screen are likely to be the ones which will be in GT5. I would really love to see Hong Kong in GT5, it would probably look as good as the London track.

Robin.
